  1. Freakin wow. I just watched it again and it was fuggin awesome. First thing they teach you when you start playing check hockey: keep your head up. I broke my arm in a game in high school on the same type of play. (although I didn't get owned that bad, and I didn't need a trainer to tell me I was still alive )
  2. I don't like the real skinny anorexic looking type. It kinda grosses me out. I like a girl to have a little bit of meat on the bones. You know the saying...more cushin' for the pushin!
  3. Sabres win 4-2. A Chris Drury goal midway through the 3rd gives us the lead, empty netter seals the deal.
  4. That is freakin awesome!
  5. Chad Johnson / Carson Palmer are my guesses
  6. I've been saying for a while that I think Leinart will be a bust. I don't think it will have to do with his physical skills though. I don't know if the kid has the desire to be the best at the NFL level. Honestly, I kind of saw it as a sign of weakness when he came back for his senior season. They had just won 2 national championships, and he would have easliy been a top 5 pick (if not the clear choice #1). To me, that kinda says he was content staying at USC, being dominant, and probably nailing every coed on campus. Now from a logical point of view, no way you can blame him for that. However, I think it shows that he may have been a little bit afraid to get out of his comfort zone and take on a new challenge that would undoubtably have some low points. I have a feeling that this year's QB class is going to be a disappointment (with the possible exception of Young, I still really haven't made up my mind on him). Now that I've said that, Leinart will probably start in the league for 15 years or so, get some rings, and never miss a start.
  7. Yup I'm stoked. Hopefully they'll have it on at BW3's or one of the other bars here so I can throw on my Sabres jersey and go pound some beers and be rowdy.
  8. LOL...Here's the best quote so far: "They wash your butt in the shower and all. I am good for 3-4 times a year after some drunken shenanigans." WTF!?
  9. I think I like the Pacman one best.
  10. Great Job Ralphie. Call it whining, bitching, whatever you want. I for one, am glad that Ralph had the forsight to take on this "issue" now and raise a stink about it. If he did nothing, when he passes on, it could have become a serious issue for the next owner and threat to the future of the Bills in Buffalo. Ralph may sound rough at times when actually speaking at press conferences, but I think he's got more upstairs than most give him credit for (he's gotta have some damn good advisors too). For all the people bashing him over the last few weeks, up yours!
  11. Maybe they can put in a massage parlor and a beauty salon too....Yeah they might not have the most diverse selection of food at the Ralph (aside from the Jim Kelly and McGuire suites) but for Christ's sake it's a FOOTBALL GAME! Sushi? Spring rolls? SALAD? Gimme a break...
  12. Haha. I'll willingly accept the consequences if that ever happens. I don't think I'll be loosing any sleep in the meantime though
  13. Does UB have a phys ed major? If not, that is surprising. I know some of our football guys are phys ed majors that surely aren't splitting the atom in their classes. I'd be willing to bet that most of our guys have "real" majors though. Miami is also a pretty tough school, (I think slightly more selective than UB for undergrad admission) so it's far from impossible to field a decent team of elligible players at a school that's strong academically. I'm sure that UB's academic standards and lack of a "gut major" have some affect on recruiting, but I don't know if you can call it the biggest problem.
  14. It is true Buffalo was up on Miami a couple years back when we played in Buffalo. However, Buffalo was only up by 1 at half on a missed Miami extra point. We took the lead in the 3rd quarter, never gave it up, and ended up winning by 25-7. Miami still dominated every statistical category in conditions that surely leveled the playing field a bit (we were a spread, passing offense and I think it was very cold, rainy, and windy that day). When Miami played Buffalo 2 years ago here in Oxford, the final was 59-3 I believe. UB actually kicked a FG with a couple minutes left in the game on 4th down to avoid the shut out. This year Miami won 54-13 with UB scoring twice in the 4th quarter after Miami had taken a 54-0 lead, forcing 8 turnovers in the process. We weren't even that great this year! Maybe it wasn't like college team vs. a bad high school team, but from what I saw it was still like a college team playing high schoolers. Once again my point isn't just to rag on UB or fellatiate Miami (ok maybe a little ), but I don't buy it that they can become competitive in the near future. From what I've seen, the quality of high school football is quite a bit better in Ohio and the Midwest in general than in New York. This is where most MAC schools get their players from. What at UB would attract any of the "better" recruits from outside of WNY to come to UB over the 5 or 6 other MAC schools that offer better football programs and are probably much closer to home? Gill may be a great coach and recruiter (as in recognizing talent, etc), but I don't see how he is going to sell UB to prospective football recruits.
