Ever been to Paul Brown Stadium?
billsfanmiami(oh) replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been twice and will be attending again this year. I went to undergrad at Miami U nearby and have many Bengal-fan friends so we have always tried to attend when they play each other. I live in Columbus now, so the less than two hour ride is a no brainer for me. Less than half the amout of time it takes me to get to the Ralph as a season ticket holder. Anyways, it's a pretty good place to see a game. Most fans are very friendly and the ones that are a little "edgier" are still pretty tame compared to other places. Actually most of the fans this year were very complimentary of us Bills fans and said we were nothing like the A-hole Steeler fans. The stadium is nice but I disagree with the previous poster who said it's like the Ralph. It's pretty new so it's much nicer inside. Huge restrooms with tons of urinals. Seriously didn't wait in line once. Good concessions. Unlike the Ralph, it seems like the seats sit much farther back off the field. I've been in the upper deck twice and you feel like you're miles away. I have stayed at the Millenium hotel before for an unrelated event and would reccomend it. It's a little less expensive than some of the other downtown hotels like the Hyatt (think we paid like $180) It is walking distance to the stadium. Rooms are very small but if you're just going to crash there it serves it's purpose. If you don't need to be as close, like other's have said I'd look into something across the river. Check out Hofbrauhaus (sp?). Overall good place to take in an away game and weather should still be great at that time this fall. Maybe see you there! -
ANY of you season ticket holders in or around

Last four years we sat in 109 Row 17. I agree with those who said the height is near ideal. Close enough that you feel like part of the action, but the view is not obstructed at all. This year we are actually moving a few rows closer (12 & 13) due to adding some seats, and I'm hoping there won't be a huge difference in the sight lines. -
It was a great night. I'm from WNY but have lived in Columbus for 5 years. Sabres fans were out in full force. I'd say the ratio in the game was split about 50:50 but in the bars before and after the game it was more like 80 or 90 percent Buffalo fans. Everyone I saw was loud and proud, but didn't see anyone acting like jerks. I'm very glad we had clinched before the game, and I think that contributed to the "looser" attitude. If we needed to win that game to get in, I could see a typical Buffalo collapse unfolding, and the crowd could have gotten ugly. Overall, great night and great to see all the Blue and Gold. Also saw some awesome classic Sabres jerseys ie) Christian Ruutu, Mike Foligno, Darren Puppa, Yuri Khymalev, Grant Fuhr to name a few. Can't wait till they play again next year in Columbus.

NFL loses another great player from the 1980's

Definitely remember the name but a little before my time. The breif articles I read seem to point to a Lee Evans comparison (if we're trying to compare to a current Bills player) -
I know there are some Chipotle lovers here

Chipotle is my crack. Had a barbacoa bowl for lunch yesterday. -
Wanna buy Deion Sanders' house?
billsfanmiami(oh) replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I drove right by that house once. Needless to say, we were all pretty amazed. Figured it was a football player since we saw the goalposts. It's kind of out in the middle of nowhere. When we stopped for lunch in the next "town" we were talking about it and our waitress informed us that it was in fact Deion Sanders' house. -

Grill & Skillet!!!! Nice! We literally just discovered it about a month an a half ago per some friends of ours that also live in Bexley and came across it. We've been back three or four Sunday mornings for breakfast. If you ever see a younger guy in there in Bills gear it's probably me. Also love Katzinger's over in German Village. Used to live down there, so we went more often but GREAT sandwhiches. Love the garlic pickles too. For a upscale steakhouse with an "old time" vibe try the Top Steakhouse also in Bexley. It's right across the street from the grill & skillet. Pricy but good service and really good food. Simple and not too complicated. Back to German Village area, the Thurman cafe is THE place for burgers. Always has a wait as it's very small but so worth it. Short North literally has dozens of great places encompassing all kinds of cuisine. A good place for some cheaper fare is the Press Grill. Also kind of small but good grub. Any of the Cameron Mitchell restaurants in Columbus are good too. I could go on but I'm in the Philly airport drinking beers and watching the Sabres game! -

My wife and I live in Bexley and we're probably a 30 second drive from Giuseppes. We've eaten there a few times and just think it's just ok. The atmosphere is very nice especially in the summer when you can sit outside. I just haven't had the best of luck with the food. Had the lasagna one night and it was awful! Like half frozen awful. We have some friends that think it's great. We've eaten at many of the best places in Columbus and Giuseppe's isn't even in our top 10. Might give it another shot, as everyone has an off night here and there. -
I came across some Hopslam a couple summers ago in Indiana and had a couple. Pretty great stuff.

