I used to work with HCl, HNO3, HF, HClO4 and Na2O2. Now that I retired all I work with is the lawn mower, rakes, wheel barrow, shovels, weed eater and hedge trimmer.

RIP Eddie 'the entertainer" Shack who passed away at age 83. He was a flamboyant hockey player and put on a great great show for the fans. He primarily played for the Leafs, but came to the Sabres for 2 seasons. RIP number 23.

Today was supposed to be day one of the Alaska cruise me, Mrs. Lew and grandson had planned. No sailing to and from US ports until after Sept. 30..... maybe. Our next cruise will be in 2022.

I just finished clear coat staining the deck. It is a 2 level deck and I am worn out. Whew. This dry hot spell is the perfect time according to the instructions on the can. I was going to seal the driveway, but a contractor came by and made an offer I could not refuse. They did in 1 hour what would have taken me 10 hours. I have a long driveway.

Thank you notes via text, email or snail mail are all acceptable IMHO. It's the thought. My mom was a prodigious letter writer and my sister and I inherited that gene. I have passed that on to my grandson as I taught him the best three words in the English language are "Please" and "Thank You". The next three are Let's Go BILLS !

After reading this thread I suggested to Mrs. Lew that we have B L T's with a fried egg on them .. And the eggs to be cooked in the bacon drippings.. ummm good. yeah, with the retirement thing, dinners are more planned than in the past.

Same here. I have gone "Wild and Woolly" in West by God Virginia

I retired from work. and it was planned regardless of the pandemic issue

6 weeks in. I have done the morning walking and a bunch of yard work. We were supposed to go on an Alaska cruise in two weeks, but that got nuked. We did go to Michigan to see my sister for the Fourth. Fireworks were canceled except in neighborhood driveways and some of them were great. We just got our SS checks, so we thank all of you workers who contribute to the SS fund.

With the COVID situation the local paper has stopped printing SAT and then MON editions. No electronic editions on these days either. Paper has one section instead of 2 and several staff are furloughed. One of my golfing buddies is the ONLY photographer left on the staff. He says the only thing keeping the paper afloat is the subscriptions by the AARP+ age group.
