    Grocery shopping not fun anymore

    I'll 2nd that. I moved from South FL to Charlotte. Now I have a "Harris Teeter" where I shop. It's similar to Wegman's in that it's clean and has everything. However, the prices are crazy and I'm talking Albertson's crazy. I get angry every time I'm there when I look at the prices. I use it mostly as a convenience store and actually buy most of my stuff at (wait for it) Target.

     

    The OPs problems are well understood. The same thing happened to coffee 15 years ago (try to find a 3 pound can these days). Just understand that inflation is a (huge) reality. Thumb through the ads and find those bargains. They're out there (even at Harris Teeter).

    Iwas in the Charlotte / Cornelius area this weekend and took my daughter shopping at Harris Teeter.

    Holy Cow...The prices were out of sight. Now I know why they generally go to Food Lion.

    And It would be worth the price of gas to go to the WalMart a couple miles north of Cornelius.

     

    Yeah, the shrinkage issue at the grocery store sucks....Just wait until beer cans are 10 ounces, not 12...

    Hah, i did not buy one, I bought 7 for $.01. LOL.

     

    Yes, i got suckered into the Columbia House thing at some point. Not sure if they were my first or not.Now I can clearly remember walking home for the Summit Park Mall proudly with my Yes Songs that I had just purchased. I honestly cannot say it was the first, I think it was, but it is the one I remember best. Might be caused I purchased the first week of my paper route, so it was special as first thing I bought from my first job

     

     

    Summit Park Mall...Have you been there lately ? Virtual ghost town today ... I can remember that record store. One of my buddies from LP worked there and he got us some good deals...

    The Turkish goalie was terrible on the goal scored by Croatia, then came up HUGE on the offside Free Kick.

    His save in the shootout sealed the deal...And he was the backup goalie as Turkey's primary

    goalie was booted for two matches.

    I am wondering how many players Turkey will have available when they play Germany.

     

    and did you notice how many security personnel ringed the pitch ?

    Were they expecting trouble in this particular match ???

    Sept. 3 1975..Pre-Season game against the Browns. It was a night game and it was warm. OJ was in the middle of a big hold out and that put a damper on the game. We went with EdinKC and his wife. Bills won 28-10 and we had a lot of fun. Ed had to drive his car as mine had Ohio plates. Me and Mrs. Lew had come up from Marietta Ohio.

     

    First real season game was in 1981. A 21-14 victory over the Redskins. It was cold and windy. We went with a couple who were friends of Mrs. Lew from her days at Daemen College... Other than the cold, it was great
