  1. No I'm not. For one thing, I said "about" the same size. OKC is 44th largest metro area, Tulsa is 53rd. Buffalo is 50th, and Rochester is 51st. See for yourself before you get a major case of redass over this:

    http://en.wikipedia....atistical_Areas

My point is that the Bills are in real danger of leaving for LA or Toronto after RW dies, but not for small markets like OKC.

They are not going to LA, they are not going to Toronto, they are not moving.

  2. Um...no, actually. OKC is about the same population size as Buffalo, believe it or not. No one is going to buy the franchise plus deal with the relocation fee plus deal with building a new stadium just for frigging Oklahoma City. The Jacksonville disaster proved that there is a limit to the NFL's success in smaller markets. The only cities that pose a danger to the Bills moving are LA and Toronto.

Uh no you are wrong across the board. OKC is Bigger than Tulsa which is Bigger than Buffalo.

  3. Here is how all of the Bills 1st round picks faired today

2004, Evans: 0 catches 0 yards - was he even on the field?

    2005, None

2006, Whitner: 2 assisted tackles. No picks, pass break ups, or big hits. talk about average.

2006, McCargo: I dont think he was on the field once.

2007, Lynch: 17 carries for 64 yards. Played very well behind a nothing OL.

2008, MCkelvin: Slowly becoming our top CB

2009, Maybin: Horrible in every sense of the word. Played maybe 10 snaps

2009, Wood: Starting G who has struggled more than expected in the last 2 games

2010, Spiller: 1 carry for 3 yards, 4 catches for 23 yards. Looked very average, was 3rd on the depth chart today.

    - Now someone try and tell me we dont have serious issue in our scouting department. This one game was a microcosm of how all these players have faired in their careers. Any ESPN idiot could draft better than this. Many a poster on this board could have out drafted the Bills with these picks. Truely embarassing that an NFL Franchise could even remotely draft this bad.

Well lets see, the guy doing most of the scouting during those picks is Modrak. Who brought him in? Tom Donahoe. Who hired Donahoe? Ralph Wilson. Who kept Modrak here after TD was gone? Ralph Wilson. Anyone getting the theme here?

  4. They allowed Cleveland to move and their fan base is just as good as the Bills. Keep living in your fantasy world that the fans mean anything to the NFL. All we are is a check card to them. Find anohter city with the ability to buy more PSL's and luxury boxes and the team is gone. It will suck but it is hopeless....

and the hysteria you and many fans like you have is why the Bills suck. Ralph knows he has you BS'ed into beliving that. The Bills are one of the most profitable teams in the NFL, the NFL from a MONEY standpoint is NOT going to lose that guanteed money esp when a new owner can charge more ticket wise and the fanbase will pay it = more money for the NFL.

You mean like when the NFL stepped in and prevented the Browns from leaving Cleveland? Come on, Ice, you know better. The only things keeping the Bills from moving after Ralph's death are Ralph and the economy. If there is an ownership group willing to pay for a new stadium in LA or Toronto, the Buffalo Bills are gone.

    Not happening.

  5. When RW is gone so are the Bills...

Can you and the fans that believe that put up some actual fact to support your hysteria? Here are some FACTS saying different. First, it will take a place for them to move. LA is NOT viable no matter how much the NFL wants it. They have never supported a team and right now there is no where else. Next a new owner will need 3 years to get a move going in this day and time. Next the NFL and the owners must OK it. No way in hell they do that. This fanbase will pay more in ticket prices to support the team. This fanbase in this horrible economy is one of the best when it comes to consistantly filling seats, something most other teams can't do as well (The SD game is blacked out in their area today BTW).

With a new owner he will have to sit here for at least 3-5 years and prove to the league the team isnt viable before he is allowed to move it and then must have a place to move them to. BTW wasn't the Bills something like 8th in Net profit last year or something like it? This team isn't moving.

  6. These 10 years of futility (2001-2010) are nothing compared to the 20 years (1967-1986) that some of the older Bills fans had to endure. The one common denominator in this has been Ralph Wilson, perhaps the worst owner in American pro sports history if it weren't for Lou Saban and Bill Polian. His ultimate legacy won't be that of a cheap and incompetent owner, however; it will be his refusal to secure the future of the Bills in Buffalo.

It will be all of the above. I think the NFL steps in and has something to say about moving.

  7. I like how they are so dismissive of the Bills.

I hope it reflects the mood of the team as they are falling into an over confidence trap.

They act as if Pack are defending champs and made several offseason upgrades.

Fact is they've done nothing ... didn't even make conference finals last year.

They made one attempt to improve their poor line and he got lit up last week.

They also lost their only legit every down back for the season.

For a team that gave up a league worst 52 sacks last season, I'd say that's a problem.

Joe, after watching the ass kicking handed to us, you ready to concede yet that the media is right and the Bills suck?

  8. I posted a very detailed post on this once but the facts are there for anyone that wants to go see them for themselfs. This team has sucked from the very begining with Ralph as owner and still suckes today. Outside of the Polian Era this team has sucked. Sucked before, has sucked since Polian had the reigns.

