  1. He probably realized that he was slipping a bit on his fake tv voice and didn't want to risk sounding like a normal human being.
  2. Last time I checked, nothing happened at Foxboro.
  3. There's actually a bit more use to the local broadcast though than the national ones. They need to use that time to tell runners/families where to go or to give out the FBI's tip hotline number. I think they did an extended cut to this guy on the street to give the in studio anchors a bit of a break, but man was it awkward.
  4. I'm sure they're out there already. Those people are very smart businessmen. They mass produce that stuff.
  5. The death count thing has been curious to me. I was flipping back and forth between local stations last night just to see what each one was saying. One station decided to go for the sensationalism route and cut to two reporters who were there and the one guy kept saying over and over "I'm no doctor, but I saw people down on the street who were clearly dead". He's saying this while the station itself was still running their ticker saying 2 confirmed dead. I was trying to figure out why they'd keep him on the air with the way he was rambling on and on. Oh, and one more annoying note about that station. The lead anchor continued to talk in his ridiculously fake tv voice through the whole thing. Do people really need to keep up that act during stuff like this?
  6. Just leave them out in the open when you put them in someone's town. Somebody is hiding them behind buildings in my town and its incredibly annoying
  7. I'm kind of surprised we haven't heard of more kids than just the 8 year old. If that blast is taking out a lot of legs, any kid down there is right in line with the blast
  8. I don't know why people would try to link it to any of those days. This is the Boston Marathon. It's a pretty well known event with large crowds. It's an attractive target for any scumbag who wants to do something like this.
  9. Why are they carting him out there? He was recently hospitalized with a broken leg and had other recent health issues. They should just let the governor do all the talking for this one.
  10. Unfortunately, all it takes is one.
  11. My friend was actually on the T headed to Copley to pick something up for her wedding. Luckily she was nowhere near it when it happened.
  12. Something odd is going on at the Tufts medical center right now. Apparently the NBC affiliate has a reporter there who saw police surround a man with guns drawn and are now talking to him.
  13. They're mentioning the post story on the radio out here, they aren't giving much support to it.
  14. That one already was detonated apparently. They're also saying this happened right around the time the Red Sox game ended, so somebody was probably hoping to get a few of those fans as they were moving to watch the marathon.
  15. They're using the word bomb over and over on tv too. So is that pretty much official at this point?
  16. The local news here is talking about backpacks being potentially left against a building. I can't even imagine how something like that would go unnoticed.
  17. I hate even mentioning it in my first post, but it's the logical thought at this point.
  18. I'm so glad I don't have to go through that area on the way home like I used to. I don't even want to know what its like right now.
  19. I can't get any of the local Boston sites to load right now. Probably some server overload issues or something.
  20. So when does the speculation turn to what you know it's going to turn to? I can't pull up any audio here at work right now, so I'm very curious to see what the story is on this one.
  21. Now that I think about it, I'm not really sure which term they use out here in Boston. I know I've seen "sub" at a few places, but I don't know how widespread that is.
  22. Any update on this?
  23. 27 years and his glasses are still in one piece. Impressive. I wonder how much he can actually see through those things though.
  24. I like the stretch just past Albany where you parallel the Mohawk River for a while. Other than that, there's a couple cool looking little towns that look like they're directly out of the early 1900s, but you pass them way too quickly. Other than that, yeah, not much to see there.
  25. Whacking Day!
