  1. But you didn't off yourself so you can't be him. BTW, do you know if he was wearing the t-shirt?
  2. The only problem I can see is that other players and future draft picks my see the tactic as unfair. The Bills would have to point out that Maybin is the exception and that they have had few problems digning others in recent years. Of course the Bills would be correct but the perception could still be otherwise. The Bills could not do much to control that. Either way, Maybin's hand is still forced.
  3. Lavar Arrington doesn't even blame the Bills but you do?
  4. Please ignore the fact that Maybin's camp, not the Bills FO, is blaming the whole thing on Crabtree. Oh wait, you already did.
  5. That is exactly what should be done and the process should have either already begun or it should begin VERY soon. The only thing I would add is that the Bills should break with tradition and announce their offer and the decreasing terms publicly. They should explain their position and allow their fans to understand. They should invite Maybin to state his position as well. This would squelch any complaints because any position Maybin might have would be clearly seen as ridiculous as he tried to tie himself to an injured but top flight talent. This strategy would put more pressure on Maybin as other teams would see him for what he is, and be less likely to draft him next year. He could get the number 11 money he deserves this year or sit for a year and get the number 42 money he would deserve by then. If the Bills are currently offering him #15 money, they would be rightly seen as the villian. Of course, they are not so this won't happen. Going public forces Maybin's hand.
  6. In all fairness it is one thing to like or dislike his level of talent but I don't remember you or anyone else saying he was a greedy malcontent. I hope if he ever plays for the Bills he does well, but if he fails he can always just blame it on Crabtree.
  7. Let me be the first to say: Goodbye. Please tell Ed we all said hello.
  8. If the Bills paid everyone 5 slots higher than their selection number, would that make them professional? The Bills have signed all of their picks except one. All first round picks have signed except three. Two of those three are players who at one point were listed as top of the draft talent. The third was picked higher than expected. Maybin's own people are the ones saying they are waiting for Crabtree. And the Bills are unprofessional?
  9. A checkout clerk at Wal-Mart demanding to be paid like Bill Gates is also looking out for his family. You have to know where you're at. If you don't at first well then hey, that happens to all of us. If you continue to dig in your heels even after reality strikes, you have low character.
  10. Both Smith and Crabtree were at one time touted as possible #1's overall. They are making the case that extenuating circumstances are robbing them of money. I don't agree but that is their contention. Maybin has no such contention and is trying to attach himself to Crabtree's case. That is 100% greed.
  11. Those factors can all be compared with others drafted around Maybin. The wild card is connecting Maybin to Crabtree which is based in greed, not reality.
  12. Far from it. He is just gullible. Gullibility is not a leadership trait. Poz can still follow and be a good player for us.
  13. Don't get me wrong, all of the blame goes to Maybin, not Poz. It is just Poz's judgement which must be questioned.
  14. I get your sarcasm. I am not saying Poz is a bad player, just that his leadership skills can be legitimately questioned. Not only did he likely vouch for Maybin who has proven to be a ME ME ME guy, but he actually made a Youtube video talking him up. Some things are done privately. When you decide to go public you really go out on a limb. If Poz is easily duped by the like of Maybin, how will he get people to follow him on the field? Don't get me wrong. Poz should still be our MLB, but any thoughts of him being a leader would be a mistake.
  15. Another twist on the insane holdout of Maybin is how it shapes our defensive team leadership. If you look at our defense, there are four potential team leaders based on position, ability and personality. They are: Stroud Schoebel Whitner Poz MS and AS are the strong silent types and not really potential team leaders. This leaves Poz and Whitner. Before the draft, it is almost certain that Poz was asked his opinion of Maybin not only from an ability point of view, but also his worth as a teammate. His reviews must have been at least decent. He did not wave any red flags or the Bills would have passed on Maybin. Given recent events, the Bills brass is almost certainly questioning Poz's ability to assess character. This is a critical part of leadership and there is no way Poz can be viewed well at this point. This leaves Whitner as our defensive team leader for the forseeable future. Personally, I have no problem with this but I know some do. In a way I feel bad for Poz but he should have done his homework.
  16. Money is all relative, I will grant you that. Some people's services are worth more than others. Greed has to do with wanting more than you are worth in a well established market. The best checkout clerk in the history of Wal-Mart holding out for $100 an hour would be greedy whereas Bill Gates asking 3 billion for his shares of Microsoft would not. Maybin wanting #6 money is greed plain and simple. Nobody is saying he shouldn't get millions. Maybin is easily the greediest peron drafted in 2009. And getting more money won't make him any more or less "mediocre".
  17. Most people wouldn't call Ray Lewis a killer to his face either. That doesn't mean he isn't and it doesn't mean Maybin isn't a B word. He is. His own "publicist/leech" Lavar Arrington didn't even blame the Bills. He deflected it onto Crabtree which is a mathematical joke and displays Maybin's desire to get #6 money as a #11 pick. And somehow you blame the Bills? Maybin is GREEDIER than Crabtree because at least Crabtree can make a legitimate case he would have been drafted higher.
  18. And his ego gained 200 pounds. Even Scott Boras/Stephen Strassburg signed. This Maybin guy is too much. The Bills should cut their losses before it is to late and get a third rounder next year for him if they can.
  19. Usually the Bills are lucky enough to avoid the inevitable greedy jerk. It looked like this would be true this year too when they drafted Maybin higher than he was projected. I have no idea if he'll be a good player or not, but he as already proven to be a ME ME ME type. At what point do the Bills rights expire and Maybin end up in next year's draft? Is there a magic date for that?
  20. Try this one. Was this it?
  21. I had hoped it was close for the last couple of weeks but evidently Maybin has been hanging around JAIrus Byrd. He doesn't want to practice. He's not going to go to practice. He's not talking about a game. He's talking about practice. These two guys are an absolute joke. They haven't even played one NFL snap and they are trying to dictate all the rules. The Bills should lower Maybin's offer by $100k a day every day starting tomorrow AM. And they should get their own doctors to check on JAIrus' injury.
  22. I'm glad everybody had a good laugh, but I made that mistake in the title on purpose because this was about the educational system.
