  1. I did a search prior to posting this, my apologies if it's already being discussed. I just finished watching a clip from The Carton Show on a preview of the Bills Jets game, and Jets DE John Franklin-Myers was quoted as saying that Josh Allen pleads with the refs for penalty calls....and all I could say was.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? First off, this is the DE who singlehandedly cost the Jets the game last week with his boneheaded roughing the passer penalty. His stupid penalty wiped away an 85 yard pick six that would've essentially put the game away. So what does he do for an encore? Brings up a player completely unrelated, and tries to say Allen is a flopper, and pleads with the refs for calls. Let me say this. I'm as big a Bills fan as anyone, and I've been guilty on more than one occasion of having a biased opinion when it comes to our Bills, but this comment is pure absurdity at it's most impressive. Josh Allen in my opinion has NEVER flopped OR pleaded with the refs for a call he didnt deserve. If anything, Allen takes way more hits with no flags called than pretty much any quarterback I've seen with the exception of Cam Newton, MAYBE. I believe that a big reason for that is his aggressive running style, and also that he's probably better at dishing punishment out than any other QB to play the game. Jets players and coaches alike have got to be wanting to shove this guy in a closet for making comments like this prior to the game. As if Allen and company needed any additional motivation, I'm sure this raised some eyebrows in the Bills locker room. Sometimes I really wonder what is going through a players mind when they make these type of idiotic statements. Thoughts?
  2. Well said sir....... well said. As a forty plus year fan, I can truly say this season feels unbelievably different, and special. Monday night's game was such an oddity for me, seeing the team come out as flat as they did in the second half, Josh throwing two costly picks(one in the red zone which he NEVER does), the D uncharacteristically not being able to slow down the Pack, yet the outcome was never really in question. A double digit snoozefest, if you will. Like you said, when this team is firing on all cylinders, boy oh boy, they are as unstoppable and dominant a team I've ever witnessed. Praying the injury bug packs it's bags and goes and sabotages another team and leaves us alone the rest of the season. People always talk about so many things needing to happen for a team to hoist the Lombardi trophy, from luck, avoiding injuries, etc. We've been dealing with major injuries to this team since game one, and our only loss came in a game we lost by two points, and for all intents and purposes, we should've walked out of there with a W.
  3. I will say this. I was definitely as confused as many others yesterday watching Green Bay continue to run the football as the clock simply ticked away. In my mind I did feel a bit like they were kinda throwing in the towel. There was way too much time remaining with them down three scores at one point. That's the reigning league MVP under center, I don't care if you've got Kelvin Benjamin with turf toe, Antonio Brown with a lot on his mind, and Josh Gordon with an ounce of gangja in his socks, IMO you let Rodgers air it out.... So yeah, last night probably was the first time the thought crossed my mind, "uhh, is GB just giving up?"
  4. In my yahoo pick em league, in weeks one and two I made picks for every game EXCEPT the Bills games. Buffalo was victorious. Week 3 I made picks for ALL the games, obviously picking Buffalo to beat Miami. We all know how that game turned out. SOOOOO, every week since week 3 I have made my picks for every game EXCEPT for the Bills games. End result, W for our Bills! (Side note: I've also stopped wearing Bills shirts on game day. Yesterday I made the mistake of wearing my white Bills Mafia long sleeved t...after Allen threw that 2nd pick I quickly took it off. Problem solved! 👍
  5. I respectfully disagree. I thought BOTH Singletary and Cook played excellent tonight. They played like the one-two punch this team needs, and if cook continues to develop and grow, our backfield, IMO, is set. I am so happy Beane didn't just go out there and sign a RB before the trade deadline, or give away precious draft picks. Week after week Motor continues to improve AND impress. I have ZERO problems with Beane not acquiring another RB to this roster, and rolling with what we have. It's really a wonderful feeling to play a dreadful entire second half of football and still walk away with a double digit win. This team is truly something special.
  6. I thought Singletary looked excellent out there that first half....he ran well, was decisive, hit the hole hard and fast, and looked good catching the ball as well.... Then Cook comes in and looks good as well. I don't think you could've asked for a better first half from either of em, and something tells me we're gonna see a healthy dose of both this 2nd half.... Kareem who?? Let's go Buffalo!
  7. This 1000%. That play, and that exchange between Allen and McKenzie was as picture perfect as could be. My goodness that was a thing of beauty...
  8. It was just the nickname I acquired in college. I wasn't the most dashingly handsome guy, but I most definitely was blessed with the gift of gab, and stayed with a pretty gorgeous gf.
