  1. He's rocketing up the points leaderboard right now. It's definitely fun. And the crazy part? He's going to be the second best player on the team in a couple years.
  2. She shows up on the tv screens in the trailer as one of the missing people along with Antman and Spiderman, so she might not be around either.
  3. John, you’re comment on bogosian really sticks out to me. He has been something I’ve been wanting to comment on for a while. I’m not one to get superstitious, but at the same time, I can’t convince myself to say a single word about his game. I love watching him out there, but this is the most I dare to say about him.
  4. I never pick up on this stuff, but my god, how much photoshopping did they do on that picture. I’m never going to complain about Emma Stone, but that one is so touched up that it’s not her anymore.
  5. And he's lucky he did. Can you imagine what the MacInnises and Al Iafrates of the world could do if they were using today's sticks?
  6. I would go out and live a long healthy life. So they're an extension of the rink in all situations but this. Interesting. Is it strictly pucks deflected into the net? I've seen plenty of plays where the ref makes a beautiful breakaway pass or centers it out into the slot. One of the many stories from the legend that is Nick Lidstrom.
  7. You need to have more than a plan though. You also need that eye for talent. There was a rationale to Murray's moves after the Eichel draft as well. The problem was that he swung and missed on pretty much every single one outside of maybe the O'Reilly trade. Time will tell when it comes to Botterill, but the job certainly gets much easier when you have a seasoned Jack Eichel and then are given the gift of Dahlin. This is where the real fun begins, building your house on top of a foundation instead of on rubble.
  8. I think the other show was the Scarlet Witch. I'd love it if the Fox deal could be finalized by then so that they could actually say who her dad is.
  9. Have they announced that one? I thought Black Panther had the green light for a sequel before Strange.
  10. That's such a loaded question. I feel like these kind of decisions tend to take care of themselves during a season. We'll be very lucky to have the full group healthy at any given point. The whole Hunwick thing is the one wild card in the whole process though. I assumed he'd be the season long LTIR guy, but now that he's off on his rehab stint, who knows how that changes the depth chart.
  11. Antman came out only a couple months later and he wasn’t in Infinity War at all. So it was all a lot easier there. Trailers for that movie were out long before Infinity War was released, so you didn’t know any of that stuff. Now we’re talking about releasing a trailer for a character who is currently dead. It’s very awkward. Apparently they did release a trailer for it at it at an event in Brazil this weekend. They’re not letting it spread beyond that right now.
  12. The Eichel line gets all the praise, for obvious reasons, but this is basically a two line team right now. Eichel’s does the scoring and Larsson’s gets the shut down minutes. The other two lines are just filler. That’s the exact thing that is going to hold back the team this year unless those six can step up and contribute. That’s really going to have to be the trade target if/when they look to add.
  13. Don’t put much stock in the order they’re listed on the twitter posts. Tonight Larsson’s line was 2nd in total ice time. They rely heavily on the Eichel line and the rest get a fairly even mix. They’re definitely not getting so called fourth line minutes over the season as a whole.
  14. It's a fairly simple trailer since they have to avoid certain stuff due to Captain Marvel coming out first. Still, they threw together a nice little teaser there. Supposedly they will be releasing a new Spiderman trailer soon. Now that's one that should be incredibly tricky for obvious reasons. I guess it's possible that it takes place before Infinity War, but that will feel really strange if you're in a theater watching that after you've already seen Endgame.
  15. But look how many teams stay in the playoff race pretty much right to the end. They will never change this system for that very reason. All that matters is that the fans think their team has a chance, even if that 3-5 point gap is very tough to overcome.
  16. I can imagine that season ticket base fell to ghost town levels with all the Bill Wirtz love that was going around that town.
  17. And let's face it, given the ticket situation up in Toronto, a good portion of the leaf fan at these games are probably buying them up back in October. The hometown fan is going to far more likely to buy them in the short-term, a week or so in advance. Those tickets are already gone long before the Sabre fan would be buying for yesterday's game.
  18. I wonder how much of it is actually the Stub Hubs and Ticketmasters of the world that are selling more of these tickets. All of the leagues are so deeply in bed with these companies at this point that I'd love to see what percentage of season ticket holders are the brokers.
  19. The last 6 goals are from the Eichel line, 8 of the last 9. They need to break out of this immediately. When you play nothing but one goal games and only one line ever scores, you're essentially shooting yourself in the foot.
  20. This thread has inspired me. We have this one spot in the house where we need to put something but have no idea what to get. An old arcade game would fit perfectly. I'm sure I can get the wife to go along with this one.
  21. I don't think it would take something too substantial. It tends to fluctuate from year to year, but you typically see a mid-line guy wind up moving for a 2nd-4th round pick and maybe a crap shoot prospect. I'm paying that price if I can get these young guys some actual playoff experience. Yes, they're not winning this year, but I do think that experience would be incredibly valuable moving forward, especially to wash away the stink of constant losing.
