  1. Anything? Well, uh I guess I, deep down, am feeling a little confused. I mean, suddenly, you get married, and you're supposed to be this entirely different guy. I don't feel different. I mean, take yesterday for example. We were out at the Olive Garden for dinner, which was lovely. And uh, I happen to look over at a certain point during the meal and see a waitress taking an order, and I found myself wondering what color her underpants might be. Her panties. Uh, odds are they are probably basic white, cotton, underpants. But I sort of think well maybe they're silk panties, maybe it's a thong. Maybe it's something really cool that I don't even know about. You know, and uh, and I started feeling... what? what I thought we were in the trust tree in the nest, were we not? -Frank "The Tank" Ricard, "Old School"
  2. It is certainly valid but is not enforceable. At least I don't see how it could be.
  3. Respect from the media, especially the Canadian media, is drastically overrated. Trust me, the Sabres get plenty of respect from the coaches and players around the league. In November/December, maybe not...But they have sustained their winning ways long enough that they will not sneak up on anyone for the remainder of the year. The Sabres are hovering around 4th-5th in their conference, and just got beat fairly soundly by two Western conference teams. Why is a ranking of 10th in the NHL so disrespectful???
  4. I'd like to see fellow lesbian Cunnilingus Rice in that role. Bill doesn't have time for that bullchit.
  5. Has anyone drafted the 12th Man yet? Apparently he went to Texas A&M.
  6. Ah yes tater, we have all had one too many hot peppers in our day. Thoughts and prayers for the total domination of several men's rooms over the next 24 hours.
  7. While having huge balls doesn't exclude you from termination in Darwin's world, I hate to rip on this dead man. Slapping around your woman and getting brought up on domestic violence charges is not commendable. However, seeing your opportunity to escape, and having the balls to climb under a bus to do it, is the type of gusto and quick thinking that eludes many people. It is a much better attempt than, say, knocking the guard unconscious, stealing his gun, shooting the bus driver, and then driving off in the bus. The major folly in his plan is what he was fixing to do once the bus stopped and he was out of police custody, but still shackled and wearing an orange jumpsuit. I would have liked to have seen him work out of that mess. FWIW, good try...And here's hoping for an eternity of women in the afterlife smacking you around 10x worse than you dished it out to your girl.
  8. For all of you out-of-towners soaking up the sun in the south and west, you may want to consider that Buffalo has been a real hotbed recently. After one of the warmest summers on record, January was rarely below 32 degrees, and it seemed was in the 40's and 50's for days and weeks at a time. Buffalo News Article Interesting: The first week or so of February is projected to be back into more normal, colder temperatures. Hopefully that will not equate to a huge dumping of the ole lake effect.
  9. I have a very positive memory of thinking early on that the Bills were going to win. Tasker blocks a punt, the Bills punch it in for 7...That is the type of score that can implode a team when it happens early on. Unfortunately, it was the Bills who imploded.
  10. I'm willing to bet LeBron could've put up 60+ pts in a few of those games. I'm also willing to bet the Cavs would've been 1-3 or 0-4. I think he had so many assists because he actually felt like winning games. Kobe can complain that he has to take all the shots because he has nobody else on the team. Well Kobe, you did have the greatest center of your generation on your team, and you drove him out of town. And the Cavaliers are not exactly chock-full of All Stars. Ilgauskus is a solid center, and Drew Gooden is adequate. After that, it's all LeBron, and he's making everyone better.
  11. LeBron was named the Eastern Conference player of the week. From January 24 through last night, the Cavs went 4-0, and LBJ averaged 33.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.3 steals in the four victories. He was also the Eastern Conference's Player of the Month in November. Oh yeah, and he just turned 21 on December 30th. Damn!
  12. Yes, exactly. That's all I'm saying. It is not accurate when people say Losman cost us three picks. Losman himself was a 1st rounder, so it only cost the Bills two picks. By the way, with the 0-4 start in '04, I thought it was going to be a very costly trade, as we looked well on our way to giving up a Top-10 pick. Thankfully we won enough games to get it back into the area of the pick we got from Dallas.
  13. Both good points. I agree. This thinking is flawed. You could look back and say this now, but even with McGahee having a demolished knee, there were just as many questions about Larry Johnson's talent and attitude coming out of school. He was hyped because he had several 200+ yard rushing games, and even a 300+ yard rushing game. But those were in blowout wins against Indiana, Virginia, Northwestern, Michigan State, and Illinois. In big games, here's what he did: 68 yds rushing in loss to Iowa, 78 yds rushing in a loss to Michigan, 66 yds rushing in a loss to Ohio State, and 72 yds rushing in a bowl game loss to Auburn. And here's what the scouts said about him coming out of school: "Negatives: Gets off the ball quickly, but does not explode through the holes, as he needs time to accelerate in order to go the distance … Does not have much lateral bounce, but is an effective downhill runner who can turn the corner … Body catches, but still has reliable hands … Needs blocking-technique refinement and must show more aggression in this area … Rounds his cuts in his pass routes." If Losman ends up succeeding, which I grant you is very much up in the air right now, then we really didn't give up that much. A 2nd and a 5th round pick is not that much to give up if you find a franchise QB. (You can't say they gave up a 1st because they gained a 1st in the process.)

