  1. Very nice Guff. However, please leave the magic that is White Castle out of the Long Island bashing. It may not be much for dinner time, but at 3am there is nothing better. Every time I've been in White Castle I've seen something hilarious happen.
  2. Seriously! He could've picked numerous games in which Spikes had 0 solo tackles and 2 assists to post this. Instead he waits until after TKO's best game of the season (by far.) The fact that he was the Bills' player of the game even when the opponent's back rushed for 180 tells me that he had an excellent game. He looked MUCH less tentative about his injury yesterday than he has all year.
  3. I didn't think he was going to Miami, so I haven't been proven wrong. If Paterno retires from Penn State, and he turns that down, then I'll be wrong. He'd be an idiot to go to Miami, where he's essentially set up to fail. He can't fail at Rutgers because expectations are so low. It's not my ego that prevents me from seeing anything. It's the fact that there was a VERY real chance that if all other teams kept winning, Rutgers could've gone undefeated and would've finished ranked no higher than 5th or 6th (behind at least 3 one-loss teams.) Would that EVER happen at Penn State or Miami?
  4. Don't worry Ed, I'll handle this one. Schiano would not take the Texas job. He said he doesn't want to go anywhere else and he has integrity. Why would he go to a team who lost three games this year when he already coaches a better team? He gets mad when people make fun of Rutgers, probably because it's so easy to do. And he's got a big buyout in his contract. Plus his wife hates Texas. And he's from NJ and he's building a house. It's a Jersey thing- you wouldn't understand. And how could he leave when he has Ed waiting under his desk in the a.m. for his morning fellatio?
  5. I went 7-1 and made $890 on NFL this weekend. I took: Cincy (-3) on Thursday Buffalo (+6.5) Atlanta (pick'em) Cleveland (+5) Pittsburgh (-7) Arizona (+6.5) NYJ (-1) 49ers (+7)- spoiled a perfect weekend
  6. Did Rutgers make the Final 4?
  7. I didn't accuse them of choking. I just said they shouldn't be upset with the bowl game they go to, and they are the third-best team in a bad conference. A chance to play in a BCS bowl, and their incredible, lightning-fast defense gives up 42 points? Against a backup QB who didn't complete 50% of his passes? Sweet. USC had their chance and blew it. I'm not crying about it. Please let me know when Rutgers gets to the point that playing Michigan in the Rose Bowl is a letdown.
  8. Yes, UCLA was 4th in the PAC-10. Don't discount the rivalry factor, though. You can't even begin to comprehend how big that game is, especially for the Bruins (since USC has the ND rivalry as well.) I was extremely nervous about the game Sat morning, because USC had won 7 straight vs. UCLA. Maybe if Seton Hall had a football team you would know something about rivalries...but rarely does one team run off a buch in a row like that. USC was due for a loss. Your continued badgering of other teams (i.e. Penn State) when attempting to convince everyone that Rutgers actually matters is growing tiresome. Did USC 'choke' with a title berth on the line? Sure you could say that. At least their offense certainly did. But they won their conference and are going to their 5th straight BCS bowl. Playing in the Rose Bowl after the losses they sustained (12 players from the '05 team were drafted into the NFL) is what I would call a successful season. I'm not sure why Penn State's 4 losses or USC's loss to UCLA would make you feel better about your garbage team failing to get off the bus in Cincy, or losing to a backup QB in Morgantown.
  9. They can't be that mad. Losing to a team who's QB only threw 18 passes all year (none of them in a meaningful situation) with a BCS berth on the line proves that Rutgers is the third-best team in the conference.
  10. I agree, that Oklahoma b.j. was a mess in '03. Not only did they lose their conference title game, it wasn't even close. K-State won 35-7 or something like that. They were such a distant #1 before that game that they fell only to #2 in the BCS. Nebraska did the same thing in '01, getting crushed by Colorado in the Big 12 final 62-30something, but holding at #2 in the BCS. Both OU and UN proceded to play like total dogschit and lost in the finals. USC finished the regular season #1 in both the AP and Coaches polls in '03 but was #3 in the BCS behind LSU and OU.
