Favorite Christmas Present?
ThePebble19 replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nintendo DS with Animal Crossing: Wild World and Mario Kart DS...I can't believe something that looks like it was made for a 10 year old can be so addicting and fun. Ooh...and a pair of Mechanix Cold Weather gloves...the regular ones don't keep your hands warm on the cold PA nights. -
For those who have an interest:

the jets really don't need new orleans to win, as long as Houston and Green Bay win (providing the Jets lose to Buffalo.) That would give the jets the #2 spot, and there isn't a chance that New Orleans will draft Bush....I guarantee they go QB. -
Yup...here is the scenario...The tiebreaker of evenly matched teams is strength of schedule. Weaker schedule gets the higher pick. Sooooo..... If Houston Wins, and Buffalo beats the Jets, these are the possible scenarios that would affect seeing Reggie Bush in our division. If New Orleans and Green Bay Win: 1. Jets 2.Houston 3.San Francisco 4: Teams tied at 4-11 ------- If New Orleans Loses and Green Bay wins: 1. New Orleans 2. Jets 3. Texans 4. 49ers 5. Teams tied at 4-11 ------- If Houston wins and NYJ, GB, and NO all lose, here is the order: 1. New Orleans 2. Green Bay 3. New York Jets 4. Houston 5. San Francisco

SOS! What is a fan to do?!

If you saw the ESPN story they did on his off the field stuff earlier this year, you would know that Keyshawn is very active in the community, and does a lot of things there. -
Parrish's end of game Punt Return
ThePebble19 replied to ThePebble19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
could be...I only caught the last part after he got away from the tackler. -
Was I the only one that was a little surprised with Parrish's speed on the punt return at the end of the game? I thought he was a lot faster than that, and he looked like he had been running a mile by the time he got to that sideline....the way he turned the catch around, and turned it upfield, I thought he had a chance to go...

Daryle Lamonica...that's just my two cents, just because he is my dad's favorite player from those days, and he still curses the day Buffalo sent him down the road.

Looks like Pennington is done for
ThePebble19 replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chad Pennington was a class player in the NFL. If any of you remember seeing the piece on him done two years ago on CBS, you will know that he lives in a relatively nice house, but not lavish. He still owns the same car he had in high school. He is very smart, and had a great eye for details when watching film. He is a great field general. If this injury is indeed career threatening, I believe he will make a great NFL coordinator or coach some day. Good luck to him in his recovery. -
Watched the whole game...dissapointing for a Jets fan, but the only good thing I can say about the defense is that without the first quarter, the Jets only lost the game 10-7. Their offense was just pathetic, with the amount of fumbles by Pennington. However, I can say that KC looks for real. LJ and PH were just tearing it up. Having the both of them running like that opens up their passing game huge...they could make some big noise this year. A nice win by Buffalo today too...really thought the Texans would give them a tougher game, but Buffalo handled them really well. That defense looks really strong this year.

Indeed. Miami sucks!
-
Thanks again for the advice...Although, we just found out today that because of scheduling problems and things with her classes, we won't be able to get to the Jets game, however will have to go the week before and catch the Miami game. Thanks a lot everyone!

Thanks for the responses everyone...Like I said, been there for many a Jets game all dressed in Jets gear, and never had a problem, but I was always with a member of my family who was a Bills fan...I can take the jabs and comments and stuff like that, cause I have a good sense of humor...and since I am built like that skinny kid from "Road Trip", I usually stay quiet as to not get me in fights that I will surely lose... I don't really remember how the Jets thing started though...I just used to like watching Ken O'Brien play...still my favorite Jet of all time...even if he did spend half of his career laying under Bruce Smith!

Hi there... I am originally from Buffalo, but am a big Jets fan (I also follow the Bills a lot, since I am from there)...I am in the process of planning my annual trip to Buffalo to visit relatives and such and was trying to plan it around the October 16 game with the Jets. I have worn my Jets apparel into the Ralph for numerous Jets games before and never had a problem, but I was always there with a bunch of my family who are Bills fans. I am going up to Buffalo this time with my fiancee and she wants to go to the Jets game, since she is a Jets fan as well. This is her first NFL game, and I really wouldn't like it if her first game was scarred by having beer tossed at her or something...We can take most of the fan competitiveness and trash talk, but really don't want a physical altercation... I am 23, she 19, and have to drive back to PA right after the game, so I won't be drinking much, if at all... Do you guys think it's a good idea to come to this game to see our team play, or should I try to plan it around a neutral weekend where we can wear Bills stuff and not have to worry at all? Thanks...

Jets paid a lot for Ty Law
ThePebble19 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is a good signing for the Jets...Although, they gave up some depth by having to drop Mickens for him. He may not be back to his old form, but Law certainly would be a better starting corner than Pete Hunter. As far as watching any one on one matchups on Law, I don't think there will be a whole lot of them. The Jets like to play a ton of zone defense in the secondary, which helps out. I am looking forward to the matchup between the Bills and Jets twice this year, because I think they are going to be good hard fought defensive battles. -
Actually, his natural position is Running Back...He was a RB in High School and the first two years of college before they switched him to LB...but its kind of a moot point. I like Coy a lot, I think he is a great athlete, and a good football player, not to mention a hell of a guy away from the game, 1 on 1. But, I also agree with most everything that has been posted here. He has been a Bill for 3 years, going on 4 years and has not improved. He still continues to make key mistakes at the wrong times, and at this point, I just don't see him getting off of special teams.
-
Good to see that he is bulking up...I like him, maybe I'm just biased because I saw him play High School ball down here, and he's from the same town that I lived in since we moved here from Buffalo, but I think he's a tough kid...great locker room guy to say the least.
-
I like Tory Woodbury a lot...I am really torn this year because I have been a lifelong Jets and Bills fan, somehow...and usually one or the other has a bad season, but it appears to be a dogfight this year. But about Woodbury, I always liked him when the Jets had him 3 or 4 years ago. He is a great special teams player and a valuable asset as a 3rd QB or reserve QB / WR.

Cool. Thanks a lot. Wish I could be up there to see some of Bills training camp...So, to feed my training camp fix, I am going to take the 2 hour trip eastward to check out...::shudders::...Eagles camp on Saturday...gosh I hate PA teams...maybe I'll get to throw some ice at T.O. or something.

Was talking to a friend at work here in PA, right outside of where Coy grew up and went to high school, and he said that he talked to Coy last week and he mentioned that he and his father are doing some charity work now because Coy got cut...is this true, or is my friend just misinformed?? I personally like Coy Wire...I think he should be bulking up a little more and playing linebacker, cause he can't cover my grandma, but I like him as a run stuffer...

Hersheypark is very nice...have lived outside of hershey for the last 15 years, and have been there at least once a year since then. Lots of coasters, and other fun rides for everyone...I'm going there twice next month, looking forward to it... I haven't been to Darien Lake in about 7 years, but it was pretty fun for me when I was there last...I was 15 7 years ago, so it should be fun for the kids.
-
...Just wait...TD knows exactly what he is doing...every year there is at least one big name back that goes down in training camp or preseason, and then there will be teams in the market for a starting back...I think they will get the draft pick they are looking for if they wait until the right time.

I don't really see this happening, because I think that JP has proved in the offseason that he is ready to take control of this team, but what happens if he goes out there and just blows...I mean what if he just tanks, maybe starts the season with a few losses...do you put in the reliable backup of Kelly Holcomb and try to make something of the season and make a playoff run, or do you stick with the kid and hope he can turn it around?
