  1. Is this from the Department of Redundancy Department?
  2. Outstanding! Not nearly enough Spaceballs references on the board!
  3. 78. Going outside 15 mins before I have to leave to start my car and brush it off.
  4. I think the Jets were 8-8 the year before PC was hired, so I suppose 6-10 was considered a step back. But the team was obviously in decline, as evidenced by their record in the next two seasons. But I believe he was coach of the Jets when he caught some flack for putting his hands around his throat (the "choke" gesture) and taunted an opposing kicker after a critical miss. The consensus was that PC was a little too "Rah rah" for an NFL job. The college game seems to suit him pretty well. The big difference is the recruiting trips, but so far, he has said he loves recruiting.
  5. That's not true: Donovin Darius of the Jags was named the franchise player two years in a row. They didn't sign him to a long-term deal, and didn't lose the tag. Is there a limit to how many years in a row you can tag the same player, i.e. Jags continue to franchise Darius for another 4 or 5 years???
  6. Pete wasn't too bad: He guided the Patriots into the playoffs in his first 2 seasons, winning the AFC Eastern Division title at 10-6 in 1997 and advancing to the second round of the playoffs, then posting a 9-7 regular season mark in 1998. His overall record in New England was 27-21 in the regular season (including 8-8 in 1999) and 1-2 in the playoffs. He owns the franchise's second-best winning percentage (54.9%). The Patriots went 5-11 in 2000 in their first year under Belicheck. He went 6-10 in one season with the Jets, who proceeded to go 3-13 and 1-15 the next two seasons with Rich Kotite. In between those two jobs, he spent 2 years (1995-96) as the defensive coordinator with the San Francisco 49ers, who won the NFC Western Division title both seasons. The 49ers were 11-5 in the 1995 regular season when they had the NFL's top-ranked defense and then went 12-4 in 1996. And, Carroll now coaches USC, where he started 9-8, and has since gone 45-1.
  7. He's franchise tagged this year. While its a pretty good chunk of change (average of the Top 5 salaries at your position,) players don't really like it because they miss out on that huge multi-million $$$ signing bonus. That is a one-time boatload of cash in your pocket. I think they have to sign Brees and trade Rivers. Too risky to keep Rivers and have him suck after the two years Brees has just put up. They have a nice team, and the fans would never forgive them for trading Brees if Rivers didn't pan out. Anyone know- Is there a limit to how many years in a row you can franchise the same player???
  8. That bastard London cost us the game last week. Chambers would have strolled into the end zone past Lawyer and Vincent after he caught that bomb if London wasn't such a hero and hustled back to tackle him. The Bills would've had about 1:40 to get into Lindell's 50-yd range (where we all know he is automatic.) Instead, London tackles Chambers, the Fins patiently milk the clock until striking for a TD with 6 seconds left. Lawyer and Vincent are veterans and can feel a lead slipping away. They knew better than to cover or tackle Chambers. Thanks for nothing London!!! Seriously, the dude has been a horse all year. You just KNOW the losses are killing him, which I cannot positively say for the rest of the squad. Congrats on the MotY honor, an keep up the solid play. Hopefully some of the young bucks will follow LF's example of how to play with pride, as opposed to just talking about it.
  9. 97. It's farking freezing when you're stalking outside you're ex-girlfriend's window. I much prefer summer stalking.
  10. If they gave out a Nobel Prize for eating cheeseburgers, Charlie Weis would win that too....
  11. No arm anymore. Didn't he have the dreaded rotator cuff?? I remember him trying to throw a four-yard out when he was getting a look from the Packers, and he two-hopped it to the guy's feet. Doesn't bode well for Chad and the Jets, as CP has done his shoulder up twice.
