Listening to WGR today - Incredible stat
smuvtalker replied to Talonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I highly doubt I'm the only one on this board who would be encouraged at the sight of a 300 yard passing game. What makes you think that one of our QBs passing for a 300 yard game would put us even further away from winning than we are, when defenses KNOW that we can't throw the ball downfield??? -
I'm getting sick to my stomach already....I feel like I was just force-fed a tremendous bowl of Rettata...

Start Holcomb...if the offense struggles
smuvtalker replied to Hardy Pyle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say start JP......for the rest of the damn season. Seems like almost everyone on this board seems to be so hell-bent on protecting the kid from the beatdown the Patriots are gonna give him. Protecting him from getting embarrassed in the national spotlight. What gives people? This kid, wet behind the ears or not, is a !@#$in NFL quarterback! I say, this is EXACTLY the kind of game he needs to get acclimated to! Throw his ass to the wolves, and lets see how he performs. I was one of the first people in agreement with benching Losman after the New Orleans game. After watching the last three games, this team has been revealed for exactly what it is, a mediocre(at best) team. While his numbers were downright awful, I think we all can say now that those three losses could hardly be pinned on him. Hell one could arguably say he wasn't to blame very much at all! This kid is our future, whether we like it or not, and TD gave up way too much to even think about another option at QB. JP could throw 25 ints the rest of the year, and he'll still lining it up under center in 06. LET HIM LEARN, AND FOR GODS SAKES, GIVE HIM MORE THAN JUST 4 FRIGGIN GAMES TO SHOW US THAT HE'S GOT IT OR NOT! Carson Palmer, Eli Manning both stunk up the joints last year, and the Bengals and Giants took their lumps and stuck with them, through good and bad. Why can't we be so patient? How long has it been since the Bengals made the playoffs? We gave this kid 4 games and !@#$in betrayed him, me included. After seeing all the weaknesses and holes we have on this team, I for one am ready to give him the entire rest of the season to see what he can do. We all have to admit, even though he stunk it up on more than one occasion, he displayed flashes of the great things he possesses that we brought him here for: a cannon for an arm, mobility, ability to elude a pass rush, etc... Put him in Sunday night. For keeps... GO BILLS! -
These Bills are like the snowmonster in Rudolph

I KNOW you're not implying that Terrell Owens is a ME player!! That man is a selfless, team-first player and cares nothing more than the good of his team.. -
Which Personnel move most defines 2005?
smuvtalker replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the Pat Williams departure hurt us alot more than we expected it would. -

The Bills may play stupid ball sometimes, but I think they know it would be downright MORONIC to talk smack this week, going into Foxboro, for a night game, against the well-rested Pats. If last weeks blowout hasn't humbled them, nothing will. -
Speaking of Moorman, he's had a pretty sub-par year hasn't he? I haven't really seen him boom too many so far...what's his net avg?
-
I couldn't agree more dude. In all my years as a Bills fan, i can't remember the last time I felt we were going to get our asses handed to us. I feel that way today. To look at it from an optimists perspective... Maybe it won't be a blowout until the 3rd quarter..

AMEN! Dang, those numbers just made my mouth water... That is so sad that we dream of a 15-30, 300 yard, 3TD and 2INT game....where the hell has our team fallen to??? -
Peters, Gandy, Preston, Villarial, Williams
smuvtalker replied to JStranger76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd love to see Peters given a shot at the LT position. But they need to make up their mind and decide what they want him to be...stick with that and let him learn it to the fullest -

You are correct my friend, in that EVERY single team that plays us, that either has a mediocre player,(ala Doug Gabriel, ala Lamont Jordan), a player in decline(ala Curtis Martin, ala Deion Sanders last year), they have to be sporting major hard-ons. We are famous for making bad players look great, or seemingly resurrecting their careers. Last night I was listening to the Falcons game on ESPN radio and all the friggin announcers kept talking about was Curtis Martin's 148 yard performance last week...gimme a break. -

Honestly, for once I wouldn't even mind 49% completion, with 275 yards passing. 70% and 153 yards is just plain crappy. I think if one of our QBs passed for 275, I'd probably burst into tears of joy... -

Can't say that I'm upset about it by any means.. -
No, it's what TD thought HE was getting in GW, while at the same time getting the most important thing, a yes-man
-
Man I have to agree with you 100 percent on one thing in particular...our team has played undisciplined football for quite some time. And i think it definitely boils down to coaching... In my opinion, this teams needs a Tom Coughlin, Bill Parcells type of disciplinarian coach. But we know that TD would never, ever allow that type of thing to happen.

What will the Bills Final record be this season???
smuvtalker replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm gonna say we'll end up at 6-10. and that's being optimistic. -
OH MY SWEET JESUS....THIS IS THE REASON I LOVE THIS SITE!! I HAVE BEEN READING THESE POSTS AND I HAVE LAUGHED SO HARD IT HURTS!! Dammit, I think I just ruptured a kidney.... B-Dawg, I don't think anyone on here can deny your enthusiasm and your passion for the Buffalo Bills, but dude you're getting roasted on here man!!! Don't you agree, that as Bills fans, when our team puts out a performance like they did yesterday, we have a right to be pissed off? I mean come on, the Bills flat out got their asses kicked, and kicked, and kicked some more! We love our team, but when they stink up the joint like they did yesterday, people are going to voice their frustrations...that's what this place is for right??
-
I wish I could share the same sentiments, my friend. Unfortunately, the Bills have done abso-freakin-lutely nothing to prove to me, or anyone for that matter, that they have what it takes to win next weeks Sunday night, nationally televised game, against the defending super bowl champs, who are coming off a bye, and will have had two weeks to prepare for us. I love the Bills as much as the next man, but lets be honest with ourselves. Can anyone list the last time the Bills went into a game, bigtime underdogs, and won a game that they were not picked to win? My memory is failing me...maybe i need some Ginko Biloba, I hear that works well for memory.. If we do win, please believe that I will be very happy, and even more surprised...
-
I agree with you wholeheartedly, except, if we were to make an example out of someone, who would we replace them with? Our depth on both lines is non-existent. Week in and week out this team plays both mentally and physically soft....

I do agree with you in that, I feel that the loss of Pat Williams has affected our D alot more than we anticipated it would. -
Losman should start Sunday night...
smuvtalker replied to smuvtalker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you on a couple points. One, I agree that the coaches need to see that Holcomb is not the answer. Two, I can't honestly say I believe JP is the future of this team either. Do I hope he is? Of course. Only time will tell. I am encouraged only by the fact that many great ones started off terrible and blossomed. But I disagree with the point that putting JP in next week against the Patriots will kill the kids psyche. No matter how badly he's performed, he's still an NFL quarterback. His job is to go week in and out against whatever team is put in front of him. Truth be told, he may not be ready to go up against the Pats, especially in a Sunday night game, against the Pats in Foxboro. But I truly believe this is the kind of valuable game experience he needs, THIS YEAR. If he goes in and stinks up the joint, then so be it. Hell our defense and offensive line has been stinkin up the joint for a while now. But if going up against the defending super bowl champs is going to kill his psyche, then he has no business being in the NFL.
