  1. You can't fix a bad contract. You can potentially trade them out, most likely giving away additional assets to do so. That said, no one is taking Okposo off their hands. That's really the only bad Murray contract that remains. The rest have expired.
  2. Nitpick alert: math errors are for the weak. Double check that point projection.? Sorry, it's a slow day for me today.
  3. I hope Frolik can help the PK. If they can get that unit inside the top 20, it should be worth a couple wins. It doesn't sound like much, but that would make a huge difference for any team that is in the middle of the pack.
  4. A 24 year old looking to be around 18 years old? That's really not all that much of a stretch. And what's the deal with that site putting her picture in between a zoomed in shot of her eyes?
  5. You need the same exact thing I did for the annoying kids who cut through my backyard on the way to the school bus: bear trap
  6. It's fitting that a team from a third rate league would paraphrase such a garbage song in a tweet. Come on Cincy, no one deserves the punishment of having Smashmouth pop into their head.
  7. I suppose they left a few threads out there which they could explore if they wanted to, but I really hope this is it. The story feels finished for every character who did appear in this one. I don't want to see the story continued without anyone from the original book, so that really only leaves one more person they can follow. I'll avoid the spoiler just in case, but if you read and watched, you know why I'm talking about.
  8. I love that he actually did the parody version of the song on the Simpsons too. That one was always one of my favorites.
  9. You can definitely see that in the link upthread that mentioned his feud with Roger Ebert.
  10. It looks like an incredibly lazy take to me. If making the team is a standard, you can't at the same time crap on Samuelsson. Beyond that, Johnson is significantly younger than the rest of that group. 8 of the 9 d-men were born in 2000. The oonly 2001 was drafted ahead of Johnson., Cam York (1/5/2001). Johnson is 7/24/2001, so he's significantly younger than that group. They're clearly leaning towards experience. He'll get that spot next year. And then there's also the fact that he's crapping on Samuelsson for something that hasn't actually happened yet. Is that just a tweet from some completely random guy?
  11. I wonder if it's a bit of "hey, it worked last time". I think it was the Islanders game where they did the same thing late. Except in that one, they had just kept control of the puck in the offensive zone for somewhere around 1-1.5 minutes. So at that point, they were basically taking a hammer to an exhausted opponent. I'll readily admit that it's easy to say this given the benefit of hindsight, but that was a mistake last night.
  12. Things get much more interesting after taking a look at their payroll. They have a lot of money already committed for next year. If they want to keep Hall around, they're going to need to move out a high end body or two. I can't imagine there's going to be much market for a guy like Derek Stepan at $6.5 million. They pretty much have to move out a goalie. I don't know if I've ever seen a team with two of them both making north of $4 million.
  13. This one is giving me bad flashbacks to the previous Jumanji movie. I sat next to a random woman who laughed hysterically at every single line in the movie, all while explaining to her friend every little connection to the original movie. It was nauseating.
  14. And if they did move him like that, they'd probably get less in return. If that happens and I'm one of their 6 fans, I revolt. If they manage to stay near the top of that division all year, even though they probably wouldn't be a serious contender, I feel like they would have to ride him through the playoffs.
  15. I cringe more and more each time I see a trailer for cats.
  16. Thank god he had the accent. It's so appropriate for the scenario and makes the whole thing that much better.
  17. Rob Ray has his moments occasionally. That "how're you doing" fit so perfectly. Sometimes I wonder how announcers are even able to find any words after certain plays. This was one of them. Edit: And here's one thought that just came to mind. Pre-draft hype called for Dahlin to become an even more dominant player than Eichel. Just imagine if that happens.
  18. I've had my PS4 for 4 years now and I've played a grand total of 5 games. Each of those was a part of a long running franchise, three of which are more than likely finished. I think I've officially hit the point where I won't be moving forward with the new consoles. If the machine is mostly a streaming video connection for me, I can find much cheaper options.
  19. Honestly, I completely forgot that he did those movies too (the first 2, right?) and stopped reading at JJ Abrams. I guess next week's release is clouding my mind. But speaking of Star Trek, I wonder if we'll ever get that Tarantino film. I still demand Sam Jackson as Picard.
  20. Wrong director. Abrams movie was pretty loyal to the original 3. It was Rian Johnson that changed things up significantly in the second movie. Maybe they were able to convince him to show up for a brief cameo. I know he’s retired, but he did do a small scene in the Goldbergs a year or two ago. I’d absolutely love to see him show up.
  21. And then there’s the forward he undressed to open up a little space. Reinhart and Miller also had a pair of really nice passes on that goal.
  22. While we're completely changing characters from a 35 year old movie, let's make Winston the mastermind of the whole group. Venkman can be a super serious businessman with the highest of moral standards when he's away from the university. Some things are better left untouched. Maybe they feel the need to make up for the movie from a few years ago, reclaiming the legacy of their franchise. But to me, the apparent drastic change of tone in this movie isn't the right way to do that. If you realize that you can't recapture what made the original special, maybe you should just leave it alone.
  23. His awkwardness was a huge part of the character. That type of revision to his past would be a big move away from what made the character so entertaining. Now I want to go back and watch the first one because I feel like he was completely oblivious to Janine's advances. If anyone from that group had unknown kids on the side, it was Venkman.
  24. I refuse to do the math on how Egon, 30 years later, has two grandkids in their early teens.