  15. Probably because they are VERY far off from being competitive in the MAC, let alone a major conference. I've seen pretty much every Miami football game since I came to school here 4 years ago. The dropoff in talent level between the perennially good to mediocre MAC schools and UB is dramatic. I've seen us play UB here at home 2 times in the last 3 years and honestly it was like men against boys. It looked like a college team against a mediocre to bad high school team. I'm not trying to rip on UB at all, and I give the kids who play on the team all the credit in the world for sticking it out and playing football simply because they love it. When you see all the other competition in the MAC week in and week out though, it's obvious that UB isn't in the same class. The fact that there are 5 or 6 MAC schools that are usually pretty good and get some national tv exposure (and maybe even a couple with a top 25 ranking) must really hurt UB's recruiting. Plus, I don't know what UB's facilities are like, but here at Miami they are wonderful. In the last 2 or 3 years we have gotten permanent lights for night games, field turf, a huge jumbotron, and the 3/4 of the stadium was completely rebuilt. We have a state of the art training facility that is only open to athletes. I think some other MAC schools have recently done major upgrades to their sports facilities as well. If you're a recruit that has a choice between that and UB, what's your decision? I'm sure Turner Gill will bring some improvement to the program, but to think that UB has a chance of even being a MAC contender anytime soon may be a bit of a pipe dream. There are just too many other MAC programs that are better choices from a recruit's perspective. Obviously anything is possible, but I just feel like the cards are stacked heavily against UB being a competitive D1 program anytime in the forseeable future.
  16. Thanks, I probably would have never thought to avoid any of those. Hard to believe you're single...
  17. Wow what a meaningful post.....Jackass
  18. Oh yeah. And it was a real nice day so we had been hanging out at our frat house throwing the football around and drinking some beers earlier that afternoon. Needless to say by the end of dinner I was in the "talk about everything" buzzed mode. After dinner we went out to this bar that's a small German beer garden type place that has 20 or so German beers on tap. After a liter, a shot, and a car bomb with my girlfriend's mom I was past buzzed....
  19. South Park may be one of the best shows ever created. My roomie has all 7 seasons on dvd and we just spend the last hour and a half drinkin some brews and watching episodes from seasons 4 and 5. Simply priceless.
  20. After seing the other beer thread today, I had to dig this up. I was at the liquor store earlier getting some beer and I remembered someone mentioning the Holy Moses White Ale from Great Lakes, so I grabbed a sixer. I'm on #4 now and man is this stuff good. Also in this thread LA and someone else suggested a Duvel. I was at dinner the other night with my g/f and her parents and when the waitress mentioned it, I remembered the suggestion and figured I'd give it a shot. Holy sh-- that was some GOOD stuff. Ended up downing about 3 with dinner. I woulda picked some up today but surprisingly, they didn't have it at our liqour store. Don't get me wrong, when I go out to do serious drinking and get shitcanned I still do the Labatt, Natty, Budweiser, whatever's cheap thing (I mean I am a college student after all), but it sure is fun to try all kinds of "good" beers when I'm looking to relax and drink 6 or so and play some cards or something.
  21. I still love Family Guy but they're 100% right. It was cool how they threw in the line making fun of themselves. Something along the lines of "well at least Family Guy doesn't get off on themselves and get all preachy all the time". Matt and Trey are friggin awesome. That last little thing they did when the Muslims retaliated against America had me cracking up.
  22. For anyone who's interested here's his new interview from this month's Rolling Stone. It's a decent read. http://www.rollingstone.com/news/profile/s...has-player=true
