I went to a Bills-Chiefs preseason tilt at Arrowhead in '95. My grandfather still lived in KC then so my then-girlfriend-now-wife and I happened to be in town and decided to go to the game. It was a sold-out sea of red, even in preseason. Pretty cool. The worst treatment we got was when a middle-aged lady silently flipped us off as we walked by their tailgate before the game... I was wearing a Bills shirt, of course, and I think they were still a little pissed about losing to us twice in the playoffs.
Me and Mrs. Lew attended that game also. Along with EdinKC and his wife. The peeps generally were nice...I think that middle age 'lady' <who flipped you off> musta had daughters. THe only grief we got were from some girl teenage KC fans.

The town where we live, Ashland, VA, is 150 years old and there is a family-owned grocery store in town, Cross Brothers (no web site), that has been run by the Cross family for generations. They have an index card system and if you don't have the coin with you, you simply put it on your tab. You buy your groceries and, if you like, they deliver it to your place. Or you can call them up and tell them what you want and they deliver it. An interesting place and one with a loyal customer base that has been able to survive the onslaught of the nearby chains. Though their selection is not as vast as the chains, they custom cut meat and have all of the basics. If there is something in particular that one wants, they will stock it.
As would be expected, there is more banter at this store and quite a few senior citizens present but the family is good about having enough people at the register so that if someone wants to chat awhile, they step aside and another family member/employee takes over another register.
Amen...Need more places like this. The local ACME grocery store was like this until they got "Wal-Marted" out of business

I had those same two hours of sleep...Then had to drive in a
big snowstorm here in the mountains of WV...
Lack of plows and curved roads made the normal 1 hour trip into a 1.5 hour journey.

He needs to call Martha Stewart and ask for advice on what jails are the cushiest.
MS was jailed at an all women's prison here in WV. So that might be a problem..
The jail is very near the hospital where Mrs. Lew works....
and some days she says the jail would be better than the hospital..
But that's another discussion

Great thread.
I liked the Fabulous Freebirds,,,Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy.
For the most part they were 'heels'. But Michael Hayes tried
to revamp their image to 'good guys'
They were ready to defend their tag team title.
In an interview with Gene Okerlund, Michael told Gene he was going to
get ready for the big match by having a work out, a massage
and a healthy meal.
Terry relpied that he was going to down a bottle of JD and get mean-ass drunk.
To which Michael replied, " the heck with the work out, let's get two bottle
of JD."
I just thought that was funny as heck and the 'heel' personna was back.

Lew, your employer doesn't give you time to take off to vote? I'm no expert on such matters, but I thought everyone had the right to vote and that employers made provisions for employees in such cases.
I don't know about the company provisions for voting... It was a major emergency and I had to "take care of business"
And my work place is a 1 hour drive from where I live and vote. So the logistics of voting would have been an issue.
We have early voting in WV and next time I may take advantage of that process. As a registered Republican in WV, my voting choices are slim and none. I am OK with what happened on Tuesday. We fixed the problem and I get Friday off from work without having to burn any vacation...

Congrats to UB....
I only was able to view the last qtr.
Had a MAJOR emergency at work and I missed most of the game.
I even missed the opportun ity to vote.
Working from 1AM until 10PM is such a joy

I was watching the guys above the suites at the scoreboard endzone. Whenever there was no power, they were just sitting there. That's why I suspected there would have been no footage. Good to know there was some cameras working.
Was Bellicheat and HIS film crew at the game?...That would be the way to obtain film of the game...Call the Pats*

Said it before and I'll say it again. Jones was a punk even while at WVU. RichRod just always let him and Chris Henry off the hook because they could play. I hope they both get whats coming to them.
Chris Henry played last week for the Bungles...I wonder how soon it will be before he gets
into trouble too.
How did UB
in The Stadium Wall Archives
Posted
Tackling by UB defenders was terrible.
The QB and HB of KSU did make some very elusive moves and
they had a good offensive scheme against
<like someone else said, a very average defense>
Man, it was COLD at UB Stadium yesterday.
Other than the cold it was a great experience at
the game.
The UB Stadium is a nice one and I encourage
anyone to go to a game there next season.
