  1. I suppose that's one way of putting it. If someone doesn't understand me the first time I say something, I have a tendency to explain it again. I happened to come across a relatively counter-intuitive statistical phenomenon, which I mentioned in passing over on the PPP boards. I thought--wrongly--that others would quickly and clearly grasp what this phenomenon was all about. Most people didn't, so I had to explain it again. It was rather annoying to have been ridiculed for making objectively true statements. To remove any doubt, I provided links to a number of independent, credible websites which supported what I'd been saying. These links were generally misunderstood or ignored.

I tried so hard to teach people about that phenomenon, and most still don't understand it. I've never been a teacher, but I feel I now have a better understanding of some of the frustrations they must endure.

You are one smug fella. I'm not worthy - please explain it to us mortals again. Teach us again - show us the way.

  2. The game was in 89. Frank told me an interesting story about that night. Early in the 1st quarter, his right hand came down hard on a blitzing Kevin Greene's helmet. His finger was dislocated and very painful. He couldn't make a throw all night. If you remember, he got booed pretty good. Then he drives the Bills for the winning Touchdown to Andre Reed on a perfect pass.

Ah memories. Reminds me of our Sabres this year - you can never count them out.

  3. JDG, holcombs arm, doucheluca, anthonyF, cover your ears and get out the kleenex out, because you guys will be crying after reading this...

Losman's going to be the starter going into next season, as per Jauron. Guess that will squash the "Draft Quinn!" yells.

Are you kidding? Do you think this bit of news will bring them out of the closet and post? Nah - it will just anger them more.

  4. Jets fans feel more "corporate" to me and family-ish.  Bills fans are just a hearty bunch.  As for respectful?...I would say Buffalo is in the top 5 for rudest hosts in the NFL.  I've gone to games with buddies who were fans of our opponents (and non -rivals) like Pittsburgh, Oakland, Redskins, etc..  Bills fans would just pummel them with F-bombs and some even wanted to fight. It is always nuts.  I won't bring out-of-town friends to games anymore unless they wear neutral clothes or a Bills hat.  I won't bring my young kids there for a few years.

Its been that way for years. My Father would never take me to a Bills games as kid in the late 70's. We made the trek to Pittsburgh instead. I laugh as a regular at Panthers game at Bank of America stadium, how lame the fans are in Carolina compared to Buffalo. I've been asked to sit down numerous times. The crowd arrives late, leaves early and needs to be motivated to cheer.

  5. I think we all need to send XMas cards to the Houston Texan's organization for deciding to pass the ball on 3rd and 2. Nevermind the fact that they were running all over us that game with some guy named Lundy, but enabling us to stop the clock (with that incomplete pass) and subsequently produce a game winning drive, has changed this team's confidence level - starting with the guy who produced the drive - JP Losman.

Everyone in New Orleans needs to send Christmas Cards to the Texans too. Did anyone watch the freak of nature - Reggie Bush last night? How in the HELL do you pass on this kid for your team? Are they smoking crack in Houston?

  6. Ok I can go through each call and question why passes weren't called....  Yesterday was not the best day for my comments, but they still stand.  We are cheering and delirious with glee (some of us at least) with JP controlling the game as opposed to winning it.

I don't blame JP, but again we have less the 200 yards passing and that to me is Mendoza line for QB's (or in this case offensive coordinators).  That makes 9 of 13 games under 200 yards passing and 4-5 games with under 15 passes....

    Hey Anthony -

Carolina Panthers quarterback Chris Weinke went 34-61, 423 passing yesterday and they got thumped by the Gmen. Do you want to know why? The Panthers can't run OR stop the run - thus they lose.

I'll take JP and his 200 yards passing games, thank you very much.
