Boller’s Performance Likely Spells Trouble for Brennan
Spiderweb replied to Leonidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While the 84-85 trio was one of the worst the Bills ever had, if not the worst, it still somehow doesn't make me feel better about the guys we currently have. Unless one of these guys has their light go on suddenly (Brees...), our Offense is likely to be pretty offensive again. -
The right thing to do with Trent Edwards

A leaky O-line is a killer, but it hasn't stopped Aaron Rodgers with GB. That's a QB who has drive, passion, intelligence, and talent. Alas, Trent is no Aaron Rodgers............. -
Why Levi Brown is the only REAL QB on our roster

You determined that on a 3-7 for 28 yard passing performance? Modrak, you're outta here!!! Show Me the Baby is taking over...... -
Nice of you to elect yourself TSW Sheriff.....

Unexpected source sheds light on Bills
Spiderweb replied to ieatcrayonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
.....and your posts continue to get more delusional with every post. Malone bailed completely on his "family". His son, Demetrius was a complete non-entity in Sir Karl's life. That sure shows a strong commitment to responsibility, and family by the anointed one. What it shows is that Sir Karl is dirt. Thanks for slapping up one of the worst posts I've read in a long, long time. -

Couldn't agree more, on all counts. -
Despite our O-line woes last yer, and the fact that no team feared our passing attack, our running game was more effective than many other teams (ranked 16th). I too like our back coming into this year. Fred Jackson, even with his well rounded game, could find his carries much more limited than the past couple of years. Not because he doesn't deserve the carries, but because of Lynch and Spiller. I look for Lynch to run well this year (even if his carries are limited too). Improved O-Line play could further help the run game, and surely help the passing game of which is an area needing far more improvement than the run game.

nice statement on Andre Reed from Joe Posnanski of SI
Spiderweb replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I may be in the minority, but Bob Hayes was very one dimensional and didn't have bad hands, but they weren't "great: either. I diagreed with his going into the HOF and the height of his ranking here. If one could include him, why not Elbert Dubenion. In 1964, he had a 27.1 average per catch on a 42 catch season. He too had the misfortune of playing for a run first conservative team. Again, I don't believe Bob Hayes was one of the all time greats, and Andre surely belong ahead of him.... -

Who agrees with the statement by Peter King?
Spiderweb replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ah, you touched on something else that can't be over rated, and that's the mental part. Pocket presence, ability to read a defense, and make quick and proper decisions. Accuracy is huge, no doubt, but it won't mean much if the QB doesn't have the mental presence required for the job. Nore will having the mental attrributes for the position, but no accuracy (see Fitzgerald). Not to bring an old debate, but Flutie often stated how important the decision making ability is. He ranked it number 1. -
Floyd little had a relatively pedestrian career and does not belong in the HOF. Sorry. In truth, Floyd biggest claim to fame is that he followed Ernie Davis at Syracuse, the team that produced Jim Brown, and Ernie Davis before him.

How about this, Ruben spoke up to Greggo and his henchmen about the crappy job they were doing and he paid the ultimate price? That was far more the reality than him quitting on the team. Ruben was one of the few that cared and had the internal fortitude to speak out about it. If I recall, he also refrained from going public. Ruben was a class act and a great player for a team of far less quality than he. Ruben, congrats and thanks.

Can we give Trent a Haircut like Tebow's new one?

Bib, whom I only knew a bit thru TBD, seemed to be one heck of a guy. Those that knew him better can speak more clearly, but he was a classic case of a man who died of a broken heart after losing to death, his best friend, his love, his life. Rest in peace BiB.

Bob, old bastard you are not. Are missed around here, yes you are.
-
You appear far too rational, posts too well thought out, and far too well written. Shame on you....
-
You have completely missed the point. Again, it's about civility. Having opposing views these days seems to allow for personal attacks, etc., rather than simply stating one's opposing view without rancor or being of an abusive nature. Lori provided much to many around here. Many that appreciated her efforts, and looked forward to her posts and repartee. Lori will be missed by many here, if not most. Tim Graham was abused by the very same spineless coward referred to above. Using the internet do launch these attacks and abuses is simply spineless and cowardly. I guess these days being a spineless coward with a keyboard is acceptable. Sad days, sad days indeed.

They were still recognizable to their mothers. Is this what you meant?

Do you think Nix would like to beat the Redskins?
Spiderweb replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Willie Parker? Are you referring to the guy who went from almost 1500 yards rushing in 2006 to 389 yards last year? With Portis on the decline, a declining Willie Parker, and the declining Larry Johnson. All great backs who have seen their better days. Only Portis has a real shot (if he can stay heathy) of being a a big contributor. Willie Parker is the least of their three veteran RB's. -
.....and the defense rests. This is precisely what is being debated. Civility for one. It's not only about how one responds, but also about how one initiates a topic/thread. The internet allows one to be anonymous, and that is far too often used to be an idiot. It also allows otherwise spineless people to bully and berate without the fear of behaving as such in the physical presence of those being attacked. Lori was not without wit or humor. She understood a bit of sarcasm and accepted it as well, so long as it wasn't malicious. Lori will be missed as she brought a wealth of information to this board that most only think they have. there are those that contribute and those that pollute. Lori was a top contributor here. She will be missed. As for the Tim Graham debacle, those that drove him away should be ashamed, and yet they are likely the same spineless individuals who become Mr. Hyde when they possess a keyboard. This is a sad thing too as having Tim Graham contribute here was a great thing, ruined by a few bad apples.

Go To Camp and see for Yourself,Edwards is WAY BETTER!
Spiderweb replied to Driffill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This thread is somewhat curious as reports have come out saying on some days, Trent looks good, but other where he's been outperformed by Brohm, and even Fitz. This has been the pattern beginning with the OTA's. -
Where I seem to be most concerned is with the LB's. It seems we have a group of somewhat fragile guys of late. Poz, Mitchell, Ellison, etc. I cringe at a repeat of last year when Scott had to come down and play LB.......