  11. IMO, Florida has earned it. My thinking, flawed as it may be, is that the national champion should be able to win their own conference.
  12. What did Grier bring in the playoffs that will be so hard to replace? He skated his ass off, and finished every check, but every Lindy-team has always done that in the playoffs. Hell, Miro used to skate hard and hit when they got to the playoffs. Grier was good at what he was good at (if that makes any sense) but if losing him is the missing cog, then this team isn't Stanley Cup caliber anyways. His time here was well spent, but I think there's probably 40 guys in the league and 2 or 3 on the Sabres who can bring what Grier brought, and more. A 2nd-year Paul Gaustad comes to mind immediately.
  13. I'm still trying to figure out what about my post wasn't factual, other than Chicago leading by 30 rather than 27.
  14. I'm not upset but I will discount it. These results are from a website that I believe YOU posted in another thread: 6-0 vs. Conference USA- whose supposedly 'good' teams went to the Big Least. 6-0 vs. MAC- wow, impressive. By the way, MAC teams are 9-39 out of conference. 6-0 vs. D1-AA teams- wow! Another nice one. 1-AA teams are 7-71 vs. all D1 teams. 2-0 vs. the Sun Belt- strength of schedule! Sun Belt is 10-30 out of conference. Oh yeah, don't let me forget, the Big East is 2-0 against the best conference in the country, the SEC: West Virginia beat last place Mississippi State and Louisville beat middle of the road Kentucky. Is that what the Big East does? Sends their big dogs to beat the dregs of the major conferences, while the other Big Leasts beat up on the MAC and D1-AA teams? Sorry to discount the wins, but....it's official...The Big East sucks. But don't worry, hoops has started.
  15. ESPN, NFL Network, Fox, and NBC all suck hard, and I refuse to watch any of those channels for more than 8 hours a day. Gumbel sucked so bad last night I could only take 4 quarters of his b.s. then I had to shut it off. to everyone on TBD and their announcing skills
  16. !@#$ it. Let's go bowling.
  17. I can't say I disagree, but hopefully the Buckeye's 50-day layoff throws everything out of whack. I honestly can't remember the last time USC was an underdog, but I expect they'll be getting 5 or 6 if they make it to Glendale.
  18. Derek Trucks Band- "Songlines"
  19. The Big East is so bad, a team coming off of a loss to the powerhouse that is South Florida is a 10-point favorite over potential champion, formidable Rutgers University. And the line opened at 7. I guess the entire gambling public also thinks Rutgers sucks. A BCS berth on the line and the public perception is that they're going to lose by at least 11. Cue: Ed telling us that Slaton is fast, but Rutgers' defense is faster.
  20. I've never had an online account, but from what I've heard, I don't think I'd really like it. All cash, all the time. Plus, if I have to pay out a sizable sum, the guy usually gives me a bottle of vodka. Betonsports.com can't offer that... I've heard you have to pay to cash out winnings/pay for shipping?
  21. Hot damn, lucky day!!! I had similar thoughts and yesterday I teased the Bills up to +109.
  22. A well-hung homeless loser, thank you.
  23. The best joke around here is in your pants.
  24. Jessica Simpson has a sex video.
  25. I guess I just read it as you were planning on taking them, not that you had them already. Unfortunately, I use a bookmaker and he doesn't offer advanced wagering. Gotta wait until gameday to call in. It's painful sometimes because there's games that I would jump on on Monday that are +/- 2 or 3 points by Sunday. I did the same thing in the 2nd Bills-Pats game in Buffalo. I hammered heavy on New England. I actually caught a lot of flak in the parking lot from people telling me I was an idiot, and an ass, and not a fan. I AM an idiot and an ass, but I'm ALWAYS a Bills fan. I said, "Hey man, I'll gladly turn this money over if the Bills win. I'll be rooting for them. I'm just placing a wager that says they won't win. Nothing more, nothing less." The danger is the Bills losing by 3. That's when it all goes wrong.
