  1. I mentioned to my son last night that the Pats might just win the game with the help of the refs. It was opening night for the NFL, big splash for the network, you know that the top brass of the NFL did not want to see an upset. As soon as the Raiders just cruised down and scored the touchdown on the first series, the reffing suddenly went in the Pats favorite. I feel bad for the Raiders, they had no chance to beat the refs and the NFL desire to have pretty boy Brady and the Pats win on opening day on National TV.
  2. You buying the beer? I might have to drive to Buffalo just to give you a lift. I have not done it in a while, but I believe there actually is/was a bus from downtown to Orchard Park.
  3. I believe that Leinhart will end up with one of the mid-level teams in a draft day trade. A team like Seattle, Oakland, Dallas, GB, NO or Arizona might move up and take the #1 overall pick. They all need a QB, and probably will believe that with a stud at QB they can win it all.
  4. If he can bring it, and I believe he can then another team will pluck him off our PS>
  5. Proof positive that TD keeps his draft picks over players who might be better.
  6. Thanks..I thought it was no more than 2 yrs in the league and not active for 9 games..but I thought they both saw some active time.
  7. I would not be surprised at all if the Pats lose on Thursday night. More importantly, we cannot overlook the Jets this season. I am more concerned about the Jets winning the division before the Pats winning the division.
  8. When did the PS rules change? I did not know Ritzmann and MacFarland qualified since they were on the 53 man roster last season (so I thought!)
  9. Marvin Lewis did not want TD. Can we hold off on McGahee being a HR till after the season. If he has an average year (1000-1200 yds) would you consider it a HR?
  10. Any relocation of the team would require approval of the owners. I doubt that any owner would vote to move the team at this time. It is about PR. Maybe at next years owners meeting.
  11. Hmmm....17-31 vs 36-44 I will take 36-44 I am saying the Belichek showed alot more potency than GW.
  12. The difference is that Belichek made i to the playoffs and one a game before getting fired because of circumstances. Had Modell not moved the team, the Ravens would not exist and the Browns might have a SB win under Belichek. I cannot think that GW would ever be that good. Good DC...awful HC
  13. Historically, the Bills have had 2nd round failures (LOTS under Butler and Polian), but the difference is the ability to cut players. I think either MM or TD refuses to cut ties with the draft picks. Truthfully, I think that Dre Haddad was just a lower cap number to cut. Nothing more.
  14. From Yahoo... Did we let a good one go? I think not!
  15. A you say TD is not afraid to admit a mistake? Why is Reed on the team?
  16. The Bills get one game....a lose to Houston could be a sign of what is to come. I know, the Bills beat the Pats in game 1 and they went on to win the SB, but the Bills have not enjoyed success lately, and for the Bills, losing is contagious.
  17. It is not the W/L at the end of the game that matters. It is the W/L after the 1st stringers are benched. The problem with the analysis is that many teams (good ones) do not play their starters more than a quarter. When Marv was here, the Bills starters played a few series and it was done. He used the preseason to assess talent for cuts, NOT to get the starters into a groove. Good crisp practice works well to keep the starters sharp. This is the biggest difference in the TD era of the Bills. His coaches (GW and MM) both play their starters too long in the preseason. How it translates to Wins/Losses during the season is to be seen. But I can say that I am not a GW fan, but I would take him back after he spent a few years with Gibbs. I think he had learned alot about how to coach football players.
  18. It is far less than the nearly 10M signing bonus the Eagles offered initially. I think he wanted out of the train wreck known as Philly.
  19. I think the trauma patients in NYC need her too. There is no more danger in NO than in NYC, so I would say, stay home. You will see it all in an emergency room in NYC.
  20. Maybe when they blow a draft they are not afraid to admit it.
  21. I agree, but the others at least played, even some started in the NFL. Simonton could not even crack the Bills lineup.
  22. Scary to think he was a Heisman candidate and cannot play in the NFL. Hmm..weird.
  23. If they were going to lose Davey anyway after the season, they why not keep him until Cassel is ready? Because they have more confidence in Flutie as the backup than Davey. Maybe I am not so saavy, but I just see it as giving Davey a chance with another team, instead of him wasting a season on the roster. I give BellyAche credit for letting him catch on with another team since he is not in the plans for the Pats.
  24. What ever happended to working on vacation? Lost art?
  25. Chicago just named Orton their starter..so I doubt it. Miami would take him, as a backup till he learns the O and can be the starter. Cleveland would be a good fit, but Crennel will buld that team on D, and not try to overhaul the O. The point that should have been made in this thread was that Rohan lost out his slot to Doug Flutie...that is the sad commentary for Rohan.
