Iphone 5 water damage; But I have an idea and help
shrader replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It's nowhere near as entertaining as a phone in the river, but something like 8 years ago my dad lost his phone somewhere while leaving work around Christmas time. At the end of the winter, he found it in a mostly melted snowbank in his parking lot. I told him to have some fun and try charging it. It still worked. -
Did anyone else thing about this conversation when watching Sunday's episode?

What show(s) have you recently binged on? (spoilers)
shrader replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That and the two years where Prison Break was good. That was one hell of a way to start the week. I don't know if they've given a time slot to the new 24 yet, but it damn well better be 8PM on mondays. -
Anyone know where to stay in Boston?
shrader replied to outsidethebox's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Just to add to what has already been said, subway access to Fenway will be fairly simple if you stay anywhere in the city. Back Bay would likely wind up being just a walk, so it does have that going for it. -
2014 Summer Movie Preview: X-Men, Godzilla, Guardians & more
shrader replied to Mark Vader's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I always just assumed that it was as simple as trying to keep it separate from Guardians. They had a two month longer gap between Ironman 3 and Thor last year. It looks like they're trying to stick close to that one, but shrink the gap slightly. -

Thanks for the write up Mark. I'm going to be very busy this summer. -
If you want a time line you have the 9 months that Lori is pregnant with Judith. Now add that to whatever her current age is. Then you have the unknown time between when Rick was in the hospital and he woke up. That couldn't have been very long or else he wouldn't have survived. You might have to take a month or two off of that time depending on whether or not Shane is the father. 1.5 years does sound reasonable. The first two seasons played out fairly continuously. There was an unseen time gap between seasons 2 and 3, but Lori was pregnant over that time. So at most there's 9 months there. Then there's the gap between seasons 3 and 4, which can be figured out by guessing how old Judith is.

And the answer is very simple. There are some things that cannot be shown on tv.

Are we really discussing why the guy's pants were up and why we don't see them going to the bathroom?
-
Do they still get a lot of people out there in the kayaks during games now that the Bonds hysteria has died down? I haven't watched much baseball in years.

I know next to nothing about San Francisco, but that area always looks amazing anytime I see that ballpark on tv. If they can do something even remotely close to Buffalo starting with this current construction, it will go a long way. Buffalo's a very different area, but if they can at least get something worth showing on TV it will be great. Maybe we can finally see the end of the days where the only clips they show during football broadcasts are shots of the Falls or of people making wings.

was being hijacked to DC 2 dead turned to walkers against 2 alive. 1 was screaming ,,,, if any survive its the B budget actor The 2nd guy wasn't dead, just knocked out. There's no way that guy would be dumb enough to kill his friend, leave the body on the ground, and then go to sleep in the bed. I'm also pretty sure I saw him breathing when Rick fled the bedroom. But whatever, that guy gets killed by the bathroom zombie anyway... And speaking of that, I love Rick's move to crack open the door so the walker would go after the others. They should have stuck around and waited to go in for the extra guns once everything settled.

I'm going to go out and start collecting spores, molds, and fungus in his honor.

I wonder if we'll see more of that group inside the house. I recognized the guy who was sitting outside eating the can of food. He's done a ton of shows, so it seems like it would be an awfully small role for someone like that. Maybe he'll make it out of the house and show up later.

The raccoon is voiced by Bradley Cooper so I'm surprised he didn't get a line or two in the trailer.

I think they've done enough with all of their movies to earn the attention from the audience. I personally have never heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy but the other movies have convinced me to check this one out.

I get the feeling that the sanctuary down the train tracks is some sort of trap

Maggie and Glenn have definitely been handicapped a bit by the flu storyline this year. I think it pretty much had to happen though. They had to have at least one of the original characters catch the bug and Glenn was really the only one who made any sense. If it was nothing but the newbies, no one would have cared and sidelining either Rick or Daryl for a few episodes would have brought on a ton of complaints.

[closed]Cap Numbers 2014 - Kevin Kolb
shrader replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What if he retires? What does that do to his cap hit? -
The larger ones probably have a much harder time finding shelter in the winter than the little ones.

I'm glad they showed the Governor with a bullet hole in his head in the opening. Some people were dumb enough to think he somehow survived, which takes stupidity to a whole new level. And the zombie Hershel head? That was a good hard kick to the nuts to open the show. I do like that we are going to see a couple separate groups work their way back together. It will be that much more effective if a couple people actually die here and there. Unfortunately, that will just end up being a few of the red shirts on the bus instead of someone significant.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned in the last thread that my father-in-law was in the middle of a battle with pancreatic cancer. My wife and I got married this past August and that and the birth of his first grand-daughter in October (not ours, my brother-in-law's daughter) were two major milestones that he wanted to reach. He made it to those and looked great. My family who had never met him would never have guessed he was sick at the wedding. He began his downward spiral at the end of October though. By Thanksgiving he was very noticeably sick He was struggling at Christmas but seemed to be in good spirits when family and friends were visiting for the festivities. The day after Christmas, my wife and I left to spend about a week in Buffalo (the in-laws live in NH). Once we left things took a turn for the worst. We were driving back on 12/30 when my wife got the call from her mother, telling her that he was given 1-3 weeks, and was going on hospice care that night. It was one miserable drive as my wife was dead silent for about 3 hours straight. We headed up to NH the next morning, but he was pretty much gone already at that point. He made it 3 more days and then it was over. The thing that bugs me the most about the whole thing is that by making that trip to Buffalo, my wife wound up missing out on the last couple days where she could have been able to talk and interact with her father. We had no idea how quickly things were about to happen, but I think I'm going to feel guilty about that one for a while. As far as advice is concerned, I would say to not let anyone tell you what you are and aren't supposed to do while dealing with this. There is no right or wrong way to deal with this, so just do what you feel is right. Everyone copes differently. Yes, like people are saying, don't go through this alone, but at the same time, don't be afraid to ask people for some alone time as well. Family and friends are going to want to visit you and your wife, but you also need some down time.

I'm pretty sure it is still out there. People just aren't clicking on tiles right now because of the valentines. Also, I don't think anything shows up right now other that the hearts, no buildings at all. The tiles will return after this event.

That zirconia looks so pointless. I saw it in another town once and it was tiny. It takes up maybe 4 squares and all it does is fall to the ground if you tap it.
