Biggest Douchebag in the World?
billsfanmiami(oh) replied to billsfanmiami(oh)'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Granted I was buzzed up and there was nothing else on tv, but it was interesting to see some of the ideas that people come up with. I just hit the breaking point when they were shooting a infomercial and Billy Mays kept having to stop the shoot and complain because they weren't set on the products name yet. He was acting like some A-list pampered actor in a legitimate role. Just made me want to slap him through the tv. -
My God this guy is a fuggin tool! I saw him a couple weeks ago on Leno promo-ing the Pitchmen show before it came out. Dude referred to himself in the third person, blabbed on about coming up through the ranks of pitchmen, and just put out an attitude of arrogance that made me ask myself "does this guy realize he is on fuggin infommercials and is not a pro athlete/movie star?" Fast forward a couple weeks till tonight and about 10 beers later. Nothing on TV so I've watched a couple episodes in a row and this guy is a fuggin egotistical drama queen douchebag! (He's like the T.O. of infommercials ) This guy needs a Vince/Shamwow guy type incident to put him in his place!

Yeah I mean I'm sure the guy never played against anyone over 280 in college! -

Literally seconds after that pick I got a text from a buddy who is a Cheifs fan saying "you guys just drafted the kid from Bad Santa!" -
I'm pretty sure those were taken after he was established in the NFL. Im not saying the guy never partied, he was drinking when I met him. I just meant he didn't go out and get into fights, get arrested, and really wasn't a part of the bar scene at Miami (which would be hard to do! )

Gotta agree there. Met Roethlisberger at Miami and he was nice enough but you could sense his cockiness a bit. I dunno if you could really blame him though. He was king of a beautiful campus swarming with good looking girls and was a few months away from being a multi millionaire at about 22 yrs old. From that perspective, a little cockiness is almost expected I guess. He was pretty low key though at Miami as far as going out, partying, etc. Must have had some good people around him to help keep his head on striaght.

I gotcha.I just still consider them recent I guess (just graduated in 06) I would have liked to see Ball St. beat UB last year and run the table as it would have been "better" for the MAC as far as respect compared to the Major conferences. I gotta go on a quick tangent though and defend our '03 team a little in regards to their Iowa loss that year. Miami was in the Red Zone about to score as the first half wound down. I think we were down 7-3. IIRC, Ben throws a pick in the endzone and they returned almost all the way and scored before half. Huge point swing, nothing from Miami in the 2nd half and they lost 21-3. But I wouldn't say they weren't at all competitive, as the 1st half was close. I wouldn't say Miami was irrelevant the rest of the year either. They ran the table beating some "bigger" schools along the way (Northwestern and Colorado St.), smoked Marshall and Bowling Green 2x (ranked at the time I think). Then went on to waste Louisville in the GMAC bowl and finish the year #10 in the AP poll.

I'll bite. Big Ben, Leftwich, Pennington, etc. ring a bell? Not trying to turn this into a my alma mater vs. yours kinda thing but Roethlisberger's final year at Miami was just as dominant if not more so than Davis'. There have been many MAC QB's in recent years that have had VERY productive college carreers.
-
I'm pretty sure he's far from competing for the backup. Remember they used a mid round pick on Troy Smith a couple years ago and if he wasn't injured/sick at the start of last year he probably would have started. I'd guess he has a lock on the backup spot. I think Willy's best shot is to make the practice squad or very best case scenario as a 3rd QB (unlikely IMO).

My panic was toned down a bit after the Levitre trade/pick. I like the other 3 picks but man I hate that Byrd pick!

Your grade of the bills 1st 3 pick

I'd rather have another year of Bryon Scott than another year of Keith Ellison, Derek Schouman/Derek Fine, ???????? at f'ing LEFT TACKLE, Kyle Williams as STARTERS...What a joke. We continue to draft high round DB's when both our lines are suspect, out LB's are below average at best, and we haven't had a real TE in 6 or 7 years.....Jesus I need another beer -
The Byrd pick and that little snippet just rekindled my rage for Jauron that had been somewhat subdued for a few months....Jesus, we all know being a Bills fan is torture but the comedy of errors is almost hard to believe at times....

Round 1: B Round 2: Who has a gun I can borrow? -
I dont give a !@#$ if he had 40 picks. We're fairly deep at CB and are terribly thin at TE, LB, and still even D-line. This is one of the most retarded things I have seen this team do. That's saying a lot because we all know we have done many retarded things lately...god dammit this pisses me off to no end. !@#$ jauron and his hard on for db's..

What about Dwight Freeney, 6-1 268....I suspect that Maybin will add some strength and bulk as he becomes involved with an NFL caliber strength and conditioning program. We needed a speed rusher who can get to the QB. We already have two DE's who can do nothing but support the run. I think Maybin will be able to come in immidiately on passing downs and contribute without a ton of pressure on his shoulders (assuming Kelsay is still on the roster).

I gotta admit, if I'm being "wooed" by a NFL team at Dave & Buster's I'm having some questions about their practices (especially a team that has a reputation as being cheap). Maybe if we draft him they will take him to Texas Road House to celebrate, allowing him to get whatever he wants off the menu!... It may not seem like a big deal to some but for Christ's sake if you don't take him to the Buffalo chophouse or something like that, at least take him to Chef's or some local eatery that will give him a feel for the area and some great food (instead of some chain restauraunt).

Despite living in Columbus for the past few years and slowly warming up to the Buckeye bandwagon, I'm not sold on Laurinitis. He seemed to make fewer plays this past year in a conference that is totally overrated and consists of a lot of "high motor" guys lacking the speed and explosiveness to compete against elite athletes from the SEC, PAC-10, etc... -
This Is One I Completely Don't Get

I dunno what the alternative was but I don't think he was in a contract year. Even if he was, why not a 2-3 year extension with like 12-15 guaranteed? -
I think our current front office may have played a few too many games of Madden. I mean I guess Kirk Chambers could end up being a decent starter if they put him through the "train active team" drills until his eligibility is used up, but I doubt Bell can get his attributes up to par without at least 3 seasons of franchise mode....

Throw me in there too. After having the worst game of his career in the playoffs last year, they throw a bunch of coin at him? ...Watch him go out and light it up next year and prove me wrong but I dunno it seems a lot like the Rams giving Bulger a huge extension before last year. I just feel like both of those guys' best football is behind them. -
If we make this trade it would be yet another mistake by our front office IMO. I know Roscoe makes quite a bit of coin for a PR/seldom used WR but I think his contributions on special teams are more than worth it. Even if he only gets to field a couple punts a game, he usually has at least one where he flips the field position. Every time there is one that is very returnable, he has the potential to bring it back. At the very least, teams will kick away from him and sacrifice 10 or 15 yards of field position to do so. Why we would get rid of a guy who is elite in the role he is asked to do in order to grab an extra 4th or 5th round pick is beyond me. I know we have a bunch of WRs on the roster but cut Jenkins or something. Do we really want McKelvin playing every down at CB, returning kicks, AND returning punts? I like Freddy Jackson as much as the next guy but having Roscoe return punts is a huge area of strenghth for us and I don't understand why we would continue to weaken ourselves in one of the few areas we excel in.
