  1. The combo of the musty, moldy air at your place, and the stench of the Bills, is enough to kill a normal man. Kudos to you for still being here to post!
  2. Nice one. I was going to go with: "Sounds like Rob Ryan was looking to go big with a T.O. insult, but after taking a quick look at it, he checked-down to a Trent Edwards jab." But, I like yours better.
  3. I have been a Bills fan my whole life, passed down from Mom and Dad, who were season ticket holders for almost 20 years before we moved...Somewhere in the mid to late 80's as as 6 or 7 year old, I started developing a fascination with the Jets, and I started liking both teams. It really had more to do with being a Ken O'Brien/Al Toon fan than anything else, but it stuck with me for a long time...Then, 2 years ago, on Monday Night Football, I completely fell back in love with Buffalo. Even though we lost the game, I haven't followed the Jets at all since that night. I sold or donated every piece of Jets memorabilia that I had, with the exception of a game worn Kenny O jersey...I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of that. It has gone as far now as disliking the Jets as much, if not more than I dislike the Fins or the Pats. I have never seen an NFL game anywhere else but Buffalo. I bought season tickets last year, and was there for the Oakland, San Diego and Cleveland games. I sat with great people, and it is an atmosphere and family type feeling that you can't get anywhere else.
  4. Take it from us, man...celebrating at this point of the season is 100% meaningless. At 5-1 last year, we were on top of the world, and being touted on every sports talk radio, television and internet media outlet as being a lock for the wild card and being the next big thing...I can still remember being excited listening to the likes of Cowherd, Rome, Czaban and company, the PTI group, etc. all talk about how much they were enamored with the 5-1 Bills. Yep...7-9. Again. Bills 30 Saints 27
  5. Yep, I have to agree with the majority here...Going away from the no huddle is playing right into their hands. They just have to slow it down a little more. Even if you run the play clock down, you are still running the same no huddle...You can line up at the line of scrimmage and call a bunch of fake audibles to keep the defense from subbing players if you have to... Plus, you have to stick with what has been working. The offense has moved very well on both the Pats* and the Bucs, and with NO's defense looking rough, we can most likely do the same thing there. The thing that is going to win this game for Buffalo (aside from winning the TOP battle) is to limit your turnovers. Trent has to be smart with the football, and the ball carriers need to be concious of protecting the football. Look at the Eagles game this last week. That was a really tight 17-13 game at the half. The Eagles come out, fumble the kickoff, throw a pick, and all of a sudden, they are down 3 scores. Playing a smart game on offense, taking time off the clock and creating a turnover or two on defense will win this game for Buffalo. If they can't do that, it will be more than a long day...It will be a nightmare.
  6. Yep, this one next week has the makings of an ugly, ugly game...Could be a shootout, could be a blowout. I really don't see any situation where it is a really close game though... The ONLY chance you have against N.O. is to hold on to the football and play ball control offense. But at the end of your 12 or 13 play drives, you have to put the ball in the end zone. The less Brees and Co. are on the field, the less damage they can do.
  7. My biggest worry is, especially with NO coming to town next week, we have the 8th ranked rushing D, and the 32nd ranked passing D....by yardage, of course. But, if we can keep the points off the board, they can rack up 1000 passing yards for all I care.
  8. Only thing I disagree with is your comment on Bell. I thought he played well today, and took far less penalties than last week. Give it time. Trent was only sacked once today, and last week 2 of his 5 sacks came at the end when he was running for his life... He didn't make any game-changing mistakes today, which is really all you can ask from him. With more playing time, he is only going to get better.
  9. My Dad and I made the exact same comment after that happened. They ran it the exact same way, including the gigantic overthrow.
  10. Yep, nice breakout game for him today. Now he just has to keep it up. He has a daunting task in front of him for next week.
  11. Jets D looked very tough...very tough...They really had Brady off today, and that's good because it sure wasn't their offense that won the game for them. I have to think that a healthy Welker makes the difference in that game though. Edelman had a nice game, but he's not the player Welker is. But hey, for the Bills' sake, we needed a Jets win. Now we just have to keep taking care of business.
