  1. That's unfortunate...Great guy, and a great player...He is one of those 'Curtis Martin' types where some think he's overrated and some thinks he's underrated...but he gets the job done when he's on the field.
  2. And as I recall, we don't seem to have to good of luck against him either... With our offensive line, I would be afraid of me on the other side...and I only go 5'11", 150.
  3. This is rediculous...Some people need to separate his playing career with his personal life.... As a person, he can rot in hell for all I care. As a player, he is one of the most gifted RB's ever to put on a uniform, and he deserves every bit of his name on that wall of fame. There should be no removing it, and there should be no other Bill to wear the number 32. Ever.
  4. Yeah...I'm not real confident about Jamal Williams and Shawne Merriman against our O-Line...bad things, man...bad things.
  5. No, they wont...They have already worn their throwbacks for 2 games this year...they will be in regular old crappy navy blue.
  6. Wow. You have to take them one at a time... But even still...I'll break them down for you: SD: Top 3 in the league, with the best player in the league going up against one of the worst run D's.... Jets - In NY, and this team that Buffalo "Dominated" in the first game is not the same team. Defense has been on fire the last 3 weeks, and will be a test to the Bills resurgent offense. Miami - Playing just as good as Buffalo or the Jets right now, but see no reason that Buffalo couldn't knock them off, since it's in BUF. Tennessee - Be afraid of teams that have absolutely nothing to play for...IF, IF Buffalo is in the playoff hunt, this will be an interesting game. Yeah, the Bills could win all 4 games....But they could also lose all 4, too. Worry about SD, and then think about the rest of the season.
  7. To the original poster, Let's face the facts here...The Chargers are are one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the NFL this year, going up against us who has played average at best all year long. Sure, we are on a little streak, but it's two wins against the worst D in the league, and a team that is monumentally bad on the road. I'm not taking anything away from the JAX win, cause it was great, and was a definite morale booster, but SD is leagues ahead of Jacksonville.
  8. Great stuff...I was almost in tears from laughing so hard.
  9. Do you think Vick and Bryan Cox had drinks together after the game?
  10. Speaking of Burger King creepy, I purchased "Sneak King" for the Xbox 360 at BK with my Whopper the other day...It happens to be the worst video game ever made.
  11. he wasn't really in the grasp...it was more of a grab, and push after Kiwi thought that he let go of the ball...
  12. Yeah, I saw it too...When the flag came in at the end of that play, I said to my father that it was coming back for holding, and he was like "no way?!" I rewinded the Tivo after they announced the excessive celebration penalty and we were both like "ooohh..." It was as much of a facemask as it was a hold, but hey, we'll take the points where we can get them, legal or not.
  13. I have been very harsh on JP in the past, but these last two games, he is really turning it on. He is playing consistant, stepping up in the pocket, and making really good decisions with the football. He didn't have much in the way of yardage today, but he managed the game well, and put that last pass where only Parrish could get it, and he made a SUPERB grab. If he can play like this, this offense can be very effective against anyone. However, what I don't like is how it seems when one side of the ball starts playing well, the other side starts slacking. There was no way that Jax. should have been able to drive to the end zone on that last drive. The defense has to find some way to stop the run... This is a young team, and they should be proud of this great win. If they play like this week after week, there might be playoffs in the future...Maybe not this year, but with a good draft, they could be there next year.
  14. I hope so with the running part... We already see that passing Losman a couple times a game...If I never have to see him just wing a pass off of his back foot again, it would be great.
  15. To question the talent is one thing, but this Jets team is much better than Buffalo in a lot of ways, most important of which is the number in the win column. Remaining Schedule: CHI HOU @GB BUF @MIN @MIA OAK There are 4-5 more wins out there in that schedule. Whether the Jets make the playoffs this year or not, I have had more fun watching them then I have ever had before. They play with passion, and have a sincere team desire to win. Put it this way. At the beginning of the season, the Jets and Bills were in the same boat. Both were horrible last year, and both had similar holes and question marks on their team. One team is 5-4 (and 3-1 in their division) and the other is 3-6 (and 1-3 in their division). It has been 10 weeks since the season started, and this team has distanced itself from last year in a HUGE way, while Buffalo has yet to take that step forward. There is no reason to think that this team can't overtake NE in the division this year. They are one game apart, and have the same exact division records.