  12. People died at Pearl Harbor yesterday? Of what, sun stroke???
  13. I have no reason to say this, and I don't know their financial situation, but I will say the San Diego Chargers. Moulds could have big role in their passing attack, and would have a legitimate shot at a Super Bowl. Hooking up with Brees has to be attractive, and with LT, Gates, and McCardell, he should be able to get open. You know he doesn't want to go to a loser. He knows what no playoffs feels like. Plus, every ex-Bill flees to San Diego.
  14. That's not a bad comparison Fake. Pippen did refuse to take the court in a playoff game following a timeout because the final shot was not drawn up for him. Toni Kukoc proceeded to bury a three at the buzzer with the play Phil Jackson drew up, and the rest is history. He and Phil cleared the air, and he played the next game (obviously it was playoffs, so the stakes were a little higher.) Moulds made a huge error by taking himself out. If you don't like what the offense is doing when you are up 21-0 early in the game, then you have some issues. All NFL receivers are an ornery bunch; even when they are double teamed, they will tell anybody who will listen that they are open. But for Moulds to take himself out of a game, (and not be happy that a young receiver he helped groom scored 3 TD's) is rediculous. Moulds' actions, as well as his words earlier in the season, suggest that he is more content losing, so long as Kelly Holcomb is throwing the ball his way often enough. And you're right, Mularkey turned this whole episode into a real shi+ show. He "excused" Eric, but needs to find out from his boss if he can suspend him. I think benching #80 for 3 quarters last week proved his point. MM should have spoken with him, let him quietly finish out the season, and let Moulds walk. I don't necessarily agree with letting him walk (note Lee Evans' disappearance Sunday after Moulds got benched) but if it wasn't going to happen before, it sure will now. Mularkey is trying to prove a point, and by strongarming the veterans (Moulds and Adams) he's losing respect in the clubhouse.
  15. Uhh, yeah...Sentence structure. Sweet. So, what was in the bag???
  16. Maybe the New England crowd would be louder if the average seat didn't cost $78.
  17. Leave Chesty Sinclair outta this
  18. I think Golic is great. Mike and Mike is a good show.
  19. At the risk of being flogged: Don't let the longing for glory days pull the wool over your eyes. Marv is our franchise's greatest coach, and deserves his Hall of Fame honor. But any coach of the Buffalo Bills from 1988-1996 would be considered their best ever. Anybody would have won with those teams so long as Ted Marchibroda was the OC and nurtured Kelly into the no-huddle QB he became. Marv was outcoached in every Super Bowl. It was not even close. We never got to see Marv coach when he didn't have the most talented team. Is Phil Jackson still a genius even though his Lakers are a last place team?? MJ and Shaq have a way of making a man look smarter, and so do Thurman, Kelly, Reed, Hull, Bennett, Talley, Bruce and Tasker. I love Marv, but I'll never understand why he couldn't utilize two weeks to get the team to play the way they had all season in the Big One. Halftime adjustments??? Pfffawww. Never. Marv did bring resiliency to the organization, and there's no way they rise up from the ashes of Super Bowl defeat 3 times to return to the Big Game without Marv. He deserves all the credit in the world for that. In fact, for the past 5 years, every losing SB team has had a losing record the next season and missed the playoffs ('01 Giants 7-9; '02 Rams 7-9; '03 Raiders 4-12; '04 Panthers 7-9; and now the Eagles are 5-7.) Marv was a great coach of a great team, but I'm not sure what he would do for our current squad.
  20. It works in hockey, but all I know is that Varitek looks like a real clown with the "C" on his baseball uni.
  21. With 3 of the 4 wins this year coming against Gus Ferrotte, Vinny, and the Houston Texans.
  22. Offlimits to the public and Eric Moulds
  23. Yes, there are. Neither defense led their team to an undefeated season, and '85 & '05 both have a 5 in them.
  24. TD bet JP that the Dolphins would win. Once JP led the Bills to a 21-0 lead, TD told Eric Moulds to get out of the game and told Lee Evans to pretend like he's invisible. Predictably, the Dolphins come back to win, and TD wins the bet. JP now has to cut his hair, part it, and dye it winter white.
