  1. Yeah, but I'd say the casual fan is about 95% of the total fanbase leaguewide.
  2. The team, the league, and the television networks.
  3. I love how a relatively boring draft had lead to the posibility of a more entertaining offense. I had no problems with the draft, but let's face it. Picking up a pair of guards early isn't going to do much for the casual fan.
  4. Why did the movie open so early in the day? I'm guessing a lot of people didn't expect it to open until midnight, which would lead to the small showing in that theater.
  5. It's kind of implied, isn't it? But then again, since you did say "a few other cities", I guess I should've picked up on that one.
  6. Tampa's not going anywhere. Their attendance has dropped a bit thanks to their recent struggles, but they're still drawing 16k+ per game. If they can return to even mediocrity, they'll be right up over 18K again. They consistently outdraw LA and New Jersey (with a new arena even), but you'll never see anyone calling for their heads. Other than the Phoenix situation, obviously, the league needs to do something about the Islanders before they attempt to fix any other problems.
  7. Unfortunately, it's the owners who have the say and not the fans. Sure, the Leafs won't lose any ticket sales, but if they're going to lose even $1 somewhere else, they won't let this happen.
  8. No single player in this league over the last 15+ years deserves the benefit of doubt. Unless proven otherwise, they were all using.
  9. That's my attitude with just about everything with this team. With everything they've done the past 10 years, every single position on this team needs to earn my trust.
  10. I used to work with a bunch of college softball players. I'd say there were about 50/50, so you were looking at a coin toss in the looks department. So you've got yourself a pitcher or middle infielder, huh?
  11. I can't see them cutting Youboty. IR is a completely different story though. Florence just has that Will James feel to me this year, so I could definitely see him sent packing.
  12. That's exactly what I was thinking. If by some chance this was a very severe injury that left him with little hope to ever play again, do they actually owe him anything beyond his medical bills? Does anyone know what is required in these situations?
  13. I think the whole redemption thing is playing up the fact that he's "dying" more than anything else. If anything, all he'll get is Kim back in his life, as opposed to having lost it all at the end of season 6.
  14. So when Jack finds god and converts to islam, what will he change his name to?
  15. Those slow motion shots are absolutely brutal. Those waves that go through Hatton's head... damn.
  16. Welcome to the quarterback situation for just about every team in the league. Who wouldn't be screwed if their starter goes down or even worse, their backup too?
  17. Didn't New England franchise Vinitieri a year or two before he left? Their FO sure does suck.
  18. I should've known that with a name like moon. But yeah, she'll do.
  19. I wasn't trying to hint at the difference in the state of health down there, even though it's a major issue here. For many diseases, there is a difference between races. I think it would be funny if hispanics did in fact have a higher mortality rate from the flu. All this panic reporting would be even more idiotic up here in the US, well, for the non-hispanics anyway.
  20. There's a guy named Moon Bloodgood in Terminator? Well that seals it. I'm seeing that movie. Even though we all know he'll survive, it should be interesting to watch a movie where there is no guarantee that John Connor makes it through to the end. This should be a busy month for me. I'm sure I'll check out Terminator and Star Trek in theaters (two movies in one month is very busy for me). I'm sure I'll see wolverine at some point, just not in theaters.
  21. So has any non-hispanic died from this yet? I'd be curious to see if the regular flu has a higher mortality rate in hispanics. You know, these are little details that the media never bothers to look up or present.
  22. I'm really tempted to go running down the street screaming "OH MY GOD, SWINE FLU!". They did have 2 kids in the hospital a couple blocks away earlier this week who were confirmed cases. The media would love it. Who knows, maybe the swine flu would actually be credited for it's first true kill in the US if I accidentally ran into traffic.
  23. Yeah, the head shot doesn't tell us enough. I don't know how old the kid is, but he must be familiar with a paper bag.
