  1. He watched a commercial once, so he knows all there is to know about video game content.
  2. This thread can only lead to torches and pitchforks. Where's the popcorn eating emoticon when I need it?
  3. I don't know whether or not it was actually offered to him, but I did see a story last week that said he is getting a huge payoff for not getting the Late Show gig. There was a clause in his contract for a couple million dollar payout if they went with someone else. If he did get offered the job, I'd say he made the right choice. His style wouldn't work at the earlier hour. His material is a bit more risky. He's perfect right where he is.
  4. And the crazy part is that they had to detonate that one too. Are we officially at the point now where we say "there's something electronic, better safe than sorry"? Maybe it's just the bomb squad venting a bit and having a little fun.
  5. The second bag wasn't mentioned very much during the brief coverage last night. My guess is that they knew exactly where it came from and weren't concerned. They forced everyone to evacuate the area pretty quickly when it all happened, so I can see someone, even media, losing their bag during that rush. It's the same reason why there were lots of "suspicious devices" reported last year when everything happened, people drop stuff when in a panic.
  6. Sad to say, but I bet you can expect to see a few more on Monday somewhere along the course. They can't police all 26 miles. There are too many idiot college kids along that course for something stupid not to happen, especially on one of the biggest drinking holidays of the year.
  7. I want to see a secret service agent dive in front of the shoe.
  8. Ok, I'll say it. This guy has the best name ever.
  9. To the people who have grills with side burners, what exactly do you wind up using those for? I've got a brand new gas grill wedding gift just sitting in the in-laws basement until we buy a house and have the space to use it. No one I know has a grill with one, so I've never seen it in use. Is it pretty much just for keeping things warm after you've taken them off the grill?
  10. I saw what had to be the dumbest move I've ever seen by someone on a bike this morning. I was driving through a green light (at maybe 25-30 MPH) and this 20-something idiot on a bike was riding up the side street. He took the right turn at full speed right out in front of me all while riding without his hands on the handle bars. So of course it was a ridiculously wide turn. I was on a 4 lane road and luckily no one was next to me or else I would have had no choice but to hit him. I can't even imagine how stupid you have to be to ride like that out into traffic.
  11. He's way too edgy for the earlier time slot. He's perfect right where he is.
  12. The timing is pretty interesting, with that recent "fire Colbert" stink due to people not understanding satire. I wonder if CBS will get a little backlash from that crowd due to this decision.
  13. His interview style shouldn't be too difficult to translate over to his non-character role. It's the rest of the show that will take a lot of work to figure out.
  14. So will he stay in character? That seems like a big break from the usual routine they have on the network late night shows.
  15. It's crazy how many kids do these stupid things now. My wife teaches 4th grade at a small catholic school and she had a girl tell her last week that she likes to blow up buildings. The girl is incredibly odd and I've heard a lot of stories about her throughout the year. I told my wife that she needs to tell someone about what the girl said. It's more than likely nothing as the girl sounds harmless, but that's not a chance you can take anymore.
  16. I heard a good line on the radio the other day. It was something along the lines of twitter blowing up sunday night with comments about wresting being fake. Those same people then turned around and watched a show with dragons. I gave up on wrestling maybe 5 years ago or so, but I won't question anyone who watches it. We've seen enough point shaving scandals and corrupt refs in the so called real sports that the "it's fake!" complaints ring hollow with me at this point. Another thing that I think happens a lot with people who stop watching wresting is that they eventually come back to it when they have kids of their own.
  17. I won't go very often since there are far more convenient stores for me, but I'm looking forward to the opening of the store in Burlington, MA this fall. It'll be maybe a half an hour drive and I can head over there every other month or so to load up on my Buffalo essentials like Weber's mustard. I just wish it was open before the summer grilling season.
  18. I'm sorry to hear that millbank. It's never an easy process, but I hope it isn't too rough on you.
  19. I was hoping someone would mention it quickly. Which of the other movies would you say you absolutely have to see before watching this one?
  20. From the looks of things I think someone can get my without seeing most of them. Watch the ones I mentioned and then get a quick description of the Avengers and I think that will be enough.
  21. My wife is actually willing to go see Captain America with me. I keep telling her that she's going to be very confused if she doesn't watch some of the earlier movies first. Obviously the first Captain America would be a must. Other than that, I think just Ironman, especially since I think she'll actually like that one.
  22. Sounds like Carol to me. She's not second in command at this point, but that could easily change in the future. Her character development has been great.
  23. I just assumed they filmed all the flashbacks at the same time they were filming the season premiere. I can't picture them calling him and the Harry Potter kid back in to film two quick scenes.
  24. I know the popular opinion seems to be that Carol and Tyrese will play a big role in saving them and that Beth has already been eaten. I get the feeling that she's going to play a big role in them getting out. That episode was full of foreshadowing and the last flashback had Rick putting the hat on her and saying "there's a new sheriff in town". I couldn't help but think there was something to that. I'll also gladly admit the possibility that the flashback could have also served the purpose of giving one more scene to Beth before never being seen again, just like it was for Hershel.