  9. Well said Alpha, I couldn't agree more. Before I actually watched the video, all I was hearing is "Oh Hunt kicked a female." Like you said, I absolutely don't condone hitting women, but his case was overblown if you ask me. I've seen harder kicks at my 10 year old niece's Ju jitsu class. I would absolutely be happy with Hunt being brought in to pair with Singletary for the right price. A 2nd? Not so much only because we just spent one on Cook, and I still believe we haven't seen his best football of the season by a long shot. I would be okay with a 4th, and perhaps a 3rd...
  10. I most certainly wouldn't be upset if this comes to fruition, but at this exact moment I would give the edge to McKenzie just based on his experience, and the fact his speed MUST be respected. His presence alone adds another dimension to the offense with his lighting fast speed. However, I will say Shakir looked very good yesterday, and agree with those who talk about how fluid and smooth he looks with the ball in his hands. Loved his concentration on that TD catch, because in my opinion, that wasn't an easy catch especially with the defender in the position he was in.
  11. HOLY SMOKES!!!! Dayum that is an impressive stat, especially considering I was fully enamored with Sauce Gardner and fantasized about us getting him. Yeah, Elam is gonna be just fine. Dare I say I could easily see him being our CB1 one day in the not-so-distant future. Kids got the prototype size, great speed, solid tackler, good in run support.
  12. No concern whatsoever for Elam. The kid is a gamer all day, and let's not overlook the fact that he's got a good head on his shoulders. A first round pick, who gets bumped for a sixth rounder to start the season despite a solid training camp. Does he gripe and moan, no? He puts his head down, keeps working, and plays darn well when his number is called. Yeah he was picked on yesterday, but I didn't think he was abysmal by any stretch. Not only that, he snagged his first pick on a pass that he was supposed to intercept. Let's not forget Tre had a few bumps and bruises his rookie year as well. I anticipate nothing but great things ahead for number 24.
  13. Count me among those who do not have a problem with your topic. I agree with Meatloaf in the sense that yes, we blew Pittsburgh out of the building, but I also would've liked to have seen more out of Keenum. Granted, it was mop up duty AND McDermott had called off the dogs to the tune of pretty much the entire starting offense, but let's be honest, Keenum didn't do anything to inspire confidence. I'm much more willing to discount his performance because of the circumstances, but boy he underachieved. And as much as I love Fitzy, I simply do not believe he has anything left in the tank to be a legit QB2 anymore. Here's to JA staying super healthy and injury free the entire season (runs and knocks on some wood).
  14. Couldn't agree with you more regarding the way the D played, still missing so many significant players. It's downright scary. Kudos to Von for getting another sack today and just barely missing another....I know it's only four games but in my opinion, the way he's playing I'm almost expecting double digit sacks, quite possibly even more.
  15. Great write-up as always, thank you Shaw. Kudos to the team for finally getting the W in a close, one score game. I know it's been said often but McDermott and Frazier have been excellent at second half adjustments, and this team came out in the second half on a mission. I mean they shut the Ravens out, big time. In the 2nd half, Lamar Jackson had 36 yards passing and two ints. The defense played some of the most disciplined, yet aggressive and swarming football I've seen so far this young season, and that's a seriously scary thing considering how many players we are still missing or are less than 100%! Praying Poyer is fine, the guy proves every time he's out on the football field he deserves to be paid. He's a true difference maker. Coaching gets an A+ for that final drive, along with Allen knowing exactly where the first down marker was. Clock management at its finest. What a victory. Home for Pittsburgh, where I fully expect us to make life hell on the rookie QB, have no mercy, and run the Steelers out of the stadium hopefully by halftime.
  16. To hear that is definitely concerning. However, count me among those who feel like it's still way too early to label him a bust, or give up on him. Yes, his fumble game one was a costly one, and his drop today was as well. I feel like had he made that catch he could've gained some serious yardage. But let's be honest, it's pretty obvious from the few touches he HAS gotten, he's shown a real burst of speed, that extra gear that both Motor AND Moss lack, which is reason for excitement. I don't doubt the fumble and the drop may have shaken his confidence, but I believe that once the game slows down for him, and 2)the coaches give him more touches, that he still has the potential to be our RB1.
  17. God, seeing that video never gets old! 👍
  18. Friend, We were missing one starting CB, BOTH safeties, two starting defensive tackles, pregame. At game time we found out we were also going without our starting center. During the course of the game, we lost our RG and RT, our starting TE, AND our #1 receiver for large portions of the game. 1.We gifted the Dolphins a turnover at our own 6 yard line. 2.Gabe Davis dropped an easy TD. 3.Van Rotten caused us to miss a FG attempt right before the half. 4.Milano missed a guaranteed pick six. 5.Tyler Bass missed a chip shot 38 harder. 6.Allen missed McKenzie for a sure TD. 7.We mismanaged the final drive that should've ended in a game winning FG attempt. We left a gazillion plays on the field. Miami left none, and played as perfect a game as they could've. And we lost by two points, in the final seconds of the game. There's no doubt in my mind we're the best team in the league.
