  1. I'll be at the two Boston shows. They're also the end of the tour, so its going to be even better than usual. I can't wait. I've dropped quite a bit of money for the two shows, but its worth every penny.
  2. Aren't they still trying to cast the Captain America role for that movie? Would this just be some random guy dressed up for the part?
  3. They could very easily do that in this one. I'm really hoping they do.
  4. Watanabe and Hauer probably combined for about 5 minutes of screen time, so its no real loss. Fichtner's screen time will probably be non-existant (if the trailer scene they released is indeed the start of the movie) and I really don't expect much screen time for Hall either. I think pretty much anything is a step up form Holmes. She added nothing to the first one and if nothing else, it removes that craziness from any potential marketing plans.
  5. Yeah, you really should be a bit more realistic with these lists. Throw in the random local tv personality or something. You could actually run into that person, making the game that much more fun.
  6. That was one that came to mind immediately when I saw this thread. The loss of Neeson hurts a bit, but the Dark Knight looks to have an equally solid cast, especially with Holmes out of the picture. I watched that last night. I had forgotten about the rest beyond the first 3.
  7. And with the success of that movie, showing him in the commercials for this movie is a very smart marketing plan. I'm sure a few more people will give the movie a chance now because of that.
  8. It was a conditional pick in the 2003. I looked it up a few weeks back when this came up on the other board. I forget exactly who it was, but it turned into nothing. Looking over the 2003 draft, I want to say Denis Yehzov, but don't quote me on that one. edit: That's the Hasek trade. editX2: Looking over that draft again, we had a 5th round pick that wasn't our usual spot. That might be the Woolley pick. They used it on Tom Morrow and my god was he a worthless hockey player.
  9. If you follow it through to see who that malcontent and the pick (and some other spare parts going either way in trades) were moved for a 1st round pick (Paille) and Jochen Hecht. At least they got something out of all of that.
  10. I bolded the key part of that statement. If nothing is worked out before July 1, that statement is going to be put to the test. Its a lot harder to turn down those bigger offers when they actually exist.
  11. I figured they'd end up being a part of the movie, but I hadn't heard that there were plans for their own movie. That should be interesting.
  12. Marvel wants to make an Avengers movie. They're putting together a bunch of movies to lead up to that. Iron Man, Hulk, Thor... its all going to lead up to a Captain America movie and then an Avengers movie.
  13. Yeah, I have to call BS on that one. Since that date is so recent (mid-season even), someone would have mentioned it on some kind of baseball broadcast.
  14. People have these crazy things called nicknames.
  15. First of all, they didn't let their best defensemen walk. Second, it was over $2.5-3 million, not $1-2 million. That difference is one very solid NHL player. So why is it that you're going to hold a lack of playoff success against Phaneuf, but then you'll turn around and talk about Campbell as you talk about Pronger and Lidstrom? 5 series wins makes all that difference compared to what Pronger and Lidstrom have done (specifically, Lidstrom)? Nevermind the fact that Campbell has now been a part of back-to-back huge playoff failures. Sure, maybe the rest of the team had a lot to do with those losses, but the same goes for Phaneuf. Also, why is it that you'll admit that age plays a major role in what kind of player Phaneuf can become but you don't mention it for Vanek? Both are essentially the same age and have the same amount of professional hockey under their belts.
  16. Ummm, if they didn't want to pay him, they wouldn't be.
  17. Actually, I'd say he did the best thing in that situation. Instead of trying to pull it towards the net to cover up, he knocked the puck back, where it wasn't going to be put in the net. He probably had no idea exactly how little time was left on the clock, but it was the perfect play. I love how stupid tv guys can be. I forget who it was interviewing Lidstrom (probably Pierre Maguire), but his first question was "does this put an end to the argument that a european captain can't win the cup?". What the hell kind of question is that? Talk about master of the obvious there. Another thing about the broadcast that annoyed me was towards the end of the celebration. The Detroit scrubs were getting the cup, guys like Mark Hartigan and NBC cut to an interview with Darryl Sydor. Darryl F'n Sydor! Why do you cut away from the cup for that?
  18. Does the fact that the point of impact is different from the place with the most damage tell you anything?
  19. But what exactly qualifies as damage though? Could a scratch end up being marked on that report? How easy is it to break a headlight? That could qualify as the broken piece found at the scene. Either way, its not a good thing, but I don't know how much can be told from that report.
  20. Making any public statement would be crazy. Whether or not it was him, he's tied into this thing directly because of the car. No attorney would let him say a word, even if completely innocent.
  21. You know, with as many ads there are floating around on the streets for the celtics, I have never seen one tv ad for the team. Kind of strange. Denver does have a decent hockey following, but I don't see them as belonging on the same list as the other markets mentioned before (I'm not sold on Pittsburgh either, but they obviously matter as of this moment). The Dakotas are essentially an offshoot of the Minnesota market. Wisconsin is fine, but like Denver, they don't quite measure up to the other markets. They might fall in as an offshoot of the Minnesota hockey market as well. I really see it as two main american markets, the northeast and the upper midwest. Buffalo might as well be the midpoint between the two, but then we also have the heavy southern Ontario influence.
  22. Maybe parts of New England and Minnesota? Hmmm, I wonder how Minnesota got that "state of hockey" nickname. New England's got their baseball distraction right now, but you should see how many options there are out here for hockey during the season. Excluding either of those areas from the list of hockey markets is crazy.
  23. Is it sad that the only picture that I cared about was the Wayne's World reunion? It makes me actually want to watch about 5 minutes of those awards.
  24. I knew I forgot something. I also liked it when I realized that the guy who opens up a book when the tv goes out was Kyle Gass.
