  1. What??? I've heard many, many people say this is the best place to see a show. I've NEVER heard anyone say it was the worst. I've seen probably 10-15 shows at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center, for those questioning) and I thought it was a FANTASTIC place to watch a concert. The amphitheater is cut out of the middle of the woods, great sound, great backdrop....What didn't you like?
  2. Allman fans who haven't already should make sure to check out the Derek Trucks Band. They are pretty sick. I just saw Haynes and his side project, Gov't Mule, at the end of July here in Buffalo. Always solid. I have seen the ABB eight times, and I enjoy Petty, but I couldn't make it to the show last night due to softball playoffs. At least we won... I have tix for Sept 28th and 29th to see Clapton in Madison Square Garden...Trucks is playing slide guitar on his fall tour. With the Bills home opener on the 24th, my anticipation and restlessness for that week is getting more and more rediculous by the day!
  3. Good God! I had to quickly close the link for fear that Stone Phillips and Dateline NBC would knock on my door for looking at 11-year old girls on the web!
  4. It's a fair comparison of coaching decisions, but probably not a fair comparison of QBs. Palmer was a Heisman winner from a big-time school and a #1 overall pick. Losman was a 2-year starter for Tulane and the #23 pick. I'm not saying by any means that Losman does not have the tools to be as good or better than Palmer. I'm saying that a #1 overall pick SHOULD give you premium quarterbacking. With a #23, certainly you expect results, but maybe not in his 2nd year as a starter. Ahh yes, the memories are a bit cloudy due to massive alcohol intake, but thanks to this article, I can pinpoint the exact moment that I said "F--- this" and walked out of Qualcomm Stadium last November.
  5. Maryland could be a strange school...Maybe being a football player wasn't working for him, so he joined the chess team to score some kitty.
  6. Perhaps for a bottle of liquor, the guy at the front desk will tell you which apartment the girls by the pool live in...
  7. Oh yeah, it was not like a typical Stone film at all, which I agree is a major positive. I was skeptical, but a friend of mine saw it first, and said (to my surprise) that Stone did not layer the script with conspiracies and lay blame for what happened that day. He really did stay out of his own way, and the result was a very touching depiction of real life events. I was RELIEVED...I did not want to pay $10 for the typical Stone craziness, especially considering the topic...
  8. I knew I left out somebody! Can't believe I forgot Milloy. Didn't forget Mawae- he made his name with the Jets but he started with Seattle and didn't play 10 years in the AFC East. Milloy certainly did, though.
  9. Excellent! They are on the case!
  10. I find the title of your thread offensive and unsympathetic to our country's Native American history and heritage. Perhaps Ahr & Ahr & Associates can step in with some representation here...
  11. Camp brawls are awesome. I think an NFL coach would have to be fairly upset if there wasn't at least one bruhaha during TC. I was at the track in Saratoga last year, with my buddy from Florida who is a big Jets fan. One afternoon we went to SUNY-Albany where the NYG hold training camp to see the Jets-Giants scrimmage. A huge brawl broke out, it was fantastic! It's so funny to watch the elderly refs and coaches continuously blow their whistles, but nobody REALLY wants to jump in with those animals. It went on for quite a few minutes. If you have some vets on the squad who have seen all of this before (like Milloy) and can squash the differences quickly after the fistacuffs, I think it can be pretty healthy. Shows the boys are ready to go.
  12. Yet another in a long list of positives for breast implants. Also, thank God for dib's avatar, and thank God for threads about breast implants.
  13. That division is very tough. Brooks is good enough to lead the Raiders to a 4th place finish.
  14. The only reason there was any sort of QB controversy last year was because after finishing 9-7 in 2004 and narrowly missing the playoffs, the fans and the media and the coaching staff all believed we had a top-5 defense and a legit chance at the playoffs. Once Losman began to struggle, Mularkey decided the team was still good enough to win and maybe the QB was the issue. So Holcomb won two cupcake home games against the NYJ and Miami, and suddenly we thought we could make a run at the division. Well, it turns out, the team wasn't good enough. There were many other glaring issues besides the QB play. That's why this year, a controversy wouldn't happen. If JP is named the starter, he will play unless he's injured. The team is probably not going to the playoffs this year, regardless of the QB. If JP does get injured, I'm very happy bringing Holcomb off the bench. He's a very capable band aid backup, but is by no means a starter. Once JP is healthy, get Holcomb off the field. So I'd start JP, but I wouldn't cut Holcomb. He came here to be the backup, he's making backup money, let him be the backup.
