  1. I wouldn't be surprised a bit if the ankle was still bothering him to a degree. To me, it seems just these last couple of games, last week in particular, that he's looked alot closer to normal, which could also explain why last week against the Pats he looked to be alot more himself. I'm hoping that that's been the reason for his lackluster play this season. Like you said, with this little mini-bye, I'm expecting several players to heal up/rest up, and come out with their hair on fire against the Jets. I am very wary of making predictions during the season, but I have never felt more confident/excited for our next game.
  2. Winner winner chicken dinner, at least in my opinion. We all know McD is particularly tough on the rookies, and keeps them on a VERY short leash, almost to a point of frustration for me. IMO, as soon as one of the rookies makes a mistake, he's getting yanked. Not saying this is the case every single time, but I've seen in more than a couple occasions a rook making a mistake/mental error and get pulled darn near immediately and not see the game the rest of the day. Now I don't know if this is the reason for Elam being a healthy scratch, but it wouldn't be a surprise if it was. I agree with you 100% that perhaps McD/Frazier wanted to run nickel exclusively, and felt like Rhodes was particularly stronger in run support, AND/OR wanted to give Elam a little extra rest to continue healing up. I think Elam is going to be just fine. I am more than pleased with the progress he's made this year, love both his attitude AND his work ethic. It really, really spoke volumes to me when he was benched in favor of Benford to start the regular season. Being the teams first rounder, also knowing they traded up for him, could've been damaging to his ego/psyche, yet he didn't complain, didn't let it affect his game when he finally did go back in the game. Matter of fact all he did was play harder with the opportunities he was given. Loved seeing that from our first round CB.
  3. After reading that article on him wanting close to 20 mil per year, AND anything more than a one year deal, please count me in the "no thank you" group. Here's my reasoning. There's still five weeks left in the regular season, plus the playoffs. Alot can happen in that time. McKenzie has really started to turn it on lately. Also, it seems like Gabe is starting to settle down, play better, more consistent football, and win more of Josh's trust. I think injuries had alot to do with his underwhelming play this year, and I'm thinking he's finally starting to get close to 100%. I haven't given up on him becoming our undisputed #2 guy. Even with his inconsistent play this year, he has still shown flashes of being the guy we all envisioned. This may not be a popular opinion, but I honestly feel like bringing in Beckham at this point could prove to be counterproductive. And we already know he's not coming here for cheap. With all the uncertainties surrounding him, I'd much rather stick with what we have than risk giving up an arm and a leg for a guy that we're not even certain is an upgrade over what we have. And as great of a wizard Beane is with the cap, to get Beckham means ultimately letting someone else walk. Just my two cents.
  4. Very accurate points you bring up with regard to Cook leaving alot of yards on the field. I am just as happy as the rest of us to see Cook getting more touches, and doing something with them, but you're right, alot of times I notice him falling easily, or even before he's touched sometimes. His speed is outstanding, and I do believe when he is finally able to put it all together, he's got the chance to be one heckuva back. He's definitely made some nice progress as the season has gone on.
  5. Agree. I hate to nitpick after an awesome victory like last night, but one thing that kinda irks me, and again this is just my two cents, but I feel like we struggle with screen passes, and we struggle to STOP opposing teams screen passes.... I concur with what SCBills said in that I do think we'll start seeing better results with the screens/misdirections/horizontal throws when Dawkins is back in the lineup and closer to 100%, and the timing.... definitely the timing...many times the screen is there for the taking and we just don't seem to execute it properly...and watching Jones take that screen to the house in the first quarter made me quite envious. Still a solid, workmanlike effort, and if we keep seeing the run game produce the way it has these past few weeks, no reason the W's won't keep piling up. One more quick note....doesn't it seem like Singletary seems to get better and better as the regular season winds down? I mean last year, he played well, but the last few weeks of the regular season and the playoffs, he seemed to take his game to another level. I'm feeling like this is what I'm seeing this year as well.
