Atlanta was automatic at -3. The Broncos worried me that they were only -2. I thought it should have been more, like 4 or 5, so I stayed away from Denver and instead played the OVER at 41.5. They made it! Nice start to the weekend...BTW I love Cincy at -9 over Baltimore.

What If God forbid Ralph Wilson Dies??
smokinandjokin replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think the Bills would move after Ralph's passing. As for Toronto, that is a rediculous and horrible idea. L.A. would be the only option, and it would be heartbreaking to see the NFL move a team with a frenzied fan base to a city with lukewarm support and two failed attempts at previous franchises. Should the Bills move to L.A., yes, I would still be a fan of the team. I would strongly consider making the move with them if the logistics/employment allowed. As for Buffalo, I'm not sure who could pony up the roughly $500+ million for the franchise. Perhaps, as a group, the Seneca Indians would make an offer? I assume Golisano would not want to be the sole owner, but perhaps he could be part of a group??? After all, he has spent $100 million on failed runs at Governor... -
Is Coaching the Real Problem?
smokinandjokin replied to Pass the Pipe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One specific that can point to the coaches is the difference in the team between home and road games. This team can look extremely jacked up and confident at home, and then go on the road and completely lay an egg. It is a tough league, and winning on the road is not easy, but talented, well-coached teams find a way to do it. There's no question the Bills have talent, but something is obviously missing when we lose to powerhouses like New Orleans and Oakland on the road. I'm not expecting them to win them all, but a playoff team should expect 6-2 at home and 4-4 on the road (they did go 4-4 last year, defeating Miami, Cincy, Seattle, and San Fran.) It has been the same story throughout the TD era. Being outcoached and outplayed by Pittsburgh's backups last year can also be cited when discussing major coaching malfunctions. -
I hope everything works out and grandpa is back saying grace at next year's Thanksgiving dinner. While it sounds like he is in a tough spot, at least he was already in the hospital when he had the stomach problems. Hopefully the immediate treatment makes the difference. Stay strong, your family needs you...Best wishes.

Yep, hardly working today myself. I definitely see an early departure in my future too. I was driving past the Gonnorhea Mall here in Buff on the way to work, and you are correct; I would rather be here than there. Parking lot was jammed at 7:45am.

Anyone familiar with The Pussycat Dolls?

They definitely have the rumps, and judging by this, the helmets look pretty good too. -
It's high time somebody brings some sense to this thread.

So true. -
I have actually found it easier to sneak beers into the stadium with the new pat-down rules. Before, they would see four guys in their mid-to-upper 20's entering the stadium, and they would give us the body search, checking every waistband, armpit, pocket, hat, and sock. Now it is a quick one-two around the midsection and you are good to go. Before they had more time to "profile" the suspicious beer drinkers and give them some extra attention. Now, with everyone getting a taste, it seems like they just want to give you a quick pat and keep the line moving along. Hooray security!!! Please note, I don't sneak beers in because I want to get absolutely creamed. I enjoy having a beer with the game, so why leave some cold ones in the cooler in the lot and pay $7.50 inside when you can bring the cold ones with you? I was out in LA all week before heading down to SD for the Bills game, and I went to the USC-Fresno St game Saturday night. The LA Coliseum decided not to sell alcohol this year for the first time. I never realized how much I enjoyed having a brewski while at a game. I found my hand in the shape of holding a can, only to look down in horror when I remembered my hand was empty!

"Bills No Longer Represent Excitement"

I don't know why, but every Sunday around 12:30pm I still get very excited. Last week that excitement deteriorated around 1:09 Pacific time. -
Buffalo favored by 4.5 this week
smokinandjokin replied to Fezmid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was in SD for the game Sunday, and I was talking to one of my buddies out there about my picks for the day. I told him I liked Indy/Cincy over 47.5. He gave me the "sucker bet" line, so I told him to take the under if that was the case. He said, "Well, you know I'm not going to take the under, but the over is a sucker bet." I said okay and called it in....Over on the first drive of the 3rd quarter...Cha-ching! The sucker bet apparently was Carolina last week, and I did get pulled into that one. I had them at -3.5. But the rest of the day went well: Giants -7, Chiefs -7.5, Chargers -12.5 (I hated doing it but I had to) and Denver -13. I'll start studying up on this week today when the injuries are released. I do like the Bills though at anything bigger than +3. -
Bush wanted to Bomb Al'Jazeera...
smokinandjokin replied to RI Bills Fan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Your statement is true, but there is also something fundamentally wrong when the country attempting to spread freedom is destroying media outlets. No question, Al Jazeera is skewed reporting, but what would we replace it with? More skewed reporting from our side? It was a good move to abstain from this idea, assuming this is true. -

