Hey I am with you, I am just going to see what he does before I go ahead and make a decision. We MUST find a QB period and we will see how that goes. If he goes with the limp wristed girls we have now, then he shows me he isn't the guy for the job.

I also think Nix kinda let the cat out of the bag so to speak. He seemed to indicate whomever they bring in first to interview is their first choice. Now I may have mis understood but he said something like 'if a guy is 5th on your list then he is 5th'. And he did say the interview process can end before they finish the list.

No way in hell he starts. Nix has seen the mess we have at QB and said last night we need a really strong armed QB for the weather in Buffalo.

In his CB interview he singled out QB and how important a strong arm was to cut through the winds. Well that cuts out anyone on this roster. He addressed the fact that the way the Colts are built isn't the way we should be built. THANK GOD! Enough of this smallish BS. I loved how he smiled when he said something to the effect of how they were built in SD was able to beat the Colts 'speed team'. :-) Alright I admit it, I was wrong to have a knee jerk reaction to the Nix hiring and I should give him a fair shot. I have to admit Ralph has me so jaded in anything he does that it is hard not to knee jerk at most of the things Ralph pulls. So I appoligize for running off at the mouth last night. That said, Who he hires as a HC and even more important...how he handles the QB situation will tell us everything about him we need to know. Not one of our QB's is starting talent in the NFL nor do they have the arm needed for our stadium. It will be an interesting few months coming up. I hope this guy is the one to finally get it right. Well Bottom line he is our GM so I guess I gotta give the guy a fair shot. He did say a couple things in his interview with CB I thought were interesting. Only time will tell if OBD is full of **** like normal or they have finally turned the corner.

I feel that was a very interesting interview. The questions remain...how much power does he really have? Is ralph going to butt out and let Buddy run it? Next, Is he going to keep a staff around that has a proven track record of futility in drafting players and signing free agents? I notice he talked about a strong armed QB. Well lets pray he is truthful and gets a real gun slinger in here. I also read another CB article where he talks about the new HC being a good CEO of sorts and hiring great coordinators. He also talks of QB coach and OL coach being a priority. I guess we will see.

Yes. 70 years old and never offered the GM gig anywhere. 2nd to Dimitrioff? That means he still didn't get a GM gig. He was retired till we pulled him out of it. Again I say, Nix is so well respected he sat there in Retirement and NO ONE outside of OBD wanted him. But hey, he is our GM for now

I want to see the proof. Seems the fans of Nix being promoted think he is the reason the chargers are so good. Something about so many of his draft picks being pro bowlers. Well if they were his picks then he ran the draft for them. And you bring up another point, who is going to handle free agency? As you said that is not Nix's nitch. Surely we aren't keeping John Guy and modrak to do that.

Yeah God forbid we even interview those guys. I am really glad we didnt hire a 70 year old that is so respected in the NFL world he has never been offered a GM job till now. And I sure as heck don't want to pull a guy out of retirement to run this thing...oh wait... Bottom line this was expected. I even said it would happen. Ralph would go the cheapest/ safest route and you guys would fight like hell to validate the move. I have yet to see anything, anywhere, that says Nix actually ran the Chargers Drafts. Nothing saying he had final say on draft picks. I have read he is a damn good scout esp in the SEC. Its like this, most of the lemmings on the message boards that lap up everything Ralph throws to them are kinda like flies. They move from one pile of crap to another and another all the time thinking the next pile is better than the last. The problem is....its still nothing but crap.

Are you sure it was him that was the top guy for SD or was it AJ Smith? I am still awaiting proof of how much Nix really did for SD. Yeah he is an SEC Scout, so what? That doesn't make you GM material