  6. I know I have been one of many on here clamoring for Cook to get more touches, in hopes of one day being our featured back, but I gotta say last night I was thoroughly impressed with how both Cook and Singletary performed. IMO, they made one heckuva one-two punch, and at least to me, for the first time last night I felt like their running styles complimented one another to perfection. Credit to Dorsey for calling a great game, and sticking with the run the entire evening. I know that alot of it had to do with the fact that we were up double digits, and was simply trying to eat up the clock, but NE's defense simply had no ability to shut down our running game. Loved seeing the balance in carries as well. Cook finished with 14 carries, 64 yards with a 4.6 ypc average. He also had 6 catches(on 6 targets) for an additional 41 yards. Singletary finished with 13 carries for 51 yards. Both guys ran hard, ran smart, and held on to the football. A solid, efficient all-around effort by both, and I love seeing them be this efficient running the ball because that's less pressure on 17 having to run as much. Hope I'm not reaching when I say watching Cook and Singletary last night brought back fond memories of seeing Thomas and Davis in the backfield....Thunder and Lightning anyone? Incredibly pumped for the Jets game next week. Let's go Buffalo!
  7. Got it. So what you're saying is, had he been in bounds when he landed, even though the ball moved, as long as it never touched the ground, it would have been an INT?
  8. Here's my thing.....first of all, this was a potential TD catch. The Bills are trying to keep the Patriots out of the end zone, and IMO Hamlin was simply trying to prevent that the best(and probably only) way he knew how. He DIDN'T lead with his helmet. Yes, his shoulder did make contact with the receivers head, but he also ducked into the hit. This is a guy going full speed. To ask him to slow it down is just pure ludicrous. Also, Hamlin has never been labeled a dirty player. Yes, he is a physical player, but that's one of his best attributes. It's plays like that that are watering down the authenticity of the game if you ask me. Personally, I don't think the hit warranted a flag, BUT, I can see why it was thrown. However, disqualifying him was flat out WRONG. Again, I go back to the point that this was a potential touchdown catch, FFS you're supposed to separate the receiver from the football.
  9. I felt the exact same way. Where my confusion lies is, like you said, Poyer makes the interception(✔️), makes sure to get that second foot well in bounds(✔️), as he's making sure to get both feet in bounds, he clearly has full possession of the football, it is secure and not moving(✔️)...and even after he hits the ground, the ball never makes contact with the ground! Yes it moves, but he is clearly underneath it, and it in no way ever hits the turf. I thought that was indisputable evidence.
  10. I agree, I didn't think he led with his helmet, iMO it looked like he got him with the shoulder....I know it's been said many times, but these guys are running full speed towards someone trying to do whatever they can to break up that pass...to ask them to pull up AND make sure their form is perfect is just unfair. I will even go as far as to say I can live with the flag, but to disqualify him was just plain wrong. Solid, solid freakin win, road win AND division win, now with extra rest time to heal up. Let me go ahead and say this now, come Sunday, December 11th, the Buffalo Bills, the 12th man, Orchard Park, and Highmark Stadium is going to be a PLACE OF NIGHTMARES for the New Jersey Jets!
  11. Yeah that's crazy. He HAD to have had a bad day or something, and a momentary lapse in sanity......I had to re-read the other guys comment again to see if I maybe missed something, but to me, it was quite benign....
  12. Holy crap. If that really did come from Lamar, that's shocking to say the least. First off, you're an NFL quarterback. You're watched every day by millions upon millions of people. Fans are gonna be fans and often times say crazy things. But that wasn't even that big of a deal! I'm thinking someone just caught him on a bad day or something.....if he got that upset over that trivial comment, I'd hate to see his reply to something seriously mean or personal or spiteful......jeez
  13. He sure did. I have no doubt the Pats are gonna be fired up... I'll be honest, I didn't expect them to be 6-5 at this point in the season. As much as I hate them, Belichick has them overachieving, and Thursday's game is gonna be a dogfight, at least in my opinion. We just have too many injuries right now to blow teams out. Maybe I'm being overdramatic, but I also feel like Belichick has been waiting to face us ever since we humiliated his Pats last year....TWICE. I mean we didn't just beat them, we straight up eviscerated them, in front of the entire country. Both the team AND Josh Allen set all kinds of records in those games, and Belichick's ego took a major humbling. Remember back in 2003, Buffalo played the Patriots, and spanked them 31-0? It was the year the Pats cut Lawyer Milloy, and he signed with the Bills....even recorded a sack...well go figure, in the second meeting that year, the Pats beat us....and what was the score? 31-0. You think that was coincidence? I don't.