  19. If you would've asked me before the game, I would've said Dane Jackson or Micah Hyde. I had no idea Morse or Poyer weren't playing. In hindsight, MOST DEFINITELY Morse. In my opinion, Van Rotten was abysmal, and to me it seemed like Josh was out of sync quite a bit yesterday. I know that our O line struggled as a whole, and it seemed like the Dolphins D line was able to collapse the pocket and harrass Josh all day, but there were entirely too many bad snaps, and Van Rotten was singlehandedly responsible for the missed FG opportunity right before the half. So yeah, Morse by a country mile. But I also agree with you, I really would've liked to have Diggs out there at 100% our last few offensive possessions. He was clearly both gassed and cramping bad....he could've been the difference between a W and an L because Allen would've had the peace of mind knowing he had his #1 guy out there.
  20. I agree with you 100%. Now that you and several other posters have pointed this out, it makes total sense. I was just commenting in another thread how it seemed so weird that the Bills were struggling so bad with the heat, and cramping. I remember watching the game at one point and the camera panned to the Bills sideline, and I said to myself "damn they look hot baking in that heat". I don't know if I call it smart thinking or an unfair advantage or what, but it's DEFINITELY a considerable home field advantage for at least the first two months of the season....
  21. This x 100. This is what it really boiled down to in a nutshell. If you think about it, we basically played our worst game of the short season and Miami gave us their very best and played lights out, making very few mistakes(or at least we couldn't capitalize on them). You take that into consideration coupled with us missing damn near half the team, and only losing by two, in the last seconds of the game.....I can't help but be encouraged. This team, firing on all cylinders, is simply UNSTOPPABLE. Period.
  22. Excellent, excellent points you bring up, especially with the heat. It seemed to me like we really struggled with the heat and cramping. Not to say Miami's players didn't too, but it looked like our guys were really struggling. In the 4th, Diggs just looked absolutely gassed. You also made a great point about how much those first two games, both prime time national spotlight games might have taken a toll on us, both physically AND emotionally.... coupled with us having so many injuries AND coming into Miami on a short week. To leave as many plays and points on the field like we did and still be in a position to win the game is a testament to just how good this team is.
  23. Guys, A loss is never an easy thing to swallow, especially for us Bills fans this day and age, considering the fact we have arguably the best, most talented team in the NFL AND are the consensus super bowl favorites. I go into every game fully expecting to win, and there's not a team in this league that scares me. With that said, and for the first time in a very long time I was very nervous heading into this game, for obvious reasons: starting two rookie CB's against two of the fastest and talented receivers in the league, both starting safeties out, our two best defensive tackles out and a third less than 100%, one of our starting LB's less than 100%, our number two WR less than 100%, ditto for our starting TE. THEN, right before kickoff we find out our center is out for the game. Really? No worries. But to add injury to more injury, during the course of the game, we manage to lose two more starting offensive lineman! Our RG AND RT. Oh yeah and btw, our all world number one WR is lost for significant chunks of minutes due to cramping/injury. Due to injuries or whatever, our offensive line was overwhelmed all game. Even though he threw for 400 yards, Josh looked out of sync for much of the day. He rarely had any time to throw, as it seemed like the offensive line was completely overwhelmed by Miami's front four. The pocket seemed to collapse around him all day, and even though the stat line says he was only sacked four times, he was hurried or knocked down far too often. Singletary was blown up at or behind the line several times. Singletary's rushing numbers, 9 carries for 13 yards. Moss's rushing numbers (minus his 43 yard scamper), 3 carries for 3 yards. Buffalo giftwrapped Miami a TD by giving them the ball at the 6 yard line. That last drive of the first half, Van Rotten was utterly abysmal in his snapping duties, and was singlehandedly responsible for us going into the locker room without at least a FG attempt. The usually reliable Bass missed what should have been a chip shot 38 yard FG. Tua gifted Milano with a pass right into his mitts that should've been a guaranteed pick six. Yet despite ALL that happening to us, despite everything that went wrong, there we were at the end of the game in a position to limp out of Hard Rock Stadium with a W. Going into a game vs a hated division rival, in 90 degree temps, missing a frumptillion players, and losing by 2? I don't think I realized it FULLY, until today, just how effing deep, talented, and utterly amazing this team is, and the potential to do other-worldly things on the football field. When this season is said and done, I really wont even try to guess how many records are shattered. I remain as encouraged as ever after today's loss. Maybe even more so. LET'S GO BUFFALO!
  24. Normally I would agree with you, but with our D being so short-handed, I feel like we need all hands on deck for this one, and if he's close to 100%, I say suit him up...
