  1. I used to believe in JoeSixPack, until the Babe of the Day feature mysteriously disappeared.
  2. If your franchise's home stadium is in New York State, you will not have to travel on the road for any games. That's right, 16 home games.
  3. NOOOOO!!!!!! No taking an M. Williams with the 4th pick!!!!!
  4. KC does not deserve it because they lost to the lowly Bills. SD has had an absolute brutal schedule this season. They have been impressive. Do you think they are happy about suspending Gates for the opener when they lost a squeaker to Dallas? 10-4 would look a lot better than 9-5 right now. Pittsburgh and Jax played well despite losing QB's during the year. It seems Jax has been in this position for a few years running. Me personally, I'd like to see Steelers and Chargers get in. I like Del Rio, but I don't like much else on Jax. Screw KC.
  5. Not to bust balls, or take away from a funny joke, but do 5th graders really have coloring time?
  6. What an absolute joke. I'm sure those self-rightous folks who form the International Socialist Organization had no problem catching rides to school in mom's RangeRover back in the day. Of all the protesters at the Tookie rally, how many do you think got laid that night? Not counting the furry lesbians who I'm sure went at it to prove how "alternative" they are, I'll put the over/under at 0.5.
  7. I'm not familiar with a lot of guys on the roster, so I couldn't say who Connolly should replace. However, the selection committee made it clear that they would not base their team on names (LeClair, Roenick not on team) but rather on who was playing well this year. Connolly has been one of the best, and arguably been the best player on the Sabres, who are playing pretty darn well. Before this season, you're right, ask anyone and they would say without hesitation that Connolly is a bum. But after not playing because of a concussion two years ago, he had a very successful strike season in Europe (Swiss league I believe.) Now with the new NHL rules, the league is made for him. Olympic rules will be the same as the new NHL rules, but with the usual larger skating surface. It's tough to make a case for him in place of somebody else, but had he been selected, it would be tough to say he didn't deserve it. EDIT: Olympics have shootouts, and he's been extremely successful in that regard as well.
  8. That's true. But the major difference I see is when they are off-script. Clinton was a smooth orator when delivering a prepared speech, but was even more so when he was answering questions or making comments off the cuff. Bush is not a smooth speaker, vocally or with his body language. But it is a full-blown disaster when he has to give a response that was not written by somebody else. I used to really crack up and find it comical that a person who grew up in public life could have no skills in this regard, but now it is tough to watch. Even a dry-heave like John Kerry made Bush look terrible in the debates. Put him at a podium next to a seasoned speaker like Tony Blair, and he looks downright idiotic. It's tough to buy in to what a guy is saying when a) you know he didn't write it (not that that means anything; all pol's have speechwriters) and b) he doesn't look comfortable saying it. How am I supposed to believe him when he doesn't appear to genuinely believe himself? And when he does have to do his own thinking, look out!!!
  9. I believe, in this thread, it's "youz guys are cracking me up."
  10. I believe this is a parody of the old Bledsoe vs. JP threads we used to see...am I right?
  11. I've met that guy! He's a piece of work- a real mullet model. One of my good friends worked with him, and we saw him out downtown one night, so my buddy introduced him as "the guy who got arrested doing his girlfriend at the Bills game." His name was Tom something, but my buddy always called him Tommy Salami. I agree. I didn't think it was too bad at all. I would assume this is right on par with other "cold weather, rowdy" stadiums like NYJ/NYG, N.E., Philly, Pittsbugh, Cleveland, etc. As a spectator at MANY home and away games, the crowd was better behaved than I thought. I was expecting worse.
  12. I agree JC. Getting beat down by a sad Oakland team was the beginning of the end. And MM, instead of growing a sack, cried to the media that the Raiders ran up the score. Wah wah.
  13. Honestly, you are probably correct. A lot of the media takes the lefty approach to reporting, especially nightly news and newspapers. But even without the media filter, when it's just Bush giving a speech, he is such a clownish figure. He doesn't command respect when he speaks. He doesn't appear to be in control of his underlings. His doesn't give off the general aura of someone who is "presidential," whatever that means. You just know it when you see it. His smirk, along with the inconsistencies in what he says compared to what actually happens, make him very hard to trust. I have a sincere worry about the people he surrounds himself with. I thought he was a shady operator in 2000, and he's done nothing in 5 years to make me change that opinion of him. I'm sure you're right JSP, his overall approval has a lot to do with the "negative" media stance. But he had to know going in that the war would overshadow all other policies. Any time young Americans are dying, it takes precedent in the media over something like the positive gains in the economy.
  14. Eff Ziggy. He's the type of player we got rid of in Satan. Trade Biron (I think Ruff made it clear earlier in the season that Miller is the future) for a big, clock-eating, bruiser of a defenseman, that's it. The offense is fine, especially if Dumont can come back for the last month/playoffs. BTW, I'm not knocking Marty, 13 in a row is impressive as hell. But 13 games is not his career. He's been here for 5-6 years full time. They obviously weren't sold on him, and he didn't see the ice for the first 13-or-so games of this year. And in this winning streak, the Sabres are scoring. Granted, they're winning a lot of games by one goal, and a goalie has a lot to do with keeping the team in a close game like that. But Marty has shown flashes, even during his streak, of lack of concentration and soft goals. His value is as high as it's ever been, and much higher than the Sabres ever thought it would be. If they can pick up a first-rate D for him, they half to do it, IMO. Miller will play, and play well. Mika is an adequate backup, who could play once every 10 games or so.
  15. Bush divides the masses more than any president I've seen in my lifetime. The guy is a clown, with some shady, conniving, bastards behind him. United we stand? If it's behind Bush, you'd have about 35% the country united.
  16. True that. The guy I go through doesn't allow halfs, but Ravens -3.5 was a similar autolock. I have been employing a theory since about Week 9 that has worked out pretty well: When a bad AFC team is playing a bad NFC team, take the AFC. (Obviously Bills-Saints was the exception to the rule.) I have employed this strategy for good teams occasionally as well, like the Patriots (-6) over Tampa on Saturday.
  17. Solid post, Terrell Owens. Favre has 24 INT this year. 24!!!! That's a lot of bad passes. The guy has got a great history, but he just doesn't have the skills or the players around him anymore. If he doesn't retire, it will just be more of the same next year.
  18. Hey thanks guys. At least the Sabres came through for me! I was apparently too tired to make it to bed on Saturday night, as I woke up Sunday morning on the kitchen floor. It was not as comfortable as it sounds.
  19. I wish there was a handjob smiley doing the jerk-off motion with his arm. That would be my response to this post.
  20. Kevin Costner! Nice
  21. Maybe if the Bills were any good, those drops would've hurt them. Turn Reed's drops into catches this year, and the Bills would be 4-9. He was solid in the preseason when everyone had a woody over Drew Haddad (looks like 31 other teams didn't think Drew was that good either.) He's played well this year and has been probably the most consistent receiver. He won't cost much, since I don't think there will be a huge demand from other teams. Sign him up and bring him back. Assuming Moulds is gone, any familiarity JP has with the remaining receivers is going to be needed.
  22. Bills had the best record in the AFC during the 90's, and 2nd or 3rd best in the NFL. I wonder where that 38-55 ranks them for the 2K's.
  23. How about this? "I had a better sign, but security took it"