  12. Agreed, the difference this year, is that I'm not so sure that they have the horses around him to keep him going all year long. I think as Brady enters this stage of his career, they have to solidify the RB position and commit to it. If they can do that, I think he can still be a greatly effective QB for a long time...But if he has to throw 60 times a game for the next 5-7 years of his career, It's not going to be good for them.
  13. indeed...once they start losing games because of Brady, then I'll celebrate.
  14. Just like last week...Brady is just barely missing his targets...definitely costing them points.
  15. I don't mind the 4pm games so much...Usually the more interesting games are on at 1pm, and I get stuck watching a Skins/Seahawks or a Niners/Rams matchup at 4pm because nothing good is on. When the Bills are on at 4, it gives me an extra incentive to watch the 4pm games
  16. **sigh**...................come on, Sunday. Do you really think that even if it was 3rd and 1 that we would have stopped anything on that drive? I know that it is the principle, but let's be realistic. Our D was gassed and was in no position to stop anything on those last two drives. After tomorrow, we won't have to talk about this game anymore. We'll have a whole new set of problems to complain about.
  17. The Bills and the Jets are a combined 3-23 against the Pats* since 2003, including the Jets/Pats* playoff meeting a couple years back... There has been a lot of talking over the last few years between both teams, and almost always, it turns out that the Pats* come up with a win. As much as I would like to see the Pats* lose this weekend, and look horrible doing it, it just doesn't add up for me...I don't think it will be a blowout, but I think that Brady and co. make it 3-24 tomorrow.
  18. How do you know Leodis is dumb? Here's a clue...he returned the kick out of the end zone with 10 WRs and CBs on the field... These guys have been playing football for a long time, and when your Hands team is on the field, with really noone that can block for you, it's plain as day that you should either take a knee, or get down as soon as possible....
  19. wow...I figured as much...the way he acted after that play, it was almost like he knew exactly what had happened.
  20. But that's the problem...they never had a shot to even get in that position. If it happens, it happens. If Brady goes 70 yards to beat you with no timeouts under two minutes, then so be it. You lose to the best QB in the game. But instead, they gave Brady a 30 yard field to score a TD with 2 mins left. And against teams like NE, you can't do that...Against anyone you can't do that. Whatever happens, you HAVE to make NE beat you by a long drive.
  21. QFT. I am really torn on this, but I really think that the blame for it falls on McKelvin. It was the right play to bring it out, get it to the 2 min warning. But fall as soon as you get hit. And he got hit, and was still up...Instead of sticking to the gameplan, and letting your offense that has moved the ball every time that they had it win the game, you try to make something out of absolutely nothing and lose the game.
  22. Yeah, that's kinda what I thought...That is just a heartbreaker... If he returns the kick, falls down, and we go 3 and out, and then Brady goes 60-70 yards with 1 or less timeouts and beats us, then so be it. I can deal with that. In that case, we just lose to a better team. But we had them, and we just gave it away....Without even a struggle...we just let it go.
  23. I don't know the rules on this but, I'm gonna throw it out there...If the clock starts as soon as McKelvin touches the ball, couldn't he just run around in the end zone for 6 seconds to run off clock? Or does he actually have to return the ball out of the end zone for the clock to start?
  24. Running past the quarterback by 10 yards...like he has all night.
  25. Not a good showing for the PSU running game today. I was at the game in Happy Valley today, and the Syracuse defense really locked down the running game. I thought they played better pass defense when they were playing press coverage, but they stuck with the 10 yard cushion for most of the game...Even still, defensively, 'Cuse looked very good. Defensively for PSU, I saw some holes I didn't think would be there...The stats will never show it, and you can attribute it to knowing that Paulus won't throw down the field, but Mike Williams was one-on-one and wide open at least 3 times today, and he never even looked at him...
