  1. That is an excellent question. I'm sure they were understanding folks who would've appreciated the irony of the story. Or, perhaps he did knock, but they couldn't hear him because of the loud rap music playing inside. I was impressed he went and got his keys and was going to drive it away. He isn't the most ballsy dude I know, but that would've been a ballsy move, especially with people home.
  2. Not necessarily. This is the God's honest truth, this happened to a friend of mine, and it is HILARIOUS: He lived in Buffalo off of Main St. on Minnesota Ave, in the 'UB student' section of apartments. He woke up one morning to find that his car was missing. He had parked it in the street. He asked any of his roommates if they had moved it, they said no. So he calls the police, tells them his car has been stolen, and they take a report. They tell him up front that the odds are not good that they will track down his car. About a month later, he is walking with another friend of ours in a 'rougher' part of Buffalo, off of Bailey Ave. They both say it was like something out of a dream. They look down a driveway, and there is a sheet hanging over the garage, no garage door. Just as they are walking by, a gust of wind blows the sheet, and sure enough, there is his car in the garage! He says, "Holy sh*t that's my car." He walked down the driveway (this is in the middle of the afternoon) to take a look and make sure it's his. He can hear loud music coming from inside the house. He gets a good look, confirms it's his, and goes back to his apt to get a spare set of keys. The other friend who was with him drives him back to the house where his stolen car is, and he goes up the driveway. As he goes to open the door on his car, he notices (and this is priceless): THEY PUT 'THE CLUB' ON HIS STEERING WHEEL!!! Now he's pissed, so he goes back, gets in his friend's car, and calls the cops on his cell phone. A female officer at the Buffalo Police Dept. answered, and this was their conversation: My friend: "My name is XXX, is reported a 1992 XXX stolen about a month ago." BPD: "Let me pull your file." Waiting...."Ok, yes, we have you on record." friend: "Well, I found my car. It's at 123 Blah Street. I can see it in the garage. Can you send some officers down so that we can get it?" BPD: "Ah, we don't do that, sir." friend: "What do you mean you don't do that?" BPD: "Well sir, did you see them steal your car?" friend: "What?" BPD: "If you didn't see them steal your car, there's no evidence that they actually took it." friend (pissed): "They have my car!!! I didn't see them steal it, but it's in their garage!!!" After a few minutes of exchanging like this, my friend was getting worked up and the cop was saying "well, we don't do that," she came out with this dandy. My friend was in absolute shock that an officer of the law said this to him: BPD: "Well, I suggest you call up a few friends and go down there and get it back." He was baffled. He went back once more a few days later, and the Club was still on it. After that, he checked a few more times over the next few months and the car was gone. It wasn't anything special, and he actually got more than it was worth from insurance, but the whole story was just priceless. The good ole BPD. "We don't do that."
  3. When he first got signed, he went around with some clown from Channel 2 News in Buffalo, and he was long snapping into various places. Of the ones I remember, he fired one right through a Wendy's drive-thru window, he fired one into the window of a moving car, and probably most impressive, he fired one right into a mailbox on the curb. The opening of the mailbox wasn't much bigger than the football was, and he slipped it right in there. Obviously, there's a good chance editing was involved, as they made it look like he did each one on his first try, which he probably didn't. But he was able to do it nonetheless, which was kinda cool.
  4. Is this legal? I see the rationale, but I also see the right of private employees to spend their own money where they want to. Interesting either way.
  5. I think we all know the Vikings would simply choose not to make a pick.
  6. I'm holding out hope, for the sake of the Bills, that the Jets decide to stick with Pennington and his schoolgirl arm.
  7. Are you sure? I thought it was owned by all of the Patriot fans who seemingly forgot that their three Super Bowls are sandwiched around a season in which the Patsies MISSED THE PLAYOFFS!!! Some dynasty!!! /Sorry, I hadn't tooled on the Patriots in a while. Had to be done.
  8. yeah, the Bills raced right up to the wall above the tunnell endzone and took off the "12th Man" from the Wall of Fame. Texas A&M is making themselves look extremely queer if they choose to fight this fight.
  9. Puhonix is a disaster. I don't even have anything to say. Something just seems absolutely foul about supporting BOTH the Fins AND the Queefs. I'm at a loss for words.
