  1. Winning percentage is total points/possible points. So for the winning percentage, an OTL counts as 0.5. If a team has more wins than regulation losses, they're above .500.
  2. 4:19. I started in the northeast and worked my way over, but somehow missed New Jersey.
  3. Yeah, but how long ago was that? I'm sure every new machine since then could accept the dollar coins.
  4. Weren't they when the last one came out?
  5. We've got enough idiots in this country. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have the same president appearing on more than one coin. As for it possibly catching on. If they really want it to, eliminate the single and force people to accept it.
  6. And then there's the fact that if you pick a team to be a surprise and then they follow through, it's not really a surprise, is it?
  7. It said only one player didn't listen to what the coach. Do you really need to ask that question?
  8. Because it was under the BU bridge. That kind of idiotic placement is exactly why these guys are in trouble.
  9. Another media thing that really bugs me. One of the sources reporting all of this, CNN, is owned by the same company responsible for the ads. Why did it take them so long to step up and take responsibility? Yeah, I already know the answer to that.
  10. The articles weren't completely clear about that. The ads have been around major cities for weeks, but did they put them all up at the same time or did they do LA one day, New York the next... ? I sure as hell never saw the things and I'm in the immediate area of two of them.
  11. I'm not jumping on either side here, but how does football being the #1 sport in the US have anything to do with which sport is more popular in Buffalo? Since football is #1 nationally, does that mean that it's the #1 sport in every single town in the country? Why not simplify that even further. If it's the #1 sport in every single town, it must be the #1 sport in every single household too.
  12. It seems like a common sense move to try to disguise a bomb. A cartoon character could be a good way of doing that. As usual, this whole thing was completely media driven. It took way too long for the stories to finally mention exactly what was on the "unidentified packages". The media sticks with those words as long as possible because they want to scare people. I'm sure some of them were even hoping they were bombs just so they could be to one to break the story.
  13. No, they don't even care. Remember, teams have to win for the people around here to care (except the Red Sox). Summary: People are stupid. Heavy fines will be issued. Ratings will soar.
  14. So they're promotional stuff for cartoon network shows. Why the hell would they put these things underneath bridges unless they're going for the bomb scare angle?
  15. I was always a big Demolition fan. Call them ripoffs if you want, but that theme song was the best.
  16. They don't alternate the site between conferences anymore?
  17. chicken burrito
  18. This is a perfect example of something you shoud sue for: Neglect + serious life-threatening injury. Unfortunately, the system's too easy to abuse, so people sue for everything.
  19. Tigger "punches" a kid and the parents sue. Some drunken fatass falls on a kid, breaking his back... and the parents don't sue. Don't you just love America?
  20. You enjoyed the relationship between seamstress and dancer?
  21. And he was a Lex Luthor henchman in Superman Returns, which I watched Sunday night. Make that 3 days in a row.
  22. I'm amazed that they didn't offer to cover the medical bills immediately. IF that story as written is true, that family should take the Kraft's for every penny they have. Forcing the kid to move instead of brining the help to him? They could've killed him.
  23. Better yesterday? I don't know about that one. Both goalies had just about the same night. The only difference being that Buffalo didn't really bother to exploit Thomas' glaring weaknesses in the shootout. Anyway, I had to go on my mini rant since I live in Boston. I never understand all the praise Thomas gets. It's a classic case of over-valuing the hometown players.
  24. It might actually lead somewhere for once. Wallid (her husband, right?) has an in with the terrorists. I hope the show take that further than they did yesterday.
  25. I still haven't seen a replay to convince me that the puck would've gone in if Thomas hadn't gotten back in the net. Anyway, those two saves are great examples of why Miller is far better goalie than Tim Thomas. Thomas has made a few saves like that over the last season and a half and they're almost all the result of him being out of position. He has to make that crazy diving play over and over again because he's caught so far out of the net over and over. They had a video running at the arena yesterday of a bunch of them that showed a bunch of these. Yes, they're great saves, but more often than not, that puck ends up in the net. There's a reason why Thomas is has a GAA over 3 and a save percentage hovering around .9
