  2. Sorry, that $405 for 26 weeks is in NYS....I don't know what GA has set up.... It is a gravy check alright. Plus, if you have a friend with a business who you can do some work for and get paid cash, you really come out ahead...
  3. You can collect $405 per week for 26 weeks.
  4. Even though they are a bunch of chumps and their state sucks (not Austin), I kinda like the Texans helmets. They look pretty cool. Helmet
  5. That's awesome. I got fired once, about 2 weeks before I was going to give my 2 weeks notice. It actually worked out great, I collected unemployment instead of just giving my resignation. And, I had an old boss who was promoted who I got along real well with (my newer boss was the one who fired me). So I still had a contact and a reference at the place. It worked out ok. If they were treating you like dirt, I wouldn't be too torn up about it. It's a blow to the ego, definitely, but you can easily turn it into a positive.
  6. Ralph pays the Buffalo Bills ticket office, but then gets a tax writeoff for donating the tickets.
  7. Sometimes a business will buy them, like Tops or M&T or something. Other times, Ralph buys them and then donates the tickets to hospitals or to family of the military, etc. It wasn't all that long ago that this happened....usually if there's about 2500 seats or less remaining, someone will step up and buy them.
  8. Whoa cowboy, hold on. Let the league turn a profit once (yep, 0 times in 10 years the league has made money) before we start talking about 20-30 teams. Hockey got too huge too fast and misinterpreted the fan support that was out there (especially for a T.V. audience.) The older Europeans who come here to play are on vacation. They mail it in during the games. I'm not saying they aren't a gate draw, which is really all that matters, but the MLS is like Florida for them. They come here to retire.
  9. Not sure, I haven't been in the locker room...But I heard kickers have short leashes. Sorry 'bout that.
  10. I want to see Bledsoe doing the opposite of what the coaches requested.
  11. All numbers are from my own brain (except for the game total O/U). What do you think? 1. Bills-Texans O/U 38 2. McGahee rushing yds O/U 120 3. Losman passing yds O/U 225 4. Bills D total sacks O/U 4.5 5. Bills D turnovers O/U 2.5 6. Lindell's longest good FG O/U 39 yds 7. Beers you will drink between 8am-4pm O/U 16 Here I go: 1. under 2. over 3. under 4. under 5. over 6. over 7. probably over but who's counting
  12. The guy on the other end of the phone was telling him to take 2 and pass it!!!
  13. I don't think there is any question the Big 12 is overrated, especially Oklahoma. It was very clear that this was going to be a rebuilding year for OK with young players (after two straight years of veterans gagging in the bowl games.) But I think Texas is the exception to the rule in the conference. They seem pretty loaded. It is a tough game to pick though. Primetime, under the lights at OSU, national TV...should be a doozy. The line is OSU (-1) right now. I think I would take Texas but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.
  14. Thanks, I'll let them know.
  15. There will be some brothers standing out on 20A with (wif) tickets if you need em. Somehow they always are buying AND selling tix.
  16. The Houston area? This is an NFL UK odds maker! Sounds like those limey bastards know what they're talking about!
  17. ...Gus Ferrotte
  18. Once again, the Bills night game in N.E. this season follows a Pats bye week. Like it's not tough enough when Belicheck has one week to gameplan.
  19. I wonder if they will post the articles that are contrary to the "company line."
  20. I must say go Raiders, but if the Pats win, let us hope it is by 7 or less...
  21. (2)Texas at (4)Ohio State (20)Notre Dame at (3)Michigan (5)LSU at (15)Arizona State (16)Cal at Washington Iowa St. at (8)Iowa Buffalo at Syracuse o Tough to pick against Ohio State at home at 8pm, but I think I'll go with Texas, Michigan, ASU, Cal, Iowa, and Syracuse (all straight up of course, I didn't look at the lines yet.) o Notre Dame hasn't convinced me of anything yet. o I think Arizona State is going to give the business to LSU. But it's hard to judge whether LSU will have their minds on the tragedy, or if they will play supremely hard and focused because of what happened. I have to assume they are young kids, many who have families affected by this, and I don't think they'll play up to their ranking. o Washington is not an easy place to play, but I don't know much about either team so I just picked Cal. o Iowa St. is decent, but in the rivalry game, you gotta go with the home team (not to mention they are 8th in the country.) o And Cuse needs this cupcake game after last weeks disaster.
  22. True that. Same with the Tour de France. Imagine a guy from Spain won it 7 years in a row. Most Americans probably wouldn't know his name, much less call him the world's greatest athlete. But since an American won it, it's an important sporting event.
  23. I saw a photo a few days ago (can't remember if it was here or somewhere else) of the field in the Superdome covered in trash, and you could see beams of sunlight coming in through the holes in the roof. Do any of you who have seen this pic have a link to it? Just curious, thanks if you can help. BTW, yes, I have heard of Google...I checked it out yesterday and must have looked at 300+ photos with no luck. I saw a few Superdome photos but not this one I saw before.
  24. YYYYAAAAAAWWWWWWNNNNNN YAWN YAWN This horse was beaten dead two months ago. Get behind your quarterback. Holcomb might not see the field this year.
