  1. Ronnie Jones? He also hired some bum from UB (Bowman) to coach the TE's who was (I'm told) a neighbor of his at the time. Wade wasn't thinking to brightly, and that surely didn;t surprise me. He was a good DC who never should have been a HC. The Cowboys can have old humpty dumpty....Jones runs the show anyway.
  2. Sure did, you missed Gailey's/Nix's comments when he was drafted. He's someone to develop.
  3. Stuck, what the hell are you talking about, or better, "what you talking bout Willis?" I grew up in Kenmore, and while I also lived in Cheektowaga, Depew, Tonawanda, etc., Kenmore was my town/village of residence during most of my 30 years in Buffalo. Enlighten me..... Their DWI (DUI for non-Buffalonians) record may be impressive but no more so than most places. Heck, one of the biggest drunks in Kenmore back in the mid-80's was a Kenmore Cop. His name was "Kir..." never mind. If you know Kenmore, you know who I just started to mention. Care to look at Ohio with the same skeptical eye? I also lived in Dayton, OH, where DUI road blocks were darned near a weekly thing.
  4. Gary Anderson.......drafted by the Bills and cut before the season began....
  5. I have a son sho had leukemnia a the age of two. He is now 11 years old and I do hug him many tines a day. He is doing well.
  6. That's exactly what I saw far too often last year from Mr. TO "Superstar".....
  7. Nice guy, but the team was on a downward trend under him. I can't forget him telling the team we're out of it before that 2000 Indianapolis game when both Indy and Buffalo were still alive (we were both at 7-6). Of course, Indy beat us handily and they made the playoffs. Wade may have been better than what we've had the past decade, but that still doesn't say much for him.
  8. You mean, "They decide, it's nothing about reporting".
  9. John, normally a man of reason...................... The above isn't going to happen.
  10. "Brees' college success led to projections that he would be a mid-to-late first round draft pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, but he slipped due to concerns about his relatively short stature for a professional quarterback (6'0"), a perceived lack of arm strength, and a sense that he had succeeded in college in a system designed for him." Source - Wikipedia Just saying......
  11. You may be right............. Pretty sad.
  12. This is a message board. A place where optimists and pessimists (seemingly a majority) can co-exist. In fact, they should well be able to feed off each other. Makes for a healthy exchange of ideas and opinions. But I am curious as to why you think anyone will really give a crap what you said now by mid season. Even if you are right by mid-season, there won't be any Nobel prizes waiting for you.....
  13. Lets look at Maybin for a moment. He was basically a one year wonder at Penn State. Not the most experienced player, especially considering where he was taken in the draft. He's now having to learn a new position. This may well take more than just some OTA's and mini-camps. With that said, he was a bad pick in 2009 and a year later, he's shown nothing to change that. While he may prove to be a good player still, the likelihood seems to be diminishing rather quickly. With many here wishing for Orakpo and myself looking for Oher, this was yet another Bills first round disappointment for us. Will Maybin change our minds? It is looking like that won't be happening.
  14. There are plenty of sports "journalists" and reporters covering the game as it stands today. Larry, bringing with him the history of the game and the old AFL days, is frankly quite refreshing. Sadly, when the facts begin to get distorted, or confused, then it may be time for Larry to find another avenue for his passion. Before Pat Summerall "retired" it became very painful to listen to him. Van Miller wasn't the same his last couple of years either. Age doe slow one, and the mind does not always stay sharp either. That may not be politically correct to say, but there is truth there.
  15. Sir, you have issues that none of us here can help you with. And by the way, Bruce was an ass in addition to being one of the all time greats. Schobel played very well (not to Bruce Smith's level of course) but very well none the less. ......and YOUR posts are the most racist posts I've read at this site.
  16. ....as do many of us....
  17. ........hummm....I can recall many a time in my youth over-indulging myself with spirits. I guess that's a crime? It's youthful indiscretion, unless of course, it goes beyond one's youth.
  18. It's a given that Schobel always showed up ready to play and was one of, if not our top defender the past decade. However, the stupid way he's played his cards, that is he put out the "retirement" thing, and then said he wasn't coming back (but would consider playing if the Bills called upon him during the season), which all boiled down to his desire to play near his Texas home. Fine. Had he made his wishes known only to the Bills, and given them a reasonable time frame to get something accomplished (or at least try) before going public, he wouldn't have destroyed his trade value with respect to what the Bills could have received if he had kept his mouth shut. With the Bills going to a 3-4 defense, they may well have been inclined to try to work something out for him. But no, stupid said he was likely going to retire, then blah, blah, blah. Had he left anything for the Bills (some trade value), we should all have wished him well, but since he's played this the way he has, may he rot forever as under contract to the Bills. As of now, he's a did not report (fine him). Let him turn in his retirement papers, but do NOT give him his release. He played his hand badly and definitely should not be rewarded for it. Sad too, because I liked Schobel, until he left the Bills with no options. He was paid pretty darned well to play for the Bills so he shouldn't have to clip coupons to get by even if he never plays another down.
  19. You had the entire planet's female population to pick from, and Lindsay Lohan and Brittany Spears were the two you came up with? I guess that's why old Archie called you meathead....
  20. I agree that it's well past the time to change the IR rules. Frankly, I never truly understood why it had to be for the remainder of the year. Also, giving teams a bit more flexibility with the roster would also be a good thing.
  21. A tramp is not necessarily a visual thing, no matter how much your poor attempt to be witty insinuates it is. And while you you may not be able to grasp it, I do not find her overly attractive (in part because of her deportment). Also, I'm definitely not a fan of rear ends that need a separate seat for each cheek. That bubble may be your cup of tea, but I'll pass......
  22. My thoughts exactly. Eva is a 9, Kim is a tramp.....
  23. Tell that to Terry Glenn who had 90 catches in his rookie season.... Some take time, some don't..... Some are never any good....
  24. Wow, which Fitzpatrick did you watch last year? Maybe you just saw one out of 5 throws, the few good ones. Fitzpatrick has got to have the most inconsistent arm I've seen in years. One great throw, one wild miss, a wilder miss, nice catch by the receiver on that crap throw, and "where in the hell was he throwing that one?" I like his intangibles, but the scatter shot he has for an arm drives me nuts, which isn't to say "Captain Checkdown" makes me feel much better.
  25. Jeez, the first time in years, the Bills seem to have some actual choices regarding the TE position. Nelson has the size, speed, and what appear to be excellent hands. He could be the secret sauce. A TE who can catch and run. Gailey brought in Matthews so I suspect he stick, and having a 270 lb TE who can block is not a bad thing. He also has shown to be able to make some nice catches as well in the OTA's to date. I would put Schouman third. The biggest issue last year with our TE's is that they too frequently had to stay in to block since the O-line struggled so much last year with growing pains and injuries.
