What was your worst take ever?
smuvtalker replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Zay Jones was an absolute steal where we got him at in the draft, and he would play 10+ seasons as a Buffalo Bill. 💩 -

He does look like he has to poop real bad, real quickly! Like if the bathroom isn't where they said it was, he might have an accident! 😄 -

2021 NFL Draft Round 1 talk - Official thread

I can't lie, I'm a little bummed. I was envisioning Etienne catching that screen from Josh and coolly takin it to the house for 6... Ah well, back to reality. -
All-In This Year...Nothing Less For the Lombardi
smuvtalker replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pumped for this upcoming season, no doubt about it. But to be honest, if Beane didn't do a single solitary thing else to this team this off-season, I wouldn't complain, not a lick. The man continually amazes me. In no way shape or form did I expect us to retain Milano, Williams AND Mongo, yet here we sit with all three intact and ready to rock and roll. Anything from this point on as far as FA signings IMO is just gravy. But something in me tells me Beane is far from done. -
This times 1,000,000%. I'm not a celebrity or rich, however for 10+ years before I got married, I frequented several massage parlors in the Atlanta area(I lived literally on the same street as Gold Spa and frequented them many times), as well as had "special" friends that I visited, quite often. Let me assure you, it's ALL about the "regulars". Once you find a place you like, that has the masseuses you like, that's who you're mainly going to go for. You know them and are comfortable with them, and vice versa. And as your masseuse, you want someone who already knows your body, where your sore areas are, the spots that need a little extra TLC. It's very poignant that many of the alleged victims statements mentioned that Watson kept having to tell them what areas to keep paying extra attention to. You want to have your regulars because they don't need to be told where those spots are....Every time you meet a new masseuse or friend, there's an air of uncertainty, uncomfortableness if you will, that goes along with meeting a complete stranger that's getting ready to know you in a very intimate way. Just like Hap said, it's WAY too time consuming to meet a different one every single time!! And heck, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the variety of the business, having different ethnicities of masseuses/friends from time to time, but even then made them regulars. Seeking out completely different masseuses for every encounter is HIGHLY suspect IMHO, and a definite red flag in my book. I'm no lawyer, nor a detective so i can't speculate to Watson's guilt or innocence, but DAYUM it's looking worse and worse by the day!! And I certainly get what Gunner was saying about advising your client not to say anything, but if I really didn't do any of the things these women are saying I did, I'm sorry, I would have to say something....

So do a Diggs type deal this year for a DE?
smuvtalker replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't disagree with you that a good defense is a great offense. During our glory years with our juggernaut offenses, our "bend but don't break" defense wasn't legendary, but we had HOF type talent at every level: Bruce on the line, Biscuit AND Talley at LB, Odomes in the secondary.... But time and time again its been PROVEN that in the big show, its a stellar defense that can pave the way to hoist the Lombardi. I know you said it was only one game last year, but it was THE game!! Tampa's D shut down one of the most prolific offenses to grace the field! They made a half a billion dollar quarterback look like a journeyman.... -
Wow, had NO IDEA we were 6th in QB pressures(I'd bet alot of that is thanks to Mr Hughes), but you are spot on in that our interior D-line IMO is a huge problem. I'm praying that Star's return is a huge relief, but something in me feels like we need to really shore up the interior, whether its via free agency or the draft...the ideal scenario would be Star coming back, making everyone else's lives easier, and we add quality depth via one or two mid-level signings for rotational depth.

Texans coaching staff on Watt - bitter or truthful?
smuvtalker replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can agree with you a bit on how he's publicized his decision and trying to throw little hints out here and there. At first it was kinda funny, but in the end it kinda reminded me of Lebron's hour long ESPN show "The Decision". -
Did you play football, at any level?

THAT is some good stuff my friend and fellow Panther!!! Did u live on campus? My freshman year I lived in Lothrop Hall, then the next year they moved me to Sutherland Hall.... To this day I STILL haven't gotten over them tearing down Pitt stadium and choosing to "share" Heinz Field with the Steelers. There's something to be said about homefield advantage in college football.... Words of pure wisdom/experience my good man....👍👍👍 -

Hey, it was all about the experience right?? 🙂 wouldn't trade it for the world BTW, my sophomore year, we beat Miami, (Pete Gonzalez was our quarterback), 21-17. It was Walt Harris rookie year as HC, and Miami was ranked 22nd in the nation. We had just come off a 2 win season the year prior, and we were picked to finish dead last in the Big East that year. We tore down the goal posts after that win 😄 -

Lol it was a true honor to play for Pitt, however, there was ZERO chance of me getting drafted lol!! I walked on freshman year, and was given a partial scholarship for my junior and senior years. I got to be a part of some phenomenal ass-whuppins; we lost to Ohio State by 60, Penn State by 58, 63, and 48, Miami by 55....😄 We were legendary bad, Johnny Majors was our coach for the first two years, until Walt Harris took over... -

I played for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers....96 - 01....FB my freshman year, RG sophomore through senior year... Side note: Pitt was so bad when I got there, they were recruiting students to walk on in the SCHOOL PAPER...("Do you weigh over 250 pounds, play ball in high school? Then COME ON DOWN!!) 😄 -

Couldn't have said it better myself. I honestly could really care less about it, and my only slither of interest in watching it would be to see the Chiefs get blasted by that Tampa defense....my newly formed hatred for them outweighs my desire to NOT see Brady win another ring, that's how quickly my hatred sprouted for them. I wouldn't mind seeing the Bucs win 7-6, with their lone TD coming on a pick six off Mahomes, and one of their defensive players win the game MVP....that would satiate both of my hatreds 😆 -

Valid points. I don't think I can say I'll be rooting for TB necessarily, a fellow poster said it best...between my newly formed hatred for the Chiefs and my adult lifehood disdain for Brady, I guess he's "the lesser of two evils"... 🤐 -
Deshaun Watson officially requests trade from Houston
smuvtalker replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This 100%. Count me in the minority, and I haven't read all 23 pages of this thread so I don't know how in depth this has been discussed. But I don't think the Texans should give in to his trade demands. I'll admit I'm a bit old fashioned, but in my opinion, you play the damn contract you agreed to. The guy signed a 4 year contract! Are the Texans a dumpster fire? Absolutely. And yes, they got rid of his favorite WR(who I can understand why just a little bit better now), but where I come from you honor the contract YOU SIGNED. I could see if he wasn't being paid a fair amount, and maybe was in the final year or something like that, but that's hardly the case here, he's being paid quite handsomely. And his argument that he's ticked because he wasn't consulted about the team's decision on GM?? Uhh, excuse me, when did Deshaun become a part of executive management? And on top of that, did he expect that when he signed that 4 year contract that he was signing up for 4 years of unparalleled excellence, 13 win seasons, and perhaps two Lombardi trophies? Teams have bad years...but you suck it up, you make the best of the situation, you work with what you have, and you try to make those around you better. You don't jump ship ESPECIALLY when you agreed to remain on that ship no matter what. I think that if ownership gives in to his demands, they're only opening up a pandora's box for every other superstar athlete who's unhappy with his current situation..... Just my two cents y'all. That's it.
