He's playing well but hasn't scored (last time I checked, Vanek hasn't either). You can fault him for the powerplay all you want, but he's not the only point man who won't shoot the puck. It's been an ongoing trend for years with this team now. They are always trying to setup that back door pass, but aren't able to improvise when it's not there. I also noticed that Connolly was on the ice for one of the penalty kills last night (2nd period, if I remember correctly). I think that says it all about what Ruff thinks of him.

Half of my 8th grade class got a few days detention for picking on the teacher's car. I don't even remember what we called it, but this guy hated us so much. He'd go after us for anything.

If they were going to trade Biron, he'd be the one in the press box each game instead of Mika. If you're going to keep a guy, you don't completely piss him off like they've done with Noronen.

I'm wondering if anyone knows the answer to this. If a player is still in the penalty box at the end of overtime, does that keep him out of the shootout? It really didn't matter in this game, but what if St Louis took his penalty with less than 2 minutes left?

That's what I get for looking at his stats the day after reading your post. Anyway, I still think it should make for an interesting situation. Both teams will probably want their guy playing. Just looking at the numbers Leighton put up last year (very impressive stats), he has to start most of the games.

I was thinking the same thing about third jerseys, but then there's that ugly Atlanta 3rd jersey. I've never paid too much attention to their regular jerseys. Is that blue actually in them? The Anahiem 3rd jersey is another one where the color doesn't seem right. edit: The blue is in the Atlanta jerseys. It's about as sublte as the red eye in the old sabres jerseys. As for Anahiem, I don't see how that jersey fits into their color scheme.
