  1. The jokes could go on and on here... He's the only ballplayer who gets excited when he is "sent down"
  2. Important stuff, like who his "catcher" is...
  3. Someone just told me about this the other day- http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4080528/
  4. Can't believe I haven't heard this one yet- The second coming of Gretzky has to go to Edmonton!!!
  5. What a crock. How many AFC Championship rings do Montana and Aikman have? About four less than Jimbo!!!
  6. That dunk looked like it was about a 15 footer...
  7. Nice lawn. Very green.
  8. Sucks just enough for you to watch it?
  9. It's been on air for a while, but I just caught it last night- the Making the Squad Dolphins cheerleader special on NFL Network. All I can say is well done. Their team is ass but they do have some babes on the sidelines. Perhaps the Jills should recruit some of their cuts. I'd be willing to give them the tour of Buffalo (which ends in my pants). BTW, there are several NFL teams that don't have cheerleaders, the Jets being one of them. The owner says it takes away from the football game. WHAT??? YOU'D RATHER SHOW A BALD FIREMAN??? IS THIS NOT AMERICA???
  10. C'mon man, Necessary Roughness...you must have seen it!
  11. Any news on the Bills working out a real kicker? It would be a shame to have to count on this waste of space again. He was 1-3 over 40yds. D'oh! They'd be better off with Kathy Ireland, the former Texas State Armadillo! Plus, young QB's often struggle most in the fast-paced red zone- a solid kicker would be a nice option for when drives stall...
  12. Too bad so sad for Tedy, good news for the Bills. I just want one year when the Pats don't get every single break.
  13. It was a move to let the team know nobody was safe. Shaw was a well-liked "locker room" guy. Cutting him was a message to the team, more than an evaluation of on-field performance. I think it probably got some Bills to notice.
  14. Just thinking of Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber as he leaves the hotel bar with his arms in the air: "WE LANDED ON THE MOON!"
  15. If they do choose to do it, how long would it take before it is called the "Labatt's Blue Ice"?
  16. I agree, tackles are overrated and/or subjective. In the snow game in 2002 against Miami, Ricky had 220 through 3 quarters and London had about 15 tackles. Honestly, being at the game, I didn't even notice him. I just noticed Ricky running for 10 yards everytime he touched the ball. Same thing vs. the Jets last year- Willis ran for about 140 on 35+ carries, and Vilma had about 15 tackles. I guess what I'm saying is that tackles don't necessarily measure effectiveness. But that's what you pay middle linebackers to do- make tackles. You just hope they can make the big ones- 3rd and 2 type tackles. As for the prediction, I think London will be right up there with Lewis. Vilma is all over the place and should be up there. Zach Thomas doesn't scare me at all. Who drafted that middle linebacker from U of Texas? He is a horse and I would expect to see his name up there too...
  17. The greatest movie of all time: Teen Wolf Absolutely hilarious. The basketball scenes, the wolf in a tuxedo dancing, his team is the Beavers...absolute classic. I die laughing every time I see it. I'm in full agreement on SuperTroopers also, that movie shouldn't be on this thread because it was the furthest thing from lousy. Whenever I see someone with their fly down, I say, "Man, whaddya doin, selling hotdogs?"
  18. I thought about the Bears. Who is their running back, I forget?
  19. Did your daughter ask what all the smoke and funny smell was once the lights went down?
  20. I think we can rest assured that if it is posted on the internet, it must be real. I am not impressed until she takes her shirt off and does it.
  21. Teams that barely missed the playoffs last year cannot be considered the '05 Chargers. If I do recall, the Chargers had the top pick in the draft in '04, meaning they were the worst of the worst in '03. Jumping out on a limb with the Bills and Bengals for '05 is not crystal ball stuff. The Lions have no choice but to win some games, or there will be some serious changes there (qb, coach, gm). I've heard the bustle about the Cards, but I just don't see it. The only thing they have going for them is the ass division they play in. Cards go 6-10 IMO. Out of nowhere team for me- that's tough and but I'll throw the NY Giants out there.
  22. I believe it is a 1st in '06 and a 1st in '07. They watched tape of Henry falling down before the end zone in Oakland and fallling down on 3rd & 1 against N.E. and they upped their offer.
  23. Speaking of bands in stadiums: The Who has to rank as the greatest stadium band of all time. Sure they have no "i" to dot, but I don't see OSU smashing instruments when they're done. Also, Duke's band at hoops games has some decent tricks when the other team is shooting free throws, but it's still Duke so you have to hate 'em.
  24. I can't speak for Jack here because his prime was before my time, but Tiger has done this: He's raised the level of play on the entire tour. Every player has been forced to work tirelessly on their game because Tiger has raised the bar that high. They saw the types of shots he could hit, and they new they were at a disadvantage unless they could hit those shots also. Additionally, Tiger has made a lot of people rich. The purses on the PGA Tour have reached near-rediculous heights ($15K for making the cut and finishing last on the weekend), thanks to the interest and sponsors Tiger has brought to the game.
