  1. I wish we still had Rusty Jones. I don't remember injuries being anywhere as near as frequent and high in number when he was our strength and conditioning coach...
  2. Good person, from what I see, and definitely from I hear, sure. No arguments there. Maybe the fact he's such a nice person is one of the main reasons he gets so many accolades as a head coach. And oh, I can't forget, players love playing for him. Maybe I'm just so starved for victory and success that I'm being too hard on him. I know all I am is a fan, but three 7-9's in a row is still a tough pill to swallow, and the head coach is going to bear alot of the responsibilty..... But the season is yet to start, and I am as optimistic as ever!
  3. I've never said I think any coach can win without talent. What I was simply saying is that so many people give Jauron so much credit, all based on his ONE winning season as a head coach. I'm sorry, but that's not enough to justify calling someone a good head coach. And I can think of several situations where Jauron has coached not to lose, instead of coaching to win. I want the Bills to win just as much as anyone else on here, but dammit I call a spade a spade, and Jauron has yet to prove to me that he is our answer at coach. just my humble opinion...
  4. not exactly. i'd be willing to chalk it up to great and talented players, team chemistry, and some good fortune shining down on the Bills. Lol if we went 13-3, I'd probably guess it'd be in spite of Jauron, not because of him. But that would definitely be enough to say bring him back...
  5. It's amazing the number of people who continue to bring up Jauron's ONE winning season of 13-3 to justify him being a good head coach. I swear the only thing that would make me want the Bills to keep Jauron as a head coach is a 10-6 record this year and a wildcard berth. That's it.
  6. Don't get me wrong, I'm as excited about this season as the next guy, but that doesn't exactly sound like a ringing endorsement of a victory. Actually, it kinda sounds like he's still saying we're gonna lose, but we're gonna put up a good fight. Eff that. I don't want us to put up a good fight. I want us to punch the Patriots square in the mouth and kick them when they're down. Now I know pro players have to watch what they say and make sure they're not giving the other team bulletin board clips or extra motivation, but still, that just doesn't get me super excited. But I'm just as excited about this season as any....
  7. Great point. I can understand about being comfortable with a certain position, especially one that you've played your whole career, but why would you not want to move to a position where you could double your salary??? Sounds to me like Big Langston's a bit happy with mediocrity and underachieving...
  8. It was just the politically correct thing to say. I highly doubt he'd ever say, "I don't think we'll be making the playoffs this year."
  9. My biased opinion is Bruce Smith. I will say this though, Reggie White's club move was perhaps one of the sickest, most dominating moves in the game. He used to send 330 pound linemen FLYING with that move. It was a thing of beauty. But biased or no biased, Bruce still gets the nod.
  10. No chance. Besides, 1-3 is not the end of the season by any means. No, it's not a positive way to start the season, but it's still plenty of football left to be played. I love the Bills as much as anyone, and I consider myself to be an eternal optimist, but 1-3 is not outside of the realm of reality. I can see our one win coming at home against Tampa. I think we'll put up a good fight against New England in the opener, and win against the Bucs, get blown out by the Saints, and the Dolphins game, well, i just don't know.... but if that happens, all is not lost......but no way DJ gets canned for that.
  11. While I agree that the O-line is definitely a huge concern, it isn't my biggest. I think that the acqusitions of Wood, Levitre, and Hangartner will really be much more of an upgrade from last year, even though two are rookies. My biggest concern is our D-line. The only person on the line i'm not concerned about is Stroud. Schobel is a big question mark if he can return to form, Maybin is an unknown commodity, and Kelsay to me is just plain average. If our D-Line can't get push and penetration, I really think it's going to be an area of weakness.
  12. I mean, can it get much worse? 10 years of no playoffs, and I will be fully behind giving Jauron the boot. And just because we bring in a new coach does not guarantee a step back. Many first year coaches have come in and had immediate success. But my sad, gut feeling is that if the Bills finish anything above 7-9, Jauron will be retained.
  13. La Nova's Rick's Steak Subs Jim's Steakout a good snowstorm in the winter
  14. damn that was awesome....perfect Dick....
  15. very true. i think it would boost sales from both sides of the alley, because people would watch hoping to see him fail.
  16. politics aside, I think that Vick playing in the UFL would actually only HELP ticket sales.
  17. excellent point. I can't think of the last time the Bills grabbed a team by the throat and squeezed the life out of them. We are definitely a reflection of our ivy league, gentleman of a coach. I sure hope that changes.
  18. You bring up a great point Skooby, about us adding the personnel to become an aggressive, attacking style of offense. I was not unhappy with the Maybin pick by any means, as I do hope that he will become a pass rushing machine. But my biggest fear is this...becoming this great, attacking style of offense, especially if we run the no-huddle alot, I just don't think our defense is anywhere near good enough to sustain too many 3 and outs. running that crappy tampa 2, and the fact that even a great offense that runs a no huddle is going to put immense pressure on our D, i think it could hurt us. Bad. I don't think we're really gotten much better on D than last year. Maybin is a question mark, and here's to hoping Schobel returns to form. If not, we could be in big trouble.
  19. I found myself thinking the same thing. I didn't know the girlfriend had a husband, but i still was thinking along the lines of an angry boyfriend/husband. Kinda sad, murders usually only are related to three things: 1)money, 2)drugs, 3)women/men
  20. Great read. McNair was truly a class act. I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about him, in relation to his on or off the field conduct.
  21. my wife just said the same thing. i don't know though. i hope that's not the case. so many possibilities right now... so freakin sad...