I've never been a big 'Cuse fan...I should be I suppose, because they are the only major D1 college upstate. But that's part of the reason I never liked them- because everyone else around does. I never liked that whiney bastard Boeheim either (although he has gotten 100x better in that aspect recently.) I used to wish he would just get angry instead of putting the pouty face on. My brother-in-law went to school there and I always dog him about 'Cuse sports. He sent me an email this morning bemoaning the loss before I could even say anything to him! Did you see the game last night? I didn't, and you were the first to tell me BU's shooting stats. I don't like teams that play all zone, and Cuse does, but they play a 2-3 like no other team, so I do respect that. However, Boeheim seems to stick with it even when teams are exposing them. Did JB switch out of the zone when Bucknell was hitting 80%?

They started as a seductive dance show in LA, and a lot of stars have been guest dancers, like Christina Aguilera, Carmen Electra, Christina Applegate among others. They are pretty slammin hot and look very slutty dancing around in bras and panties. I guess they decided to release an album. I saw a video for one song "Dontcha" Not anything special but not the worst ever. -
I'm not belittling Bucknell at all. I was belittling Syracuse.

Anyone see the American Music Awards?
smokinandjokin replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice! I did see Gwen come on stage, and I changed it when she was wearing pants and a sportcoat. Whaddya gotta do to see a silver sun-covered nipple on TV nowadays? -
Where's Poojer? I seem to remember having a finger pointed at all of us who said the Orange were going to struggle this year after they eeked out a victory against Cornell... Now losing to Bucknell on the road would be embarrassing, but at the Dome??? Cuse is middle of the road in the Big East this year.

I can't believe she would lie and say that her hip injury happened during a yoga workout. Oh, that Danica, always such a kidder. It actually happened on a sweaty, passionate love-making session between the two of us in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico a few years back. I'm glad I got in there when I did. She was a real dynamo, and I had some pelvis soreness myself. Danica, I hope you're happy... (She'll be back)

Looking for some info here...I was at the game in SD and was slightly (ok heavily) intoxicated, but here's what I noticed: I am not sure if McGee started the game at CB. The Chargers scored so fast, I blinked and our defense was staggering off the field. Did he start? McGee returned the Bills first kickoff for 40+ yards, stayed down for a second, and then limped off the field rather badly. He did not return any more kicks for the rest of the day. However, he did return to this blowout game to play cornerback. What are the Bills thinking? IMO, McGee's returns are the most exciting part of the game. He is as good as anyone in the NFL, because he makes an early decision and picks up yards quickly. But why would the Bills insert him into the secondary when clearly he is too injured to perform the job he is best at? Why have him limping around in a 35-10 game? Granted, it was a nice opportunity for Roscoe to show his stuff on returns, and he did well. Why not present the same opportunity to King and some of the younger DB's? Please note: I left with 13 minutes left in the 4th quarter, so hopefully they did eventually pull him...

New BCS....what are your matchups?
smokinandjokin replied to bartshan-83's topic in College Football
The BCS title game pits #1 vs. #2; after that, the goal is to do what the NCAA and the Bowls do best: Make money. That is the reason that the Top 12 BCS-ranked teams are eligible for the other three BCS bowl games, as opposed to just slotting in teams ranked 3 through 8. Using the top 12 gives the Bowls leeway to invite teams who have a travelling fan base which will be certain to sell out the game and bring in the most money. Providing an entertaining matchup is 2nd on their list. That's why a team like Notre Dame (although they probably are deserving this year) will always receive a bid over a team like Oregon. The traditional Big Ten powers (UM, OSU, PSU, UW) all seem to travel well also, no matter where their team is playing, and especially if it is a warm-weather location.
