I'll be honest, I didn't realize that he was 6'1, 217. And ran a 4.3 40??? That is some serious speed packed into that big ol frame. Sheesh....

You don't like it? I'd be shocked to see us go WR WR in the 2nd and the 3rd

I absolutely salivate looking at this draft....👍

Guys, hear me out for just a second.... Is CB a situation of dire need, most pressing, urgent as I think the consensus on here feel? I only ask because like I mentioned in another thread, I am very, very encouraged by Dane Jackson's play last year, and do believe he can be our CB2 opposite Tre. I have been a huge fan of Taron's for years now, the guy is an absolute dog at the nickel corner spot, IMO isn't just one of our best tacklers on the team, but he simply just loves gettin after it. I agree with many of you who feel Taron Johnson would perform well on the outside, I just love him so much at the nickel spot I say if it ain't broke don't fix it....I think we go CB at #25, and we surprisingly get one of the top CB's there this year, it wouldn't shock me one bit if we landed McDuffie, Booth, or Elam, and I haven't ruled out the outside shot of Gardner or perhaps Stingley, simply because of the fact there's always four or five jawdropper pics that go completely unexpected that drop guys lower than expected....

Did McDermott's seat just get a little warmer?
smuvtalker replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's a very valid question, and I will say this... IMO, if the Bills didn't do a single additional thing this offseason, right now, this roster is EFFING INSANE, and super bowl caliber, hands freakin down. Even with Tre's uncertainty post ACL tear, not knowing for certain that Dane will be okay as our CB2 and no real depth beyond Taron at the nickel. As a matter of fact, I think this is the most talented roster that I have EVER seen in my entire lifetime. Next season, anything, and I do mean anything short of a Lombardi trophy, would HAVE to be considered a disappointment, to put lightly. So if Buffalo were to lose a game, particularly in the fashion it did in the loss to KC, how can you NOT at some point look at the HC and say, "What's up man?" -
It's getting so hard it's starting to hurt actually.

Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
smuvtalker replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Hey guys, sorry to Debbie Down this celebration, but I've got a bit of bad news. Upon hearing of the Miller signing, I immediately rejoiced, jumping up and down, ran outside, stripped naked and began running down the street. Unfortunately, I'm not in the best shape, and after about 30 yards or so, my heart gave out on me, and I collapsed right on my street. I was pronounced dead about 46 minutes ago. That was the bad news. The good news is I'm happy to report they have wifi up here In heaven, so I'll be cheering our Bills on LITERALLY in spirit!! Go Bills!!! Beane is an effing wizard!!! Let's get this Lombardi trophy dammit!! I'm harder than a 6 pound block of ice in Siberia in a snowstorm with minus 12 degree temps and wind gusts of 29 mph... -
Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal
smuvtalker replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Listen, count me amongst you that is a bit puzzled we let him walk for 4 mil per. And yes, with Tre coming off an ACL tear, CB is most pressing need right now. But I also would like to say I was absolutely thrilled with the job that Dane Jackson did when thrust into starting duty, and I would be lying if I said I didn't have extremely high expectations for him this year. Who's to say he can't continue to blossom into our CB2 role, and hello, we have a freakin dog at our nickel corner spot, uhh his name is Taron Johnson....and when we draft at #25, I fully expect one of the blue chip CB's to still be there for the plucking... -

True story, that was the first movie date I ever took my wife to see when we first started dating. I sat in the theater and cried laughing throughout the movie, while she just sat in mortified silence staring at me. It took like three weeks to get a second date. I think it was because halfway through the movie, I said, "excuse me, I will return, I must go to the sh*thole to remove dirt from a-noose." 😄

Breaking: Tom Brady will play this year with Tampa

Surprised not hearing more Bills restructures/cuts
smuvtalker replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree completely. Again, I have to ask myself, was Williams play subpar this past season, or was his play LAST season such a positive surprise that this past season his mediocrity at his position caused me to feel as if his play dropped off.... -

smuvtalker replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree 1000%. I personally don't think Williams play was subpar at all. I think last year was just such a pleasant surprise, and he far exceeded expectations, whereas this year he, IMO, leveled off and played pretty consistent football. I would not include him amongst the bigger issues I had with the lines play this past season. -
Edit! McKenzie is back on a 2 year deal worth 4.4 million
smuvtalker replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Couldn't be happier to hear this news!!! Count me squarely in the camp who thought he was a goner simply because he played his buns off the last few weeks of the season and in the playoffs and would land a much more lucrative deal to play elsewhere. He completely solidified Josh's trust in him, showed off his afterburners as something that our offense, WR position in particular sorely needs, AND my money is still on him to win the KR job outright this year, and give us stability at a position that we all at some point held our breath this past season. No need in lyin, I'm harder than Chinese calculus right now....GO BILLS!!! -
I have no problem with Star being a Buffalo Bill this upcoming season. The bottom line is, we were a better defense when he was in the lineup than when he wasn't, and I for one thought that his play was a tad improved later on in the season, noticeably getting after the QB moreso than run support, IMO. I highly doubt he accepts a pay cut, and wouldn't necessarily blame him if he didn't. But seeing as of right now the options we have other than Mr. Lotulelie, I'd much rather have him than nobody. Now if somehow we were able to land one Jordan Davis in the draft, I might say eff Star lol.

