  1. I hope I never have to hear Russel Crowe sing ever again.
  2. I'd love to see where he was going after the save when he started sprinting upfield.
  3. Well then maybe we shouldn't invite Gob.
  4. I haven't had the chance to go back over this thread, but I really hope this one wasn't posted already. This Helmet-Sanders exchange always cracks me up. http://youtu.be/qzO4BSTnkgg
  5. I wanted to say it too, but let it go. And in my party, I'd like to invite Cliff Claven just to see how quickly he'd wind up alone in the corner after driving everyone away.
  6. If I actually had a choice for which sport my future children will play professionally, it would be golf. Baseball probably is the most cost effective sport though for the parents who are crazy enough to think their child actually has a shot.
  7. I wonder if you might have a high potential for asphyxiation if one of those things popped. That or like you said, all the rocks. Pick your poison. I'd also like to see the hilarity that could ensue if a guy is running down a snowy slope like that with a bowie knife.
  8. One thing I'm not clear on in all of this: will they still be connected to SI or is that brand being phased out? I do go there for the random Peter King stuff and a few other writers, so I'll need to figure out where to head to find those ones.
  9. And the best part is that Nassau county has since signed on for renovations to the coliseum after this was announced. Figure that one out.
  10. Lost control? Doesn't that imply that they actually had control at any point?
  11. Isn't that what espn already does with their paid service?
  12. I really enjoy old political bumper stickers, especially those who lost. Last year I saw a car with a ton of stickers on it. One was "Dukakis '88". If I had been driving when I saw it, I probably would have crashed due to laughter.
  13. They still need to ratify the CBA before they can release any of that info. The board of governors meet for their vote tomorrow. I'm not entirely sure when the players' vote is since that's a much larger group. You probably won't see anything schedule-wise until the weekend.
  14. So I read the article now and it appears to be a meta analysis, combining results from several different studies. Overweight is compared directly to normal weight, so there aren't any underweight people skewing that. It's also one of the higher level journals, so it would have been much more thoroughly reviewed than it would have been at the TSW Journal of Medicine.
  15. Interesting site. I may have to check that one out from time to time. Who are faces #1 and #3 on the site's banner?
  16. The quote in the first post is very generic. I've seen it a few times now with certain conditions where being overweight is protective when compared to normal weight. What isn't stated in that quote though is that obesity still leads to increased risk in most cases. Like you, I didn't read either, but the thing that comes to mind immediately here is money. I'm willing to bet that the overweight group has the highest income of the three. Then again, I'm sure they adjusted for this.
  17. Scanning over that list, the phrase garbage time sure is dead on. I'm a bit surprised on Gangster Squad though. When trailers started to pop up for that one a while back, it seemed like they were pushing it pretty hard. I guess it didn't turn out to be the movie they were expecting.
  18. I used to use it out here in Boston, mostly for getting to and from hockey games. As far as I can tell, they didn't bump up the rates at all if you had multiple drivers on the same account, so if you know of anyone who might also be interested, it's a nice way to lower the costs a bit, dividing up that monthly fee. My former boss also used zipcar for a while up until his kids hit the driving age and he swore by it. edit: The car selection was kind of crappy though. I guess you can live with driving the most ridiculous looking car if you don't actually own it.
  19. Epi pen was by far the best
  20. Can they actually lift stuff that size? The ones in that video were in very convenient locations for the eagles, where they could drag them off the side of the cliff and then glide out to a good dropping spot. Either way, that's a very impressive bird right there. I'd love to get a close up view of one at a zoo or something just to see that wingspan.
  21. Not at all. Most of the stuff I wind up seeing are ones I've seen before.
  22. I knew there was a reason I will never let my kids watch that show
  23. This guy sounds like a Borat-style act to me.
  24. I wish there was someway to actually get a picture each day. These things are always great.
