You throw the fastball or the curveball tater? I bowl probably twice a year too, and I've got no chance with the curve ball. I come with straight heat. I am also an advocate of the "halfway down the lane in the air" roll as well.

Never rolled in a league, but here's mine: Avg: 9 beers High game: 156 (and that was at age 13- child prodigy anyone?) High set: no clue. There was a bartender at these lanes that must've had 34D's, that was a pretty nice set.

remember clocks ahead this weekend

But what is 'time' really? -
She was on Howard Stern when he was still on normal radio when she said that. The funniest part was, the Mets had just signed Pedro Martinez. Remember during Boston's World Series run when Pedro was carrying around that little Dominican midget actor? Someone called into Stern after she said she would bang the whole Mets team and staff if her husband cheated on her, and asked if now that Pedro was on the team, would she also bang the little midget? I thought that was great.

I'm not looking for jokes. I'm looking for one question that you may have asked or been asked that was different from the typical "Describe a time when you took the initiative to....." In an hour interview, I have plenty of time to ask the "interview" questions. I like to see the reaction of someone having to answer a question they have never thought of before. Not looking for wise guys, just looking for someone who is personable and can think on their feet. And by the way, everyone lies in interviews. It's the interviewer's job to see through that.

I'm filling a position at work for a Supervisor who will report to me. I always like to throw a few off-the-wall (that terrible pun was intended!) questions at them. Since everyone here has probably has experience on at least one side of the interview table, what's the best question you have ever asked or been asked in an interview? Mine was probably for my current position, I was interviewing with a fairly high-level manager. He was talking about himself and said he used to live in Tampa. I had just happened to be in Tampa the weekend before visiting friends, so I told him that. His first response: "Did you go to Mons Venus?" (For the unenlightened, Mons is one of the finest nude lady dancing establishments in the US.) And yes, I did attend, and yes I told him so. That was my favorite.

This kid seems a little smarter than I was as a three year-old. At Playland amusment park, I wasted about $30 trying to win at the Claw game. I was unsuccessful everytime, and I was getting REAL mad, pounding on the glass with my fists. Luckily, my drunk uncle was there, and he was getting a real kick out of my shenanigans, so he kept feeding me money. Had I known I could've just climbed in....

Heading for Mongolia tomorrow
smokinandjokin replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I noticed the same thing LA! I'm not sure OTR would be able to reject our prayers for safety, even if we sent them as late as the 15th or 16th!!! -
Heading for Mongolia tomorrow
smokinandjokin replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wouldn't it be a real bummer if you were injured in some freak accident on April 10th at home, all because you said you would only accept prayers for safety until April 9th??? Not that I want that to happen, just seems like one of those cosmic things. -
What's going on with the Sabres????
smokinandjokin replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure what you've been watching, but Lindy is not shy about handing out the benchings. See Vanek and Kalinin from the 3rd period last night. Pominville is one of the few players lately who bring it every night. That used to be the whole team's M.O., but there are definitely a few passengers along for the ride during this losing streak. Taylor Pyatt has a way of making whatever line he's on the Sabres worst line of the night. I'm pretty sick of him and want him gone. Defense is shakey, but we knew this the whole time. Darcy needed to get Fitzpatrick off the ice, but maybe there really wasn't anything offered. I'm sure Darcy would've preferred an impact today as oppossed to a 2nd-rounder tomorrow-- I just hope he explored all options for making this happen. The real story has been goaltending. All season, if teams got three goals on Miller, they were typically three solid goals. No gimmees. And three was rare; he was allowing 1 or 2 on most nights. Now, it is an automatic 4 or 5, with one or two of them qualifying as "softees." And that was even before the losing streak, when the Sabres were able to score 6,7,8 on their own to pull out the win. If you keep losing by one goal, even with a weak defense, you need your goalie to be the difference and make that one save he probably shouldn't make. -
Does this thread really have 77 posts with no mention of "Taps?" I was at two separate funerals where the deceased was buried with full military honors. I was pretty stoic until the solo trumpet playing Taps. It seems everyone loses it at that point. Somehow the song manages to be beautiful, tragic, and honorable all at the same time.

Sabres/Thrashers Center Ice blackout?
smokinandjokin replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You think Tommy Golisano is a billionaire because he is stupid??? Three weeks off, everyone jonesing for some hockey, it's a value game, so they black it out on TV. I badly want to watch the game, but I can't argue with the move. I think it's brilliant. Goal and an assist for Briere tonight, no doubt. -
Teams aren't scared of little guys thanks to the play of Steve Smith and Santana Moss last year, as well as the Pats receiving corps the past few seasons. The article cites Moulds (among others) as one of the prototype 'big' receivers teams used to look to draft. He also mentions Evans and Parrish as two of the 'littles' to make an impact.

If we're gonna draft a TE this year I say we

Oh My.....Howard stern needs to offer,
smokinandjokin replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt. Thanks to all the haters for your contribution to the thread where fans are discussing a show. The "Howard sucks, his fans are idiots" posts have added incredible insight and made me see the light. Tater- what type of role is the Whack Pack playing on the new shows??? -

Say what you want about his material, he is the best interviewer that I have ever heard. He gets people to talk about things that nobody else can. He asks the questions everyone else wishes they could ask. He blows Oprah, Brian Williams, and the 60 Minutes crew out of the water with his interviewing skills. That's why he's remained so successful on the radio for so long. I didn't convert to Sirius when he switched, but I did listen every morning on FM. It wasn't his lesbo/porn star/sexual material that was getting old. It was his constant bitching about the FCC that got old. But to call him a no-talent hack who gets by with cheap sexual laughs is way off base. He knows his audience and he gives them what they want, without compromise. That may not be genius, but it's pretty damn smart. -
He was great as Billy Madison's father.

Vince Young and the Wonderlic
smokinandjokin replied to gobillsinytown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Vince Young tied U of Miami's Frank Gore for the lowest all-time score on the Wonderlic. The score probably doesn't matter much if you are a RB, but as a QB, that is not good. For VY, a player who's best ability (running) will be neutralized by NFL LB's, and who's throwing is suspect, this test score could drop his stock. -
Bills potential pick expect to be at 340 lbs
smokinandjokin replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
340 lbs with 10% body fat? Sounds like 34 lbs of man meat to me! Get ready, all you horny females of WNY!!! Talk about clogging the middle! -
That's flat out hilarious. There are so many other places you could've picked (Cheektowaga, the Falls, Salamanca) but Depew was perfect. Cracked me up good.

No chit! Folly's a real cool spot. Three of my good buddies moved down there on a whim, and none of them have been able to leave. They've been down there five years, so I've been down a bunch to visit. I spent a week there over July 4th in 2004- one of the absolute wildest and best vacations I have ever taken. Charleston is a great city, and the golf courses are magic.

Yes! A classic!

If you are just looking to chill out and give your girl the ole pickle tickle, rent a beach house in Folly Beach, SC. Real laid back, not touristy at all, and only about 20 minutes to the gorgeous city of Charleston.
