19,000 Titans vs Bills Tickets left
smokinandjokin replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? I think 64K is nuts. There's 18K left, which brings us immediately to 54K. Add to that, a bunch of season ticket holders who probably will not attend due to family obligations over the holiday, and we could be looking at somewhere in the high 40K to low 50K. The only hope is that a lot of people back in town for the Christmas weekend spur some walkup sales, but I'd have to assume it will look like a preseason game with less than 60K in attendance. -
Montreal has impressed me everytime I've seen them, both last year and this year. Huet has been on fire, and even though they have an excellent team, the goalie will likely be their meal ticket (much like the Sabres.)

I am famous for showing up at my friend's house with the ol' 11-pack. He lives about 15 minutes away from me, or as I like to call it, a 1-beer ride!

USS Beast of the Mid-East That should spur some solid international relations.

I'm just the opposite. I'm 0-3 in the uppers and 1-0 in the 100's. I'm not that excited that the team has only lost 7 games all year, and I've been at 3 of them! (Leafs, Montreal OT loss, and Ottawa on Sat. The victory was Carolina early on.)

No panic here, I think we all know the Sabres are still one of the top teams in the league, and have probably the best chance of being the top seed in the Eastern Conference heading into the playoffs. That said, a few areas of concern that have bubbled up recently, as well as some other random thoughts: -Special teams (particularly the stale power play.) Keep working Timmy Connolly! -Miller starting 14 games in a row. This team has visions of a Stanley Cup. But let's not forget that Miller played into June last year, but that was with the benefit of rest from an injury and the Olympic break. With aspirations of playing well into June this year, I wouldn't mind at all seeing Marty in there every 6-7 games or so. Not that I'm worried about Miller; I'm not. But he has had a few games during this stretch where he was not as sharp as we're used to seeing him. He's also been brilliant at times. -Same issue with Campbell. I know he can handle playing 30 minutes a night. But do we need him doing it in November and December, when we're still hoping to be playing in six months? He's playing at an All Star level, but let's not wear him down while playing a call-up for 5 minutes a night. -Other teams have caught on to the Sabres break-out schemes and are taking steps to ensure the Sabres don't generate offense on the rush. Buffalo can expect most teams to forecheck with one and keep four guys back for the rest of the year. That means a lot more dumping in and doing the dirty work in the corners. They have proven in years past and even at times this year that they can be successful grinding down low...They just need to be more consistent. Again, not worried. -The offensive distribution has been weak lately. Most of the offense has come from three guys: Briere, Max, and Vanek. Drury has the numbers but he has fallen off a bit lately. They need some production from ice-cold forwards Kotalik, Pominville, and Roy. Those guys are no longer welcome surprises as fill in's for injured Dumont and Briere; we are counting on them for offense. If Lindy can get two of those three going at the same time, they will be in good shape. -Tallinder comes back in a week, which will be HUGE. He was the best defenseman in the league during his pre-injury playoffs last year, and was playing at the same level early on this year. Add to that, Lydman seems to struggle with everyone he plays with until he's paired with Henrik, and then he plays like a #1 defensman. Tallinder's return can't be understated, and can't come soon enough. The bright spot: Paetsch has played admirably in his place, and would be a solid #4 or #5, much less #7. -In the midst of cursing the Sabres for their performance last night, it became very hard to worry too much about a Buffalo loss when Rob Ray reminded the viewers about Bob Gainey's daughter swept out to sea. There's never a good time for tragedy, but the holidays somehow makes it worse. Condolences to the Gainey family; here's hoping your daughter is at peace. And thanks to Ray and MSG for putting the game in perspective for me. -The Sabres are in a GREAT spot and are well-positioned for when the season TRULY starts in January. Should be six full months of excitement in '07!

Hahaha...We used to have some good times in college when the Nuggets would play the Blazers...It was always a 'highly' anticipated game...You could hardly see the TV through the haze!

Sabres-Canadiens tonight at HSBC

Buffalo and Montreal have played four times this season, and each one has been an incredible game. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but all four games between these two have gone to OT, right?) If you are there, it feels like a tennis match the way both teams fly up and down the ice. I was at the game Montreal won in Buffalo, when Souray scored with 1 second left in OT to win it 2-1 for the Habs. For a low-scoring game like that, it was one of the best regular season hockey games I can remember seeing live. The Sabres return to the ice tonight with their team goal of not losing two straight in jeopardy, after falling to Ottawa on Sat night. I think tonight is the night the Sabres get the PP going, and get Kotalik going also. Two goals for #12 in a 5-2 Sabres win.

24 Karat Gold over by the Ford plant is a cozy place to watch the 4pm games, among other things...

Although we never saw him in game action, Randall Pink from "Dazed and Confused" did hit Wooderson right in stride with the car keys on a post pattern over the middle. It's clear that he is the man, as evidenced by how nervous the whole team gets when he says he won't sign the "Committment Papers." But bonus points to Pink for effectively saying that he wants to drink beers and smoke grass in-season.

NFL playoff tie breaker Procedures

No, no...#11 is the two respective coaches measuring penises. I'm not worried about Jauron...I mean, the guy's name IS Dick.... -
You would've preferred if Willis didn't reverse fields and ran 6 yards for a 4 yard loss?

I can't see how the Bills finishing the season with 7 wins in 9 games (and losing only to Indy and SD by a combined 4 points) is backing your way into the playoffs. I consider backing in losing your last two, but having the fortune of your closest opposition losing as well, and your team benefits. If the Bills make it they will be heading in on a four-game winning streak. That shouldn't diminish the accomplishment because other teams nosedived their way out of contention. I agree with your other points. A night game would be nice next year. Anywhere but Foxboro. I'm sick of that schit. -

Carmelo Anthony receives 15 game suspension
smokinandjokin replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It was only a cheap shot because Melo ran away like a girl. If he stood there and rumbled, everyone would've had a lot more respect for him. I agree with tater, when a brawl is going on, you can't run your mouth and then act surprised when you get tagged. George Karl in the locker room after the game (drinking a Miller High Life): George Karl: Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast. J.R. Smith: It jumped up a notch. George Karl: It did, didn't it? Carmelo Anthony: Yeah, I stabbed a man in the heart. George Karl: I saw that. Melo killed a guy. Did you throw a trident? Carmelo Anthony: Yeah, there were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident. George Karl: Melo, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder. Geroge Karl: I'm proud of you fellas. You all kept your head on a swivel, and that's what you gotta do when you find yourself in a vicious rooster fight. -

smokinandjokin replied to Frez's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure I'd go that far, but it will be tough. Unfortunately, the Bills need to root for the Phins and the Pats this weekend. New England plays at Jacksonville. A Miami win, a New England win, and a few Travis Henry fumbles contributing to a Bills win would make it a perfect weekend (playoff-wise.) -

Whenever I dog a chick in a bathroom, I always prefer that we blow some coke first. I agree billsfan, she is now a public figure and does have the added responsibility that goes along with that. She needs to be more discrete about her illicit drug use and general whoring. I thought the big hubbub was that this underage girl was hanging out in clubs, which would have been rediculous. But clearly this seems pretty serious.
