  1. Same here. Despised his politics/economics, but not the man. RIP.
  2. I recall reading on a number of occasions that Bruce slipped under 260 during the course of a season.
  3. I'd add "get rid of Kelsay", but that may have to wait one more year.
  4. Ayers was the pick, the Bills are stuck (and hoepfully not with another "Flowers"). Jeez, Ayers was a the guy....he must have pissed someone off at One Bills Drive......
  5. Touboty showed that when healthy, he's a player, with far greater upside than Greer, Unfortunately, staying healthy hasn't been Youboty's strong suit so far. Fowler? Instant upgrade simply by "addition by subtraction", even if Harngartner or Wood perform poorly.
  6. With all that has happened this off season, and another DB drafted......KO better hope he can find an employer come late August, early September, because I don't see him remaining a Bill, and that would be a good thing after his miserable performance last year. I too like the Nelson pick. Let's hope we finally got a TE who can be a weapon. (Get ready to change that "sig")
  7. Harngartner plays center (his experience as a pro will count heavily). Wood may be the Bills cneter down the road, but unlikely it will be from the get go.
  8. EZC, you're really becoming one to ignore...
  9. No, this guy is NOT an NFL TE......
  10. I liked Ayers over Maybin in a heartbeat, so this is a no brainer o me. I'd take #2.......
  11. Sorry, but most of us quit "wondering" about the state of the Bills a long time ago.
  12. Casserly "had" a decent rep which led to his Texans job, but did so poorly he was removed. I'm not quite so sure that he is as solid of an evaluator as some think he is.
  13. .....but still capable of playing like Genghis Kahn..... (Donohoe you putz......)
  14. Yikes !!!!... He sure looked horrible in the SB (just as we remembered him).
  15. Good point and addition....I guess I still bame Saban for leaving (since we're not the only team or organization he quit on), yet Saban did bring respectability back until the penny pinching Wilson got involved.
  16. With Roscoe's limited (very limited?) value other than punt returns, his 3 Mil salary and bonuses this year do seem a bit much. Had he at least developed into a competent WR with some ability to utilize his speed, the picture would be totally different. Shopping Roscoe that this time makes some sense. Shopping Kelsay, on the other hand is a exercise in futility since he hasn't made a play since the 2007 season in the game against the Cowboys.Finding another team willing to take on his current salary will be difficult at best. It is likely Kelsay will be a Bill until the Bills simply cut him.
  17. ......what we would give to have them again.......
  18. Thanks, and I too, want little more that to be able to enjoy the Bills win few more than they have the past decade and actually give me reason to look forward to that grouping of games that follow the regular season> Oh yeah, they're called the playoffs, I darned near forgot ......
  19. Skoob....no one said, nor did I, that we had "Rome". But that should be the goal, and that doesn't happen by "torpedoing" what little has been built. As for your Miami analogy, when did Parcells join the Bills front office? Point being, the Bills don't have football knowledgeable people running the show. Likelihood of the Bills making great leaps forward this year is very doubtful, and with good reason.
  20. Skoob.....O-lines aren't built overnight, especially in an off season where anyone of real talent is ignored when considering replacements or God forbid, improvements. Draft? O-line's manned by a pair of rookies? Extremely rare to find this a improvement. No, I stand by my comments. The draft could possibly make our line slightly less painful to watch, but Rome won't be built (re-built?) in a year.......
  21. Let's see, I began following the Bills after watching them lose to KC in the 1966 AFL championship (for the opportunity to play in the first NFL-AFL Championship, soon to be called the Superbowl thereafter). During this time, I saw Ralph make three meaningful attempts at building a great team capable of SB glory. First was when he hired Chcuk Knox, but his penny pinching ways (along with those of Stew Barber IIRC), ruined that rather quickly and Knox left. The second, more by luck than design, was when Polian was promoted to run things and Levy followed shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, Ralph fired Polian for reasons much speculated upon, but never publicly shared in any detail. The last, was when he turned to Tom Donohoe, and we all know how well that worked out, but at least this time the fault belonged to someone other than Ralph directly. Now, all we have is is an owner who is biding his time till his tenure ends as the owner of the Buffalo Bills. Father time is is just around the corner for both Ralph and our beloved Buffalo Bills. I have strong doubts that Jim Kelly and his backers will be able to keep the Buffalo Bills alive in Buffalo. One does weary with the perennial uncertainty that has become our Bills.
  22. ........and so we go into the 2009 season with a disaster for an O-line, rather than one that was mediocre. One that had a shot at being improved. When the Bills dumped Dockery, one would think that they had a plan, yet none surfaced. They dumped their backup guard and center (Preston) by not making him a real offer. We replaced the Fowler/Preston snap twins with a backup. Lastly, we passed on Peters and took the lesser of Phillies 1st's and a friggin 4th. That was crap. Should have been 21 slot 1st and a third. Folks it's all about the Benjamins. Old Ralph really believes he can take them with him. A joke for a front office, a slightly lesser joke of a HC and staff (but they work cheap). Instead of going out with a blaze of glory, the businessman in Ralph is getting one last shot at maximizing his take. Sad, how much more does he need to leave his family. They're all going to be taken care of quite nicely already. Toronto, Ralph's age, etc., all point to Buffalo having only a few ticks of the clock left before no longer having a NFL football team to cheer for. The Polian era will forever be Bills only chance at greatness.
  23. Continuity? How is this achieved with the collective genius of the top four officers of the Buffalo Bills: Ralph C. Wilson, Jr.....Owner and President Russ Brandon............Chief Operating Officer/GM Jim Overdorf..............Senior Vice President of Football Administration Linda Bogdan............Vice President/Assistant Director of College Scouting Wilson's talent evaluation is pitiful, both from a player and coaching perspective, and the others are must worse. One Bills Drive, the "good hands people"?????
  24. Yeah, Bell could, but no one, not even the Bills know what they have in Bell until he's battle tested. Big gamble, very big gamble...... Besides, we should have at least gotten Philly's 21st pick in round 1, and a third....fi they had one. This is crap.
  25. Nice find and ..... excellent comment.
