  1. Exactly. Ray Rice kind of came from nowhere this year to be completely dominant. Brian Leonard should be judged on 4 years of football at Rutgers, where he has done some truly amazing things...Not too often you see a FB being a school's all time leading receiver.
  2. If you want to use a third on him it would have to be in a trade...cause I would bet the house that Leonard is gone by the end of the 2nd.
  3. Thats the thing though...Hunt is primarily a power back, and if he breaks a big run like you say, he does slow down along the way...I watch him every saturday...He is not getting away from too many NFL DBs... That said, I do like Hunt a lot...And if the Bills are looking to run a RBBC system, he would be a great fit...I am not totally sold on him being a franchise feature back yet.
  4. A good signing for the Jets...He will be a nice veteran 3rd QB to help Penny work with Clemens a bit... I always liked Tui, if he could ever stay healthy. He had a couple of good games at the helm in Oakland.
  5. Yeah, this won't happen. No reason to get Michael Turner and bury him on a depth chart.
  6. You put LT in Buffalo and he does not score 30 touchdowns last year. He is a great back, but he is being pushed to elite level by that offensive line, and that is ok, because it is something that all but a handful of great backs have done in their careers. The NFL is littered with backup running backs that look great in the system they are in. Why does Michael Turner look so great right now? Because he is on a top 3 team with a top 3 O-Line. It is easy for Turner to get good runs in that system. If I am running an opposing defense, and you have been getting rolled by LT all day long, and finally he comes out of the game for a few plays for a breather, these are the few plays that I take chances on. These are the plays that I send blitzes designed to get to Rivers and cause a turnover. These are also the plays where I will take the chance of being burned by a backup running back because I know their explosive player is not on the field. Don't get me wrong...He is a good back. He will get paid somewhere, this year or next, and make some team happy...But with all the holes on this team, I would rather take my chances on someone in the draft and keep my picks to make this team better.
  7. MICHAEL TURNER RUNS BEHIND A TOP 3 O-LINE IN THE NFL. For the life of me, I will never understand how people forget this FACT when they bring up Turner. For a third rounder, yes. For a low 2nd, take a hike.
  8. The writing is on the wall... I would bet a good amount of money that Cleveland swaps 1st round picks and gives up something later for David Carr, allowing Houston to draft Peterson.
  9. I don't see how anyone can say that LB and RB are not pressing needs on this team. Every LB on this team is average or old(spikes). And we don't have a RB that makes any defense worry. If they don't get a running back that teams have to look to shut down, this will be another long season. I'm sorry, but A-Train does not scare me one bit. They can double Evans all day long and still take A-Train out of the game.
  10. If you were going to put anyone at RB from the defense, It would have to be Coy Wire...At least he set some HS rushing records, and played RB in college...
  11. Turner is a good RB, and has the potential to be a 1300-1500 yard per year back...But there are some things to consider when thinking of the offer sheet... A first and third is an awfully steep price for someone who may or may not pan out. Being a Jets fan also, I can tell you that I thought LaMont Jordan would be a monster in Oakland after he left. He was a superb runner, and had that 2nd level he kicked it into. But he went from a team with a great veteran O-Line to a team with an inexperienced not so good O-Line. He has done nothing. Same situation with Turner...He looks great right now. He is backing up the leagues best RB in Tomlinson (Like Jordan did with Martin), and he is running behind an O-line that is top 3 in the league, and makes a strong argument for THE BEST o-line in the NFL. If he comes to Buffalo, he will be on a young team with an improving, but not yet proven, offensive line. I know the aquisitions we got at Guard and Tackle are supposed to be great, and they will help, but our line is not San Diego's. You would get the same production out of Michael Turner in Buffalo that you would out of a Michael Bush or a Marshawn Lynch. Keep the draft picks. We can fill our other holes with better position players and look at a Bush or Hunt or Irons in the middle rounds.
  12. This is true. Also, coming from a Syracuse fan that has to watch Penn State because of where I live (It's the only thing on), Poz did not look good this year. The ONLY way I would take Poz is to have him on the outside...He looked like Jon Vilma this year, just completely lost. Sure, he ended up with a boatload of tackles, but how many of them were 5 yards downfield.
  13. I would like to find a place that would replace my McGahee authentic nameplate with whomever else takes #21.... of course, after I spend the money on that, they will change their jersey style...
  14. Whoops...thought by the title this was going to be a Tom Brady thread.
  15. Yup...I have an authentic...anyone know where I could get another nameplate done?
  16. I don't know...I am starting to get the feeling that McGahee might "Tom Barrasso" the Bills by looking like crap so he gets traded, and goes on to be a star somewhere else.
  17. He was a backup end in Dallas. Still had a more productive year than Marcus Spears, even in a backup role. Young with a lot of potential.
  18. Nice signing to help a porous 3-4 run defense.
  19. The picks themselves work out in Chicago's favor on the value chart...It would just be a matter of how much they would want McGahee.
  20. GREAT MOVE. The Jets just got Thomas Jones for nothing other than moving down 20 spots. Best move of FA so far.
  21. I think the Giants will sign Rhodes...Word is that the talks are heating up between the two. If Willis doesn't go to Oakland or Baltimore, I believe he will be a Bill again next year. Cause Buffalo sure as hell ain't trading him to the other team that needs a running back in our division.
  22. I can understand that. However, McCargo was hurt for the majority of the year...We drafted this guy in the first round, and are paying him 1st round money...Shouldn't we give him a chance to show us what he can do before we jump off the ship?