True story. The first movie I ever got to go see, by MYSELF, was the Karate Kid. I believe I was 10 at the time it came out, and I already had a job! I would walk my neighbor's dog every day after school. I'll never forget, he was a German Shepherd named Dallas, and she paid me 1 dollar per day. So by that Friday, I had earned myself 5 big ones, and my neighbor, the sweet lady that she was, knew I was going to the movies to watch the Karate Kid, gave me an extra 2 bucks. Do you know that seven dollars bought my movie ticket(prime time 7pm), a bag of popcorn, a little box of junior mints, and a large Hawaiian Punch??And after the movie was over, I crane techniqued myself all the way home 😄

One UFA you'd like the Bills to sign? (realistically)
smuvtalker replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall
Raheem Mostert, OR.... Christian McCaffrey Hear me out...look, I loved the effort put forth by Singletary the last 4 weeks of the regular season and the playoffs. He played his butt off, and now he has something to build off of heading into next season. But I think we have seen the best of what Singletary can provide us, and personally, it's not enough. I still think he hesitates when it comes to making a decision, and hitting the hole with vigor and "authoritae". More importantly, (to me at least) he's missing that 5th gear, that homerun, threat to take it to the house any time the ball is in his hands. I would love to go into the season with another RB in place to at the very least be that change of pace back, because as of right now, it doesn't appear that Moss is up for the challenge, and I don't think Breida will stick around to give it another go. I believe Mostert could be had for a reasonable price, and McCaffrey, though oft injured, I believe could shine splitting carries and not being relied on to be the workhorse back. And if things don't work out with him we close the Carolina pipeline shut with kwik-krete. -
Nice topic OP! Here's my 3 cents: 1. You've been a fan since: 1981 is when I remember watching Joe Ferguson hand it off to Joe Cribbs, and throw passes to Jerry Butler. The only defensive player I was aware of at the time was big Freddy Smerlas. 2. Your first Bills memory: Besides the above mentioned, the first TRUE memory of rooting for my Bills was in 1990, when we played the Cleveland Browns in the playoffs. Ronnie Harmon dropped a sure TD pass in the end zone, then one or two plays later Kelly was picked off in the end zone, I think by Clay Matthews....that was my 1st memory of true anguish as a Bills fan. 3. One of your favorite Bills memories: Beating the living hell out of the Raiders 51-3. On the Bills 1st touchdown drive, Kelly dropped the snap, had time to pick up the football, dust it off, re-polish it to a high shine, and still throw the TD pass. I think I knew then the rout was on... 4. Your favorite player of all time and your favorite player currently: Jim Kelly/Josh Allen 5. Some of you guys have some awesome forum names. What does your forum name say about you? Actually, Smuvtalker was a nickname I picked up in college and it just stuck with me through adulthood. Ask my daughter tho and you'd think my name was Cheese-a-saurus.

I would really like to see McKenzie re-signed. Aside from the fact I believe he can be even better as a return man, his speed on the field is undeniable. He brings a whole different element to the passing game when he is on the field, and as the season progressed, it was obvious Josh developed more confidence AND chemistry with him. I think Beane should do what he has to do to retain him. Would he really cost that much to re-sign?

Personally, I feel like Flores is committing career suicide by pursuing this lawsuit. I have little doubt that he has some type of evidence to back up his claims. Going up against the giant that is the NFL, even WITH evidence he's fighting an uphill, severely lopsided battle IMO. And why? He must really be finished coaching in the NFL, because I find it very difficult to believe another team will give him an opportunity after this.

Adrian Peterson arrested today; assaulted wife on plane
smuvtalker replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I acknowledge that was a careless statement, seeing as though I wasn't there and don't know exactly what happened. Matter of fact I just came from ESPN.com and in reading their story, apparently the physical contact that occurred was he grabbed her hand and attempted to yank off her wedding ring, and in doing so, scratched her finger. My bad on the previous post... -
What type of Offense will Ken Dorsey bring?
smuvtalker replied to bubba2018's topic in The Stadium Wall
While I agree with you that (sadly) Allen is our best running threat, count me amongst those who would like to see less designed QB runs. Look, Allen is a freak of nature, an anomaly, a unicorn. I adore his skill set, and to be honest, it's clearly evident that Josh devotes himself to improving his running every year with the same passion and vigor that he does improving his passing. But IMO, it's not sustainable. Daboll at times rode Allen's legs too far, and there was one reason for me to be happy to see him go, that was it. In 2022, I'd LOVE to see Allen's designed QB runs decreased significantly.
