NHL - "Attempt to Deliberate injury"

Like the Hanson Bros with the tin foil? -
My old man carries a 7-wood, and I always gave him some stick about it. But I have to say, I can absolutely cream that club, and 3/4 of the time it is dead straight. He also bought the new 3-wood and 5-wood hybrids. I have played those as well and can put a pretty sweet swing on them. However, I am also able to hit the 3 and 4-irons pretty well, so I'm not sure I myself would carry a 7-wood or the hybrids. Thanks for the info in your post plenz. I'll check out that book, too. I'm excited to play more than just my standard +/- 10 times this year. I am a pretty good athlete, and I've always had a "knack" for golf, but I've never focused or practiced or cared enough to score well. I hope this summer I will have some time to really work at it and improve.

I'm with you LA. The most glaring flaw in my game is the 20-60 yard approach shot. My touch is pathetic. I would say that my lack of confidence in this shot makes me too tentative, because 75% of the time I end up very short. Probably 15% of the time I get too aggressive with it and bomb it long. But there's that sweet 10% of the time when you do exactly what you wanted and drop it in tight. On some of the shorter chips, 30 yards and less, I have been using my 7-iron as opposed to a wedge. I got sick and tired of leaving everything short, and with lack of practice, my touch around the greens was poor. I started pulling the 7 and giving a good run at the pin and at least the chance to get close. Flopping it up with a wedge was leaving too many long putts. That touch would come with enough practice, but like I said, I was never that committed. The good thing about practicing with wedges is that you don't even need a course. Just go out in the backyard with a bunch of balls, set a bucket 20 yards a way, and try to chip 'em in, over and over.

Outstanding. Could your wife/girlfriend even get mad at you if you cheated on her with this girl? My girlfriend would be disappointed, but I think in the end, she would just say, "Yeah, you pretty much had to do it." (At least in my mind that's what she would say. Truthfully, while I was in that fantasy world in my mind, she would probably deliver a stiff kick to my balls.) -
Who's staying up for the game tonight

Meeting my buddy at the local gin mill for a few sodas around 8pm. We should be half-in-the-bag by the 10pm faceoff. Looks like another Friday headache at work. Oh well. -
I must commend you on taking America's #1 Most Wanted Enemy and using him to start a petty debate about political parties. Normally that debate begins in post 3 or 4, but you went for it right off the bat! Nicely done.

Guys, you are all correct, and I appreciate the advice. I know I could get better with lessons...I could also get better by simply playing 1-2 times per week instead of once per month, so I plan on doing that. I'm not buying clubs because I want to drop 10 strokes. I'm buying clubs because I need them, so if you have any recommendations, good or bad, about the clubs you have, I would be grateful for that info. I'm not dogging you LA, you are 100% correct...I'm not looking for a quick fix, I'm willing to work at to get better. I would just like to play a track with some clubs that weren't made before I was born.

Thanks man, I'll give 'em a look. And yes, while I plan on buying on the Web (a little cheaper) I will not buy anything that I haven't actually hit a few balls with. I do have to look around though...Sometimes when the snow is flying in the Northeast, places like Dick's will have some solid sales. Might be different in Florida, since you guys don't really have an offseason!

Totally agree...I know I could get better pretty quickly, but I've never really had the interest to do it. I just liked playing. I've been golfing fairly regularly since I was 11, so my swing is decent. I lose plenty of strokes inside 100yds. Several years ago, I stopped getting angry when I played poorly, because I really didn't play or practice enough to expect to shoot in the 80's. This summer, I plan on playing more, and I wanted to get a set of new (or like new) irons. Like I said, mine were hand-offs, and they've seen their better days. I'm 27 years old and I've never bought a set, so I figure it might as well be time. If all is well, I may even join a club and take full advantage of an on-site pro, etc.

Anybody ever had shoulder surgery?

I can't help you much with your labrum...However, I've done some extensive up-close research on the labia. -
Yeah, I've played quite a few rounds with my grandfather's blades. They're nice when you catch it sweet but not very forgiving. I'll probably go steel shaft, regular stiffness.

Quick question for the golfers in the crowd-- I am an average golfer...Rarely over 100, but I've only broken 90 two times that I can remember. I usually am in the 92-98 range. I feel like I could get better pretty quickly, if only I played more and invested some time and money in it. I think last summer, for as nice as it was, I only played 7-10 times, and 2-3 of those outings were par-3 courses. I don't take it too seriously; more for the beers and the sport of it. I'm swinging some old King Cobra irons that were passed down from a family friend who got a new set. They had some miles on them when I got 'em, and I've had 'em for a good six years or longer. I'm going to buy a new set this year, and was looking for some recommendations. Right now, I'm leaning toward a set of the Taylor Made RAC's. I have the TM Burner 3-wood and 5-wood, and I also had the driver, but the shaft fell victim to a club throwing incident. I was a little angry, but that's all in the past now. Anyhoo, I can crush the TM metal woods, and I figured I'd give the irons a go. But if you guys can point me in a different direction, let me know. I'm probably going to buy on Ebay or the Web, and I'd like to stay around $300-$400 for a 3-PW set of irons. I have swung the RAC's at a range, and I would like to take some swings with a few other brands. What do you guys like?

Sports Illustrated's Top 20 draft prospects lists Mcneil, an OT from Auburn, as their #18 prospect. His little write-up is pretty impressive also. Four-year starter, never allowed a sack, and paved the way for two Top-5 RB's last year. This guy seems to have been thrown aside with all of the D'Brick nut-cupping that's been going on around here. Anyone know anything about this monster?

Would you let a dog smell your breath?
smokinandjokin replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is relatively funny. I would love to put a white lab coat on my dog and have him give me a checkup. I'd maybe even hang a stethoscope around his neck for effect. After I breath on him: One bark = All good Two barks= The dreaded cancer Three barks= Throw the tennis ball Four barks= Stop breathing in my face -

He certainly does. Here is the full-size image that I posted in PPP a few months ago. I love the look on his face.