  10. Not while Mike Ricci is still around. And this is one of the better pictures I've seen of him.
  11. And the Sabres and Flyers aren't missing any players due to injury??? Flat out, you said it, the Leafs just suck. Don't make excuses.
  12. My only thought is that the Sabres will wax the Leafs 6-1.
  13. I love it. I kinda wish we'd get him just so we could all run him out of town when he false starts or takes away a TD with a holding penalty.
  14. Marv was so confident, he had a purely incentive-based contract, with only one incentive. He said "Just give me $2million for each Super Bowl we win."
  15. I'll be there for eight days, so we are looking at about four in Prague/elsewhere in Czech and another four bouncing around Eastern Europe. I've heard good things about Budapest in Hungary and Brasov and Bucharest in Romania.
  16. I saw it, that flick was wild.
  17. I'm heading there in March to visit one of my best friends who moved over there last summer. I'm pretty pumped about it, just from what I've read and what my friend has told me. It is supposedly one of Europe's up-and-coming cities but has retained it's "Old World" charm. And from what I hear, the girls are rediculous. I will be travelling there with two other friends from here, and my girlfriend is not thrilled about this excursion. Is sex on a different continent considered cheating??? What if I pay for it??? My friend has been there and back many times (he studied there in college, and his girlfriend of six years is from there) and he decided to move to Prague full-time last summer, so I'm all set with lodging and fun things to do. I'm just looking for people's overall opinion if you have been there before.
  18. Bareback Mounting: The Only Cowboy Movie Where the Good Guys get it in the End!
  19. Who would you place at #1?
  20. I was under the impression the Toronto Argonauts were our sister squad.
  21. Glad I could help tater! I will be sure to post any of the day-to-day activities that I sometimes can't believe happen to me. I was here before they moved the OT to it's own area. It's nice to float over to that board when all is lost over here. There's a new one over there today, but it ends with somebody's mom getting crabs. It was pretty funny but I couldn't really get behind it. Moms and crabs just don't do it for me.
  22. While I am by no means on this guy Cutler's bandwagon, I question why you say he couldn't be another Jim Kelly. Jimbo was a middle of the 1st rounder (14th out of 28) and was the third QB drafted that year, as Cutler will be this year. I really don't know much at all about this kid, but he and Jimbo seem to be similarly rated coming out of college. On the other hand, Manning was a #1 overall and Namath was a #2 overall.
  23. It's cool Piss, I wasn't trying to come off as arrogant. And like I said, I don't read the draft threads. Maybe after the combine, or a week before the draft, I'll look around to see who's who. But right now, we have thread topics that say "My Mock Draft" and the sub-title is "Updated from this morning!!!" I can only imagine there are a few that have the Bills working trades up to get the #3, #5, and #11 picks in the first round, all while signing the three best free agents. As for three years from now, if the Bills miss badly on a draft pick, I sincerely hope that the website still has the "Ask the GM" feature. I will be first in line to let Marv know that PISSCHUNK had Billy Jones as his 7th best DT and 84th best overall...How could we pass him up???
  24. Ruff's comment was that Kasparitis could have made an equally effective play by laying the shoulder into Connolly, but he instead chose to go low and got him on the knee. Ruff and the Sabres aren't saying it wasn't a clean hit, they're just questioning the necessity of it, and especially, the player who delivered it. Something tells me if it was Ray Bourque who threw that hip, Ruff would have said Connolly should have shot the puck in, because that's what happens when you carry it in. Grier also took a 2 minute penalty for roughing with 8 minutes left when he was trying to get Kasparitis to fight. Grier gave him a shove and he went down like a B word. Ruff's quotes, from today's Buffalo News:
  25. Are we really going to continue posting 'mock draft' threads every single day for two-and-a-half months??? I started floating around here in the summer, so I haven't seen the full-fledged offseason mode on the board. If this is what it's going to be like, I'm not sure if I can take it. I have no idea who we are going to pick, and truthfully, I won't care until that name is called. There are way too many draftniks not this board and the only thing you all have in common is that you have no idea what the Bills or the other 31 teams in the league have in mind. I honestly haven't read any of the "My Mock Draft" threads, but there's so many of them, I thought I had to comment. If someone started a "Happy MLK Day" thread last week, most people here would have said, "I didn't know today was Mel Kiper Day!" Anyways, stop reading my rant and go adjust your big boards. Some OG from Montana State just benched 57 reps in 30 seconds!