  15. This is a Bills message board, my man. You will eventually find someone who can help you, but don't be shocked if some others poke a little fun. That's just the way it goes. By the way, if it's serious replies you are looking for, I believe the IRS has their own message board. You may find some anwers at: www.grabyourankles.com
  16. Very well made. Ollie Stone was VERY restrained; he did not force the script, and did not make cheap tugs at emotion. He simply told a true story without politicizing the events or attempting to explain them in a cosmic sense. In the end, the move does not try to solve any questions of why someone would commit such a horrible act, or what should have been done to prevent such an act...It is story of survival during one of the country's darkest hours, and depending on how the movie speaks to you, you can end up leaving the theater feeling uplifted.
  17. Anybody ever had a Frisco Freeze burger? Tacoma, WA...not quite In'N'Out but definitely in the same league. Outstanding!
  18. It will be strange not to see these guys in the division this year: Willie McGinnest (now with Cleveland) played with the Pats since '94 Ty Law (now with KC) played with the Pats & Jets since '95 Curtis Martin (injured) played with the Pats & Jets since '95 Adam Vinatieri (now with Indy) played with Pats since '96 Eric Moulds (now with Houston) played with the Bills since '96 Sam Madison (now of the NYG) played with the Dolphins since '97, this would've been his 10th year in the division. Overall, a very talented, classy group.
  19. I get dumber every time I read your posts. That was a very impressive ride on the retard rodeo. Looks like it was a wild weekend keepthefaith. Anyways, I did notice JP step up in the pocket and then make a completion, where last year he definitely would've taken off running. Actually, I didn't read the post, but I'm sure Pyrite Gal already mentioned everything I noticed so I'll just stop there.
  20. Anyone know if she takes her beef animal style?
  21. I like the 'village' facade concept that they are planning (from the pic in the article in post #1.) I think it should look pretty good. Wacka, I was unaware that Cheektowaga was on the rise and had the world by the balls until the Galleria Mall came in and ruined everything. Thanks for the history lesson.
  22. So sorry I doubted you Phillip Rivers! You are currently the 2nd greatest QB in the NFL, behind only Jay Cutler.
  23. It is a summertime ritual that Aiken has an outstanding camp and catches everything in the preseason. Then he disappears in the offensive plans during the regular season and makes his mark on special teams. I'm not ready to place him in the category with a guy who routinely caught 80+ passes per year for the Bills after one preseason game. Losman seemed to have confidence in him and was looking for him in the Carolina game, but Aiken was the most talented receiver on the field at that point. He will make the team as a #5 receiver, behind Evans, Price, Parrish, and Reed. I don't see him in the Moulds ballpark.
  24. If you think Mesi's a stiff, why are you paying attention to him? We all know his career path, with his near rise to the top, and then the injuries. I think everyone knew, even when he was a hot commodity, that he wasn't going to be a superstar. He was struggling to beat some mediocre talents... But why do you get to tell him when to retire? Just because the guy is not fighting in the matchups you consider to be worth your attention, why does he have to stop? Boxing is all he's ever known and wanted to do, and he's still young. He will have plenty of time to sit around figuring out what to do next. In the meantime, if he wants to fight in front of 400 people in Montreal or at the Arkansas State Fair, I think he should do it. You don't have to buy a ticket, or watch, or much less start a thread (and post a link to an article) wondering if his fights are even news worthy. I don't necessarily disagree with you about Mesi, but I for one am not the type to sit at my computer as I drink a beer and eat a hotdog and tell a professional athlete that he should retire because he's not competing at a level that is up to MY standards. I think every athlete should be entitled to "Drink every drop" as they say, and retire when they feel like they don't have the desire to compete anymore.
  25. I didn't jump for joy, it simply confirmed what I already new. Holcomb is not an NFL-caliber starting QB. They should pencil him in to the backup role today and let Losman get the bulk of the snaps, with Nall getting #2 reps when his hammy is healed. Regardless of who starts, Holcomb becomes the #2 on Sept. 10th. Holcomb's INT was a horrible read, and it seems obvious that teams will start picking up on the fact that he always looks for the short receiver (see also: the lob to Shelton for 6 yds on 3rd & 15.) To make matters worse, his 7-yard out throws hang in the air forever. Granted JP had many more opportunities, and was not playing against the toughest defenders, but he showed he has the tools and the confidence to make plays. He definitely did not look as jittery as he did last year. I would be upset and embarrassed for the franchise if I have to watch Kelly Holcomb as the starting QB this season.
