How does one interpret Hockey odds?
smokinandjokin replied to stuckincincy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes that's correct. If you walk into a casino and give them $130 to bet on Pitts, and Pitts wins, they will give you your $130 back plus the $100 for winning. -

No, payout of just $100 if you bet $130 on the favorite (Pittsburgh in this case.) Since they are favored, you have to risk more.... If you bet on the underdog (Florida), betting $100 would net you $130 if they win (or $50 would net you $65, and so on.) It's simply called a "money line," because it is the money that varies...i.e., no point spreads, etc. You are betting on a straight-up winner, but obviously there are odds, reflected in the money line, because there is a favorite and an underdog. -

Always based on $100. In this case, with the Islanders being the favorite, you would have to bet (risk) $165 to win $100. Conversely, if you like Atlanta, since they are the underdog, betting $100 will get you $165 if they win. Pittsburgh, you must wager $130 to win $100, etc.... Obviously works in proportion for lower/higher dollar amounts. -
If I'm Mike Mularkey, I bench anyone ...

USC and Texas are so far ahead, they will be 1-2 as long as they are undefeated. But the computers that have USC at 4 and 5 are a joke. However, they will jump up as they still have to play Top 25 Cal and Fresno State, and #7 UCLA. If undefeated, USC will be #1 in the BCS going into the title game. Texas is just another page in the recent history of the Big 12- Barnstorm through that horrible conference only to get lit up in a BCS game. (See: Oklahoma). Who will Texas play in the Big 12 title game? Colorado? Joke conference. And not only that, but they got outplayed by a questionable Ohio State team, who plays in the questionable Big 10....

I understand your point, but if you are referring to Willis, you have to understand the context. He was asked who he thought the best running back in the NFL is. Willis said the league is full of good backs and he mentioned LT, Portis, and Edge- and the reporter asked which one he thought was the best, and Willis said "I think I am the best." What is he supposed to say? He went to UMiami, remember.... The running back widely considered to be the best, Tomlinson, had 17 carries for 7 yards on Sunday. I don't think he will be riding the pine this week. I am getting a little tired of watching Nasty Nate get scorched for TD's however. I give him the benefit of the doubt because he is always matched up with the other team's premier receiver...but he says he can cover them, it's time to start doing it. -
FUKEN-A RIGHT!!! This dude is great. He's even got a Flutie thread going now. He types posts like a RB runs against the Bills- UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Kelly Holcomb has a .666 winning percentage.

I'm excited about playing the Dolphins and the Jets again. I'll never forget that two-game winning streak we had back in 2005 when we DOMINATED those chumps. Remember when Miami set a franchise record for penalties? They were cheating and they couldn't even beat us. I loved how those tricky Bills waited right until the end to force that fumble. And to think I was nervous! And the Jets, with grandfathers Vinny and Curtis, they didn't stand a chance against our powerhouse defense! Thank God they're in our division! We'll destroy them both again! Here we come 5-11!!! Oh wait, those are road games.

Typical bandwagon fan. Detroit gets a win yesterday and now you're a Lions fan.....You ARE a loser.

You'll be in Pittsburgh in February?

I must have missed you at the airport this morning welcoming the team back and congratulating them for a hard fought battle. They really played their hearts out. A victory gives them sole possession of the AFC East for the first time in 9 years, but oh well, I guess Oakland was just better.

I'm glad you are easily entertained Bill.

Using your theory as a guide: Since you do nothing for me personally, and I don't care about you, if I just ignore you and stop reading your posts, will you take your crooked side show somewhere else?

New England 77, Buffalo 3
smokinandjokin replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
C'mon man, that's not right... Besides, you really want Flutie-Man to come in and start lighting up our d? -
I don't consider my time or money wasted. The $400 for seasons is the easiest money I drop all year. I'll admit, Buffalo is a horrible place on a Monday after a Bills loss. But when they are winning, there is nothing better. There are sh*tty fans all over the NFL in cities who don't appreciate their team. Buffalo is not one of those. The Bills have a hold on me and I love it. I'm not trying to break free from it. If I didn't want to watch or attend games on Sundays, I wouldn't. I want to. So piss off.

Get lost! Nobody's telling you to watch. I can tell already that you lead a sad life.

What's incredible is the way they've bounced back... Loss at home to Patriots (a game the Steelers wanted BADLY and should've won), and they follow that up with a Monday Night win on the road against San Diego. Loss at home to the Jags (in OT without Big Ben) followed by a huge division win on the road against Cincy. Lesser teams with weak leadership would have gone in the tank on those road games. I guess that's why they've won 10 in a row on the road.

you guys remember Dan Duquette?
smokinandjokin replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Duquette also gets credit for bringing in some bum named Ortiz. -
Kool Aid man (busts through the wall): "Oh Yeah!" Jimmy's friends: "Wow! Cool!" Jimmy: "That's not cool. You know what's cool? Using the door is cool. My old man is going to kick my ass if I tell him a giant pitcher of fruit punch broke down the wall."

Those numbers speak for themselves...And don't discount the lift that Teddy B would give the Pats, even he was in for just a handful of plays... I am going to go with 34-10 Pats.

Anybody else think Lawyer Milloy is done?
smokinandjokin replied to TheZone78's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His first since the Houston game though....The man has been invisible. I haven't even seen him making tackles. But I've been drunk during every game. Most of what I read here on Mondays I don't even remember happening on Sunday. -
Georgia (w/ their QB injured I know) beat Arkansas 23-20 at home. USC beat Arkansas 70-17. Alabama does not have what it takes either. UCLA looks good, and we'll find out if they can hang with the Trojans. I don't think VaTech is very good. I dunno, just not convinced. The ACC is not anything special this year. The game against Miami will be tough, but they should win at home. USC and Texas are heads and shoulders above the others. As of now, the BCS would work because I think the two best teams would play each other. Without the BCS, you'd have USC playing Northwestern (or whoever wins the pathetic Big 10) in the Rose Bowl. You can't really call it a failure when you consider the way things used to be. Not perfect, definitely. But failure would be USC, Texas, and Virginia Tech all playing three different bowl games due to conference champion commitments.

Maybe an NFL owner would've wanted Weis to be the face of the franchise if he wasn't such a fat bastard. He's better off at Notre Dame where he can pad his legacy with wins over sad Big 10 schools and BYU and Navy. This guy is the savior without a relevant win yet...
