  1. It had to have been. Why they'd run their breaking news sound effect and graphics when talking about a 6 hour old story, I don't know. Stupid news.
  2. They said something about it on the news that I'm watching but then never said another word. I must have heard something wrong.
  3. There's apparently another bomb threat in Boston tonight. These guys know they're getting caught soon.
  4. And a new Man of Steel trailer is linked there too!
  5. Bomb threat at the courthouse now. Such a crazy week out here.
  6. And did I see one that circled a teenage girl's ass and labeled it "da bomb"?
  7. I haven't been crazy about the local coverage here in Boston, but I will give them credit for one thing. The station I was watching did not actually report any of the things you listed. The only thing they did mention was that there were other suspect packages. It's easy to see how that one turned to the "other bombs found" report though. They were constantly referred to as suspicious packages, and all it takes is one idiot to change one word in that description. I probably just turned on the right station though. I'm sure most of the others ran with all the bad "confirmed facts".
  8. You can see just about anything you want if you look at that these pictures long enough. I'd love to know what the feds see when they look at this stuff, but unfortunately (actually, it's probably a good thing), we'll never know their exact process here.
  9. Not to mention the visibility of the whole thing. A lot more people are going to see it at 2:50 or whatever it time was vs. early in the morning. Add in the fact that you're doing it in the middle of a very busy urban area and you're sure as hell going to get a lot of attention.
  10. They're pretty easy to find actually. It makes me wonder why someone goes the effort to do it. On another note, are all of your friend lists no longer alphabetized? That's the real annoying thing right now, trying to find a specific person's town when there is no rhyme or reason to the order they're listed.
  11. This was a bomb set off in the middle of a large urban area. Add in the symbolism of the finish line and this is far more of a statement than doing it at the start. You get a lot more chaos with this location. It's also a hell of a lot easier to do it at the end. Some random non-runner with a backpack is going to stick out like a sore thumb in Hopkinton. Just about every single kid out there near Copley has a backpack full of beer, so it doesn't stand out one bit out there.
  12. Which parts would you call sophisticated and which parts amateur?
  13. He probably realized that he was slipping a bit on his fake tv voice and didn't want to risk sounding like a normal human being.
  14. Last time I checked, nothing happened at Foxboro.
  15. There's actually a bit more use to the local broadcast though than the national ones. They need to use that time to tell runners/families where to go or to give out the FBI's tip hotline number. I think they did an extended cut to this guy on the street to give the in studio anchors a bit of a break, but man was it awkward.
  16. I'm sure they're out there already. Those people are very smart businessmen. They mass produce that stuff.
  17. The death count thing has been curious to me. I was flipping back and forth between local stations last night just to see what each one was saying. One station decided to go for the sensationalism route and cut to two reporters who were there and the one guy kept saying over and over "I'm no doctor, but I saw people down on the street who were clearly dead". He's saying this while the station itself was still running their ticker saying 2 confirmed dead. I was trying to figure out why they'd keep him on the air with the way he was rambling on and on. Oh, and one more annoying note about that station. The lead anchor continued to talk in his ridiculously fake tv voice through the whole thing. Do people really need to keep up that act during stuff like this?
  18. Just leave them out in the open when you put them in someone's town. Somebody is hiding them behind buildings in my town and its incredibly annoying
  19. I'm kind of surprised we haven't heard of more kids than just the 8 year old. If that blast is taking out a lot of legs, any kid down there is right in line with the blast
  20. I don't know why people would try to link it to any of those days. This is the Boston Marathon. It's a pretty well known event with large crowds. It's an attractive target for any scumbag who wants to do something like this.
  21. Why are they carting him out there? He was recently hospitalized with a broken leg and had other recent health issues. They should just let the governor do all the talking for this one.
  22. My friend was actually on the T headed to Copley to pick something up for her wedding. Luckily she was nowhere near it when it happened.
  23. Something odd is going on at the Tufts medical center right now. Apparently the NBC affiliate has a reporter there who saw police surround a man with guns drawn and are now talking to him.
  24. They're mentioning the post story on the radio out here, they aren't giving much support to it.