Ralph has always thought personnel and coaching guys are a dime a dozen, uh no. The 100% correct Reality is this team will suck until Ralph dies. I say dies because the man refuses to sell while alive, his Ego won't let him. Now some hysterical fans will say some things like 'This is only a sport how can you wish such things'. Well I will address that in a moment (*). Others will say 'but a knew owner doesn't guarantee anything'. Well sure it does, it guantees they won't do much worse. 'But the team will move without Ralph'. No it won't. Too many want to keep it here. Also with this economy, name another fanbase that sells out as much as the Bills fans do? The NFL and a new owner will NOT let go of guaranteed money like the Bills fanbase generates. Now will they increase ticket prices some, yes they will have to in order to be competitive. But you know what? Hire a known good GM, a Known Good HC, draft well, overpay for a couple stud FA's and you can charge a ton more with this dedicated fanbase.

(*) now for my earlier statement, I am a Bills fan, not a Ralph Wilson Fan. Met him a few times, don't like him. I HATE how he screws over the good fans of the Buffalo Bills. Some people will say 'Ralph wilson is the bills' BULL ****! NO OWNER is the org. the FANS are the team! Always have been, always will be.

The first time I got to actually come to Buffalo was with my wife on our annaversery in 1993. Jerry Crafts was playing for the Bills and I spent a couple nights up in the VIP room in Jim Kellys Club. I hung with guys like crafts, Ollie Barnett, Thurman etal at Big Tree that weekend and was in the Locker room for family day on Saturday. But the thing that has always stuck with me more than anything were the fans. As you know I am a Huge OU fan so I go to alot of games, Buffalo is just like a college town. My wife and I like to stay in Hamburg because of how close it was to the stadium and how easy it was to get into Buffalo from there. Every where I looked there was a Bills jersey, sweatshirt, something. Everywhere I ate all I heard was Bills Bills Bills. Tailgaiting, it was like ' Hey guys want a dog'? 'Want a Beer or a Burger, come join us'.

When we got to our seats we had a couple of tickets that used to belong to season ticket holders so the guys near us were like 'who are you'? When we told them we drove 16 hours one way from Tulsa they went nuts! We didn't pay for a drink, food, beer nothing the rest of the Game lol :-)

My point is this, YES there isn't much to do in Buffalo, Sure the economy isn't great, but in all my travels across America, in Canada etal I can say in all honesty I have NEVER met a better group of people than Buffalonians and WNY. THEY deserve much much better from the ownership of this team that THEY love, that THEY support. To them it is NOT JUST FOOTBALL! This isn't 'just a friggin team'. It is part of their heratige, it is part of their LIVES! And all Bills fans, but esp those right there deserve much better.

So yes I say, the sooner he is gone, the better.

Sorry for the Mis spells, I am pretty fired up right now :-)

    God Bless

  9. Spiller is not an every down back. You cannot compare CJ Spiller to the likes of Ryan Matthews, Jamal Lewis, Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, Adrian Peterson and Darren McFadden. Those are every down backs who can punish tacklers. Spiller cannot do that...he is more in the mold of Reggie Bush, who I think he'll resemble the most...which doesnt say much.

Lynch SHOULD BE the starter on this team. He would be a Top-10 RB in the NFL if he were given some carries once in a while...and dont talk about him dancing too much, did you see Spiller last week auditioning for Dancing With The Stars???

Jahvid Best will probably end up being on par with, or better than...CJ Spiller.

No Marshawn would NOT be a top 10 back in this league. He was over hyped coming out of college and it has been proven here in teh NFL. Jackson had no issues with the OL last year getting most of the playing time. Stop making excuses for the punk. As for as Spiller, YES he is an every down back, if not you don't pick a specialty player with a top 10 pick or you should be fired.

Give the kid 25 carries or more a game, get him in the passing game. If not, then we screwed the draft up again.

  10. Did anyone else pick up on Nix's MMQB Club question and answer session when he was asked about comparing McNabb's vettern performance in the win vesus Edwards' skitish performmance in our loss? His answer started out with something about McNabb's completion percentage (being less than or right about 50%) and said that those stats won't win you many games. Then went on to say, "I'm not a Donovan McNabb guy." He then backtracks to talk about how McNabb is a professional and has done it for a while.

I thought it was interesting that he said he wasn't a fan of McNabb, given all of the talk about trading for him in the offseason and how we were supposed to be after him. I wonder if that was true. I wonder if Nix thinks McNabb is past his expiration date so to speak.

He is still pissed that McNabb told the Eagles there is no way he would accept a trade to Buffalo

  11. It was nice to catch up with him, its been a couple years since we talked. He made it up to camp for the first time in about 8 years this year. Took his boys, really likes the Rochester camp, but says Fredonia had its advantages as well. the players were really good about signing stuff and taking picks with his kids he really appreciated them.

I asked if he was there when Chan got into those kids butts and he said no, but he believes it was the same ones that were there doing their act the day he was there.

He says he likes Gailey as a coach, really likes Nix as a GM and thinks if the fans give them time can turn it around. I asked about the OL and he says he really likes the interior but it still needs some work overall. He thinks Spiller has a chance to be something really special in this league.

Nothing earth shaking but nice to get his 2 cents.
