Bring Back Marv Levy. . . I'm Dead Serious

There's still no denying Marv was a Hall of Fame caliber coach...I'd take him in a second. -
I'll be the first to admit, I was one of the many who was in favor in benching Losman for Holcomb. After watching the last 3 games, I have changed my tune. The bottom line is this: What has Kelly Holcomb done to really show that he deserves to start over JP? In my opinion, the only thing he has really done in his three starts that's noteworthy is NOT LOSE GAMES. To be completely honest, IMHO, I have seen him only make one spectacular throw, and that was to Campbell last week. His numbers are very modest, and while he may be completing 70 percent of his passes, he's averaging like 160 yards per game. He absolutely cannot throw an accurate pass beyond 15 or 20 yards. In the last 3 games, how many deep balls has he thrown? maybe 4, and each one was horribly missed. From badly underthrowing Moulds, to badly overthrowing Evans and Reed. He has fumbled a snap or a handoff in each of his 3 starts, and has NO ability to run if the pocket collapses. This is not a good football team, on either side of the ball. Even if we were to make it into the playoffs, what are the chances of us beating the likes of New England, Indianapolis, Denver, Pittsburgh...slim to none. We need to let JP in there and get his lumps now. Many people think that we should start Holcomb in the New England game next Sunday. I think that this would be a perfect time to get JP in there. Let him get that game experience playing in the national spotlight. Yes, throw him to the wolves, he's going to have to do it eventually, why not let him get a taste now? Every game he sits is one more game next year he'll still need for development. This team is going nowhere in the state we're in. Lets let the kid become a man.

It would definitely be a pick-me-upper, but this team has so many issues to address, a victory(unlikely) Sunday wouldn't erase all the problems and holes we have. But I'd sure enjoy it...

I agree to a certain extent. I don't believe he's earned the right yet to proclaim himself the best back in the league. I also don't think it was a smart move to stir up the Raiders by saying they need to worry about what you're going to do to them. That's just plain silly in my opinion. I do feel that you have to have a certain level of confidence though... -
lets just put this out in the open right now

I too was one of the many in favor of benching Losman for Holcomb. Those who stated that the play of our offensive line and our sieve-like defense is the real culprit, you have hit the nail squarely on the head. But the bottom line is, what has Kelly Holcomb done to really show that he deserves to start over JP? I'm just befuddled here. I don't understand why we can't seem to complete a pass for over 10 yards, let alone 15. Is it Kelly Holcomb and his weak arm, always checking down to a short route? Is it Tom Clements and his predictive play calling? Is it the offensive line's inability to pass-block? Is it Mike Mularkey's refusal to grab the reins from TC? Is it our receivers? Someone please shed some light for me... I tried to create a poll but think I must've done something wrong..

Bills 23, Raiders 13

So you're saying any fan who runs out on the field should be shot? I think that fans running out on the field is just plain stupid and wastes time, but i don't know if they should be shot and killed on the spot.... But i do think that it is getting a little out of control....

My bold prediction for the day.

I'll be having the usual...the sampler platter from Buffalo Blues, a sportsbar here in Pittsburgh where some Bills fans in the area get together to watch the game...consists of wings, a couple ribs, jalapeno poppers, and chicken fingers...and i'll wash it down with a tall, cool iced tea...mmm...it'll sure go down much better with a Bills victory... GO BILLS!!!!! -
Forget a speedy recovery...here's to a full recovery, and to rooting on your Bills in person next year... God bless you fellow Bills fan....

Help choosing tickets for my first bills game
smuvtalker replied to love my bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree wholeheartedly...I went to the preseason game against the Packers, and got tickets in the 2nd row, 50 yard line. It was great being so close to the players, and being able to see everyone and hear them talking and stuff, but i had to watch the entire game on the jumbotron.... 300 level first couple rows is great..... -
Man, to hell with Randy Moss and Nate Clements battling it out. The only place I want to see Randy Moss come Sunday afternoon is on the sidelines, IN STREET CLOTHES. The man is a gamebreaker, and a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. Having him out would be a HUGE advantage for us.... GO BILLS!!!

I'm not down in Biloxi by a long shot, but God bless you guys down there and also you guys in Mobile too...I spent a year working in New Orleans, and took my fiancee to Imperial Palace in Biloxi. It was a great area... Lets hope we all get to enjoy a Bills victory this Sunday, no matter where we are!!!

Don't give up on the Bills just yet... There's a lot of football left to be played... -
I'll be wearing MY MOULDS jersey!!!!
smuvtalker replied to Outkast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My guess is that probably because DB could at least get him the ball 4 or 5 times per game, regularly....plus I doubt Moulds would have the same level of patience with a wet behind the ears "rookie" as he would with a griseled vet like Bledsoe... -
I think the Bills rebound and play hard this week....good news for us...bad news for the Birds..... Buffalo 24 Atlanta 10
-
Actually it was only 17 points....I'm damn proud of the effort our D put out....
-
I would guess that just about any defense...
smuvtalker replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you wholeheartedly. If you put the 2000 Ravens, or the 85 Bears D out there for practically the whole game, in 90 degree heat at that, they would eventually get scored on, and worn down. We only had one 1st down the entire first half! To be totally honest, I'd say our D was pretty impressive to only allow Tampa to score 17 points. What was the difference in time of possession? -
AMEN!!!!!!!

I'm particularly interested in seeing how B.Anderson does, being as though I felt he was a weak link during the preseason, more so than any other lineman.