  16. I've watched EVERY Jets game, since I am a Jets fan...And yes, you are correct, the coaching has a TON to do with their success. Here is what I am getting out of the Jets season so far: - They are smart on offense and only getting better every week. Their running game is coming along now that they have found the "Thunder and Lightning", if you will, in Barlow and Washington. - They are getting production from all but 1 guy from their draft this last year. Ferguson has played great, and Mangold has played like a Pro Bowl vet. Leon Washington has been the biggest surprise and has sparked a running game that was non-existant for most of the first half of the year. - It doesn't hurt when you have a KR man that is putting you, at average, your own 35-40 yard line EVERY TIME. - The defense has had a new identity in the last 5 quarters. Starting at the end of the Browns game, the defense has shown a ton of different looks and has seemed to confuse both Frye and Brady. This team is a scary team, because they are so young, and have so much talent on both sides of the ball. They need a real big NT for their 3-4, and could really use an every down RB, but they have been really solid this year. Not to mention that their coach and front office is one of the smartest in the league. The "Tangini" duo have come up with a system, and the team is buying into it. The even scarier part is, the Jets are 1 really, really, really bad call away from being tied with NE for the division lead (I am referring to the Chris Baker TD in the closing seconds of the Cleveland game. Baker made the catch at least 1 yard inside the pyon, and was pushed out in the air. The play was ruled no catch, out of bounds, and since it was a judgement call, thus non-reviewable.) If the Jets play like they did against NE against Chicago at home this week, they have a great shot to win that game. Chances are, they will lose, but I see them gaining a LOT of respect in this game.
  17. This is just the thing. You can't force a guy into being a pocket passer. Look at Vick. Once ATL let Vick do his thing, he has played really well in some games this year. Overall, he is better than last year. Let him do what is comfortable to him, it will work out best for everyone in the end.
  18. I like this post. And the gameplan they had today was the right one...D and special teams played well enough to win. The offense did about 98% of their job today...Thomas more than effectively ran the ball, and they didn't turn the ball over. It is that 2% that they didn't do that lost them the game...You can play conservatively all game, but when you have a good team on the ropes, and you are controlling the game like Buffalo did to Indy today, you have to go for the jugular. Once you have gotten to the 4th quarter, you have to show them something a little different...Give them something unexpected, like the drive at the end of the Jets game when Losman just took off and made the plays... Look at the Jets-Pats game for example...The Jets controlled that game...They came out and ran the ball for over 100 yards with 2 backs and moved the sticks all day. They kept it close, and kept NE out of the end zone. But when it came down to it, it was Pennington opening the game up with his passing at the end that won it for them. They had them on the ropes, went for the jugular, and it paid off. Sometimes it doesn't pay off(see the Jets-Colts game earlier this year), but those are the things you have to do to win these kind of games. Today is not Losman's fault. He's not regressing, but he is not progressing either. Not that all of that is his fault. He doesn't call the plays. Today, this team played not to lose. That is the fact.
  19. No. If JP steps up in the pocket, he can buy a little more time to either throw the football to an open reciever, or take off and run. If he is just dropping back and standing, he hurting himself, because when the rush comes off the outside, he is right there and is getting slammed. If he steps up and uses his legs a little bit, he could make a few more plays.
  20. 24 and have been a huge JP supporter until the last couple of weeks...I constantly argued with my 50 year old Dad about how JP needs a whole year, and I still think he does. It is well apparent that this team is far from a Playoff team at this point. Let him get killed, and hope that he learns from his mistakes. Problem is, that he keeps making the same mistakes. Bad reads, doesn't step up in the pocket enough, and doesn't use his legs enough when the D-Line is closing on him. While this team is not a playoff contender this year, they could be one next year. If JP doesn't show more promise by the end of this year, I say you look to a Vet in the off-season.
  21. I will agree with that...This team takes some stupid penalties.
  22. One play does not a game make...All day long it was 5 steps and stand, 7 steps and stand...I will retract my NEVER for RARELY, since there was obviously a play or two I missed. And things did continue as normal. A-train did no worse than Willis would have done...in fact, I thought he ran harder out there than I see willis do. But, that kind of things happen when you are a backup trying to get a job
  23. You can't blame the O-Line for 90% of the sacks or hurries yesterday. He had plenty of time...Now, I'm not saying that the coverage wasnt good and he should have gotten someone the ball, but you have to step up in the pocket and throw the ball away sometimes. This guy is so frustrating to watch, because he makes you pissed off all game long at how much he is sucking, and then makes 2 or 3 good plays in a row that give you some hope...then it's right back to sucking.
  24. That still doesn't change the fact that he NEVER stepped up in the pocket today and looked Drew Bledsoe-esque...It was great that he got the pass away, but the pass was about 3 yards behind him, and Evans had to wait for it...if there was anyone within 10 yards, it would have been picked off... JP sucks...The Defense won this game, plain and simple.
