Rooney Rule and Pete Carroll
ieatcrayonz replied to ieatcrayonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no way that Goodell would ignore something which is so obviously an important rule in the NFL. If he has a good handle on small things like eye black statements, he must have a good handle on pervasive racism. I understand that Seattle is a highly racist city, but that does not serve as an excuse. -
Technically, Lott didn't say segregation was better, he said Thurmond would have made a good president. I have as much or more respect for old people than anyone, but let's face it, unless Thrumond was running against two Canadians, then Lott was wrong. Lott'stuff might be racist, maybe not. To be fair to Reid, he basically said he likes Obama because Obama speaks well. Joe Biden once pointed out that Obama takes a lot of showers. Again a positive. Clearly, these democrats don't adhere to common stereotypes which proves they aren't racist.

Rooney Rule and Pete Carroll
ieatcrayonz replied to ieatcrayonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That article came from something called "The Canadian Press". That does not create a lot of confidence. Still, Goodell is probably dealing with it behind the scenes. They may use other reasons to save face, but PC will proabably not end up in Seattle. -
When I noticed there was an announcement from The Four Horsemen I got a little nervous. I am not so worried any more. Good luck.

Rooney Rule and Pete Carroll
ieatcrayonz replied to ieatcrayonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Frazier interviewed because he has the same agent as Mora, who is trying to extract more money from Seattle. He is not being a token, he is being a businessman. Goodell is too into all the details to miss this. If he fines Fred Jackson for D3 eye black, he will defintely stop Seattle in their tracks. He can't really stop Carroll though. If PC wants to go home to Buffalo, he can. -
If Pete Carroll to Seattle is overturned by the obvious Rooney rule violation, should Buffalo go after him? I think his coaching career started with the Bills. Rules are rules and it is pretty clear Seattle broke the Rooney rule. I seriously doubt Goodell lets them get away with it.

Oh....a technology thread. When I read the title I thought you would be bragging about how well you did on your web show. I thought you meant you were "The perfect speaker".

Let's sum this up: He was hitting on this woman in an awkward way. Sad, but not unusual. He needs a lesson in women, not a punishment. He was smoking dope in his car last summer and had a gun in the trunk. Too bad about the gun really, but smoking dope only proves he is stupid....as anyone who smokes dope is stupid. If stupid got you sent packing, there would be 30 trades a day in the NFL. He is driving along and a Drunk Canadian broad stumbles into the side of his car. If we judge people for being unable to avoid drunk Canadian broads at 3AM, what would we expect our society to become? It is like judging cornfields for not being able to avoid locusts.

It doesn't sound like BS completely. It sounds like Lynch was hitting on this dude's wife and doing it all wrong. The guy is jealous and mad at his wife. He is also taking it too far.

No Maybinot? -
After last night's game I'm not so sure. Many people would be considered great prospects and put up great numbers if they played against bad teams on national TV a lot. Scounts figure that stuff out quickly.
-
Nobody wants to see people get hurt but your point is interesting. All of Suh's "big hits" on McCoy did not knock him out of the game, but a few plays against a good team like Bama did. I'm not saying Suh is a bad player, just that the scouts will see he is overhyped based on playing bad teams like Texas. Wouldn't you rather take a risk on him a 7, 8, or 9 than 1? My guess is the Rams would rather have a QB than a risk like that. Wouldn't rather take a risk on a guy dominating agianst teams like Montana State and Mount Saint Union in the 5th round? Maybe we can find a guy like that is Suh doesn't make it to 9.
-
I would have agreed until last night, but Texas is bad. Drafting Suh could pay off but so could drafting a DT that dominated against teams like Montana State. It is too risky to take him at one or two. He may not last until nine, but after last night at least a few teams will be scared away.
-
After dominating the Texas O-line on national TV in the Big 12 Championship, this guy Suh rose the draft boards to the point where he was considered the #1 pick by some. He is a good player and some people knew him before that game, but that game really kicked in the hype. I mean he was dismantling Texas. He must be great right? Well, last night Texas was exposed as being weak up front. They allowed their star QB to be injured early in the game and forced their young QB into many turnovers with their ineptitude. The shine is off the Texas apple. They were exposed as a lucky team that played a weak schedule. Bama is lucky Texas won that Big 12 game or else Boise State may have put up a real fight. This reflects on Texas but it also makes what Suh did look like nothing special. Great games against Texas are a dime a dozen. Clearly, this will not be lost on the scouts and Suh will slip. How far will he fall? Will he make it to number 9? It is hard to say and I think it depends on each teams positional needs. I think it hurts the Bills chances at a QB as the Rams will probably now go in that direction. If you like Suh though, keep your fingers crossed.

If you ask me the other QB looked better. Bad, bad Levi Brown. He is probably still mad at his parents for naming him after a dumb song. He will play with a chip on his shoulder.

Must be the Bills. For disappointment, there first needs to be expectation. -

How is this possible?
ieatcrayonz replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude if they are avoiding injury prone guys with their ad campaign why would they run to Poz? Yes, his hair is beautiful so that is half the battle but the other half is not a winner. He'd break his arm signing the endorsement contract. -
I don't get it
-
I really hope that changes a bit. I would rather have us play Oakland than say Jax again. It seems like we play Jax every year and rarely play Oakland. The schedules are supposed to be getting more balanced and we are getting screwed.

But he will stop causing us first round screwups. -

Look, we all realize it was a mistake at this point. Poz convinced Modrak to make the choice and Modrak was probably just distracted by Poz' beautiful hair. At this point we should just avoid Penn State altogether.....at least until Poz gets a haircut. -
Have you considered the fact that "Te-Bow to T-O" rhymes and could fit well into a marketing campaign?

I don't know what you're talking about but the term "Kitch 22" is derived from an anthropology team that went to study primative cultures in 1922. They happened upon a group of people so stupid that when confronted with a decision...any decision, they would either choose the wrong answer or confuse the issue so much that there became a situation with no right answer. The people were so stupid they literally had no chance of getting anything right. Their entire coutry was filled with dumb people, but this place was especially backward. After a while this stupidity started wearing off on the anthropolgists. They had to get out of there before they became part of the crowd. They wrote a reoprt in a scientific journal called "Kitchener 1922". It became "Kitch 22" for short.