  15. I saw exactly the same thing Darin. When Vanek didn't score for the first 15-odd games of the season, he seemed to have a little pout going. It was like everything that had always worked in the past, like little dekes and 360s and fancy stuff, suddenly wasn't working, and he was not going hard because of it. I said it would be nice to see him poke in a rebound while taking some lumber across the back, instead of trying for the highlight reel goals. He has started to do that, and many of his recent goals have been a result of camping out in front on the PP. I'm sure guys like Drury made an impression on him, but I would assume someone like Gaustad had a bigger effect. Vanek knew he was supposed to be our next gun, and when he sees a fellow rookie having success, especially one who was a low-round pick and not even expected to make the team, it had to wake him up and realize he is going to have to work for everything he gets. Also, back to AO: Ovechkin had about 10 goals on that highlight clip that were better than anything I've seen this year. I had seen highlights here and there and I knew the guy was lighting it up, but what I liked about the link posted above was the body checks. The dude is going to be a force for a long time.
  16. I saw that episode, it was great. The Daily Show correspondant went to a gay rodeo, and then afterwards, he was talking about it to a straight, homophobic cowboy. The DS guy said, "It was so gay. There were guys walking around in tight jeans and leather chaps, and they had little vests on and cowboy hats, and they were riding around on ferocious bulls...(laughing) It was so gay!" And the cowboy is looking at him, and he says, "Well actually, the leather chaps and vests and cowboy hats are standard for every cowboy." The Daily Show guy was just staring at him like he was a homo. It was funny. The best line (you mentioned it above) was the cowboy saying "I don't mind what they do on their own time, just stop cramming it down my throat."
  17. What a visionary!!! All of the sudden, 3% of the league (1 team out of 32) is considered "trade interest." Come on man, everyone knows he is going to play football somewhere next year. This is the NFL. Even Lawrence Phillips got a second and third chance in the league, and he was 1/10th the talent and 10x the baggage of T.O. You can stop massaging your ego now.
  18. I was talking about this the other day. In general, they seem to have really good fans. They travel well and are always fairly knowledgable and boisterous. However, the dang towel-waving really turns me off. It is pretty gay. I would be able to get behind the Steelers in this game if it wasn't for the TT's.
  19. I have never donated blood, and I do not even know my own bloodtype. Pretty poor, huh?
  20. I love the crowd shots of the players' girlfriends. Tennis players definitely pull some box. It only makes me more angry at my parents for making me give up the game at the age of 12 because of some severe racket throwing incidents. An instructor told my mom that I had "a real competetive fire, but it's the kind the will end up burning the house down." I remember from last year's Aussie Open, Marat Safin has a gorgeous chick. EDIT: Safin's girlfriend, with the obligatory "this picture doesn't do her justice."
  21. Essentially, TD traded Peerless Price for Bledsoe and McGahee. I'd say he did pretty damn good on that deal. Bledsoe came in and made a 3-13 team with no identity 8-8 and a playoff contender for 3/4 of the season. Obviously it didn't pan out, but looking at the state of the franchise at the time, I don't understand how you could say it was a bad move.
  22. I knew he was rediculously talented, and he was expected to score a boatload of goals, which he is. But I had no idea he threw his weight around like that. I also think Vanek will be a goal-scoring force eventually, similar to Mogilny but with less speed and more trickery. But the little bit that I have seen from Crosby and Ovechkin, Vanek is not at their level this year. Vanek's highlight video would pale in comparison to what I just watched Ovechkin do.
  23. I think TKO would be on the top of everyone's list. We might as well say that you are fighting three people, and on your side it's yourself, TKO, and one other Bill. Who would that other Bill be? I would have to go with Stamer. He seems to have a screw loose. Hopefully we are not fighting Ray Lewis and his two buddies. There's an excellent chance you would leave that fight with a stab wound.
  24. It's about time. Now with both coordinators out of here, we can begin the process of running the next two guys out of town.
  25. Yup. They didn't seem to be. In fact, when my friend gave the address over the phone, the cop said they are not showing that house number on that street as a valid residence. My friend said, "Well, there's a house, and there's a garage, and my stolen car is in it." Hilarious. It is magic to actually hear him tell the story. He gets all fired up.