In other news: water is wet, the sky is blue, etc. .....Sorry couldn't resist. I thought that was pretty common knowledge. -
Terry Pegula set to take over the Sabres?
billsfanmiami(oh) replied to Buftex's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It doesn't have any bearing on the main points of the article, but I'm pretty sure Penn St. lost to Florida yesterday. Do these guys really not check over their work before they "click the send button"? -
THANK YOU. I think we have been devoid of even competent QB play in Buffalo for so long, that as a whole we tend to think that we need to get a QB who is flawless week in and out. I live out of WNY now so I have the ticket and watch a decent amount of other games on the weeks where the Bills are away. Even the very best of the QB's in the NFL will throw a couple of very dangerous/terrible passes every week. It's part of the reason that the best are actually the best. They're not scared. Hate to say it, but I think Brady is the best of playing at a high level week in and out without as many highs and lows as most QB's. If Trent was still starting this year I honestly don't think I would still be driving 4+ hours one way each week for all the home games. Yeah our record may suck but damn this is the most entertaining football I have seen in a number of years save for 3 games. I didn't believe it at first but I'm really starting to believe that with a couple more pieces, this team may be able to do something with Fitz at the helm. He really has had a great season and I wish we could just fast forward to next year to see if this whole thing progresses even more. If we can somehow win one of these next two games (esp. next week), count me 100% on the bandwagon.

And boom goes the dynamite....

It looks like Jauron is coaching today. Why are they playing so scared/conservative on offense?

Official McKelvin Discussion Thread

McKelvin is a freakin BUM. Get this half-brained moron off the field. Sure glad we let Greer go so that we could use an early draft pick on this dumbass. -
Bills @ Bengals - 11/21/10
billsfanmiami(oh) replied to udonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be there. Short drive from Columbus. Unfortunately, we got our tix in the summer and paid around $80 each ...We have 8 seats and will be bringing 4 Bills fans to meet up with 4 Bengal fan college buddies of mine. I don't know if they have our tailgate spot picked out yet but I will suggest this place if they don't. -
Make that 4th and long and another lost timeout.

What a Fing joke this Defense is. Literally worst defense I have ever seen.

Little doubt our O-Line is the NFL's worst now
billsfanmiami(oh) replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Glad I'm not the only one who saw that. Yes, I understand our o-line is awful, but I really don't understand how anyone can defend Trent anymore. He is a p*ssy that's afraid to throw downfield and has no pocket awareness. I was skeptical but wanted to give Trent the benefit of the doubt this year based on Gaily's history with mediocre QB's. By week 2, I've seen enough to know its the same old Trent who will at best be a backup on another team next year. It's going to be hard to watch this team this year until he gets hurt and it's Fitzy's turn. He blows just as much but at least has some stones. -
I obviously sense your sarcasm and I'm afraid....I'm not saying Poz or Mitchell or any of our other LB's are going to the pro bowl any time soon, but if you honestly can't see that they are at the very least representative of a NFL player, then hats off. Kelsay was borderline as a 4-3 DE and is an absolute embarassment as a 3-4 linebacker. How anyone who watches the games cannot see this, is beyond me. The only interesting thing to watch this year may be the battle between him and Cornell Green to determine who is the worst player on the field.
-
If you or anyone else out there can even attempt to defend the fact that Chris Kelsay is on the field, you're fing insane. It is maybe the most disturbing thing about this team. This guy shouldn't even be a depth player let alone a STARTER at LB. It makes me sick.

I live in Columbus and he is (obviously) a legend in Buckeye nation. He does a daily radio show on the local ESPN affilate in the afternoons and literally the day of or the day right after Stefanie passed away, he was on the air in his normal spot taking calls because "she would have wanted him to." Really an amazing family and one the most honorable guys to put on a Bills uni. Congrats Spiels you deserve it.
