I still can't believe that my dad successfully designed and built a deck some 20+ years ago. It was quite the experience being something like 6 years old and having to help with that project. He never was the handyman type, but that that thing lasted the full 10-15 years until they got rid of the pool. He had the concrete blocks and the deck was a few inches over the top of the pool. There was plenty of space to cover the thing up each year. The one problem though was that the thing was a bee magnet. I can't count the number of nests I destroyed over the years. As for the above ground pools out here in the east question, I'm sure it has a lot to do with the extra space most have around here. You can put in an above ground pool and not have to build a fence around the entire thing, which still leaves you a decent size yard.

Just be careful with my posts. I started the thread so I have no problem with talking about specific details. But hey, you've been warned.

Reading through this thread, it seems like every single pizza place in the area has been named. I can't wait to get some decent pizza when I'm back in the area next month. And since its where the parents live, I'll be going to... Yeah, he has to be talking about the old one. What has it been, close to 10 years now? But anyway, who goes to a pizza place and sits down there to eat? Pick it up and bring it hope (but I guess that won't work for the person who started this thread).

Something that a lot of people don't realize with the shaft with too much flex is that not only does the shaft bend, but it will twist a bit too, opening the club face. That's always a fun demonstration to watch. The lesson thing should always be the first option. Try to scout out the pro a little if you can. Some are far better teachers than others. If you find the right person, you can spend far less money, but improve that much more. If I had the time and resources to golf more than I do now (maybe 5 times a year if I'm lucky), that would be the first thing I'd do.

Go see it again. Problem solved. What I really wonder is why does anyone care? My list of favorite movies is very different from yours, which is very different from anyone else posting in here. Hell, I'm sure there's someone out there who thinks Caddyshack 2 was a good movie. Personally, I could care less if someone else enjoyed a movie less than I did. All this greatest movie ever talk is absurd. There is no such thing.

I'll settle for the South Park version of the story where they finally decided to play a game straight and lost.

I still think that "-1" is better than any asterisk.
-
For a second there you had me asking myself "when did I start this thread?".
-
I'm always confused when this subject keeps popping up. Don't they actually have to accomplish something in order to have an asterisk?

Supposedly the voice is right along the lines of how it was written in the comicbooks. He can't just talk in Bruce Wayne voice. Anyway, its a very minor detail in the big picture.

That's dead on (along with the rest of the post that I cut out). It was never about Batman. It was about Harvey Dent. In destroying Dent, he found that perfect adversary in Batman.

He's not so much crazy, but that he wants to create insanity.

Andy Dick busted for groping an underage girl
shrader replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Rogan and Stanhope mentioned in the same thread? Thanks for reminding me of that absolute abortion of a program that was the new Man Show. -
They'll have a 3rd with Two-Face, but I really can't tell if they planned to use the Joker again or not. They never intended to do any kind of back story for the Joker though. He really doesn't have one anyway. I loved how he told multiple versions of how his face was scarred. That right there is the Joker. Giving a backstory gives a reason why he is as crazy as he is and he doesn't need it. In the comics there is no accepted origin story for him and that just adds to his insanity. The only real backstory he needed was taken care of in the movie. He's basically some minor criminal in Gotham that escaped from Arkham in Batman Begins. Batman's presence made him take that next step, it gave him meaning.

With or without Ledger, I don't want to see any more of the Joker beyond this movie. I don't know how you top what he did in this one. It should stand alone.

Andy Dick busted for groping an underage girl

He falls right into the same trap that a lot of female comics do. The act is aimed at a specific audience. I'm sure that audience enjoys it, but at least half of the people out there have no f'n clue what the hell he's talking about. -
That was a great movie, but I'm at a loss for words right now. Really, I'm still trying to soak in everything that I saw. I'm sure they could've trimmed it down a bit, but there were quite a few vital pieces to the story in that last 30 minutes. Suggesting that the Joker became tiresome is way off base though. Every bit of praise Ledger has been getting was well deserved.

That was one of the things I loved about Begins. They actually explain stuff like that.
-
The list of bands who are involved with some kind of tribute is pretty impressive too.
-
I don't know where you sit on comic book movies, but its really not like any of the others. Begins was far more story driven than most. The whole thing was put together so well, its worth seeing.

Andy Dick busted for groping an underage girl

Yeah, without reading the link I'd say its pretty obvious that he didn't have any bad intentions because clearly Andy Dick is gay. -
They were hyping up his performance well before he died. Granted it was people who worked on the movie, but you don't generally hear that kind of stuff so far in advance. Posthumous nominations are so rare. He would've gotten the consideration regardless of his death, especially since he has already been nominated in the past.

Has anyone ever done any type of analysis to figure out just how long of a holdout starts to hurt the development of a player in his first season? The results are probably very obvious for guys on either extreme, the one or two day guys or players like JeMarcus Russell, but is there a certain time where it really starts to hurt players?

Tonight at midnight! Finally I can stop mentioning this in every single movie thread on this board. I've been waiting far too long. Anyway, is anyone else going tonight? The theater I'm going to has it on 7 screens and as of yesterday 5 were sold out. It's going to be one hell of an atmosphere outside that theater.

My Brett Favre scenario that gets him to Minnesota
shrader replied to trolls_r_us's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems like most agree that this kind of condition would never be allowed, but I wonder if they could set it up a different way. Say they get that 3rd round pick mentioned earlier. I wonder if they can set the deal up so that if the team that picks up Favre turns around and trades him somewhere else, that 3rd round pick becomes a 1st round pick instead.