  14. Another week, and what I anticipate to be another dogfight we'll be in. Not that New England needs any extra motivation to play us, seeing how we whipped the dog s**t out of them the last two times we played, but I'm sure they're ticked about losing to Minnesota yesterday. Here's to hoping a semi normal week of practice, a few days rest, and possibly getting a few players back helps us bring our A game Thursday. Division rival, primetime game... A few notes: Hopefully they up Tre's pitch count, and it's him and Elam as our 1 and 2. Jackson has been getting abused lately, and so has Benford. Perhaps coming off the bench will give them a little motivation. I'm hoping I don't get roasted for saying this, but I'm sorry, I don't think Bass deserved a turkey leg yesterday. He didn't just miss an extra point, he missed it at the absolute worst time IMO. And his game winner? He barely snuck that ball past the left upright. It was a 46 yarder, that's what he's supposed to do. I'm not trying to nitpick I promise, but in my opinion Ed Oliver should've easily gotten a turkey leg over Bass yesterday. The guy was a flat out monster, and came through for us on a day where our D line was missing both starting DEs. Finally, New England's Matt Judon quietly leads the league in sacks, with 13. Let's hope our O-line can protect Josh so he can sling the rock.... Sure would be nice to be 9-3 come Thursday night! Let's go Buffalo!
  15. Seeing him walking off the field at the end of the game, when he threw that fan his baseball cap was definitely at least a little bit encouraging. Sometimes a player's body language (post game) can offer a little bit of insight as to the significance of the injury. Here's to hoping he'll be back quickly. HOWEVER, If Von's body language today is an indicator, he's probably done til the playoffs......of 2027...
  16. A-freakin-men, and that is a huge point you bring up. Thank God Josh was able to gain those extra ten yards because like you said, add those ten extra and it's wide left by a significant amount.....and I am NOT among those who thought missing the extra point helped us out. At the time Bass missed that extra point, I was shouting obscenities that would've made Andrew Dice Clay uncomfortable. You have no idea how happy I am to come away with a victory today. It makes watching all the other games so much more enjoyable, makes my work week so much more enjoyable. Plus it helps my marriage, because when the Bills lose, I am one sulky, pouty, two-year old girl acting SOB, and noone wants to be around me 😂 This may be me reaching a little bit, but I was so happy for Josh and to see him so emotionally hype, with the big yell after the kick, and hugging Diggs on the sideline. These last couple weeks he has in no way resembled his normal self, so to get this win I imagine he was able to breathe a sigh of relief. In a way I feel like he was able to exorcise the "13 second" demons. Perhaps now he begins to pick up the pieces and put his MVP campaign back in full swing.
  17. I would be absolutely ecstatic if that were the case. I'm no doctor, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but that seems like a tall, tall order.
  18. We live and die with Josh Allen, and there isn't a quarterback on the planet I'd rather have than # 17. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that when we need a game winning drive, doesn't matter who we're playing, that we ALWAYS have a chance with him under center.
  19. Cook definitely has that explosiveness we all have seen and talked about, and I have high hopes that one day he becomes our featured back, but I agree with you that right now Singletary NEEDS to be the guy. As much as I campaigned to give Cook more opportunities, he needs more time to develop and learn the offense, as well as work on his blocking as well as ball security, etc. That drop today was rough, and he didnt help his cause doing it right in front of McD. Also, with all of the injuries we've had to endure, my guess is every game here on out is gonna be a dogfight, and we no longer have the luxury of experimenting with anyone. All Singletary has been is consistent, and even though he doesn't have the speed that Cook does, he is running the ball very well right now IMO. He has good burst through the line, and like others have mentioned, the more touches he gets throughout the game, the better he performs. Unfortunately, because we've been in so many close games lately, we haven't had the luxury of sticking with the run a whole lot.
  20. Can't say I feel the same way bro. I was effin steaming at him...
  21. Never in all my years as a Bills fan have I seen a season with this many injuries. It's getting to a level of madness. I just pray we're close to healthy come playoff time. I feel like until then every week is gonna be a dogfight.
  22. How does that Michael Jackson song go? You are not alone.... 😂
  23. Be honest, how many of us thought that FG went wide left? I know I did....
  24. That throw, my God, was pure money. Josh delivered, Stef delivered for us....
  25. My nerves are so fried.
